  1. Having eaten at a lot of concession stands over the years, I will say that MCHS has one of the better concession stands. NO barbeque, just great nachos, with or without chili or peppers, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, terrific fries - with or without chili or cheese and fresh popcorn. So bring a good appetite and hope you enjoy some great basketball!
  2. 1ST Annual Night of Stars The 1st Annual Night of Stars games will be held on December 9th at Marshall County High School. This will be a night where some of the top girls teams in the Middle Tennessee area will be showcased. Teams that are scheduled to play are: Richland, Moore County. Lewis County, Marshall County. Forrest, and Cornersville. All games will be played at Marshall County High School. Also scheduled are various fun games to be played at half times of different games. This will be a spectacular night filled with a lot of FUN AND EXCITMENT.
  3. Last year, Loretto dominated, ending with a perfect, undefeated record in district play. Starting out with a new coach, and 4 starters gone, how will they compete with other teams in their district? How good are the other teams? Any ideas on how these teams should be ranked at the beginning of the season? Having been a Lady Mustang fan for many years, I wonder if they can continue their winning tradition?
  4. Loretto dominated in 5AA, District 10 basketball in the 2005-2006 regular season. With a new coach and 4 starters who graduated this year, can they dominate in the 2006-2007 season or is the District Title up for grabs?
  5. Hustle...lol Coach Qualls could have used an assistant coach over the past four years.
  6. The silence of the basketballs, no noise in the gym, no crowds cheering, the game's at an end. The Marshall County Tigerettes lost a hard fought game tonight. Contrary to what everyone believed, its wasn't the blowout that some people expected. They played Ezell Harding close until the 4th quarter. Turnovers and mental mistakes hurt us the most. Even though they lost by 9 points, it was a very physical game until the final buzzer. Although we're losing a warrior on our team, we vow to carry on the fight and the tradition of the Lewisburg Tigerettes - play hard, don't get discourgaged, and give 110% always. Coach Steely and Coach West - you have a special group of girls - any of them could dominate the state in the coming years. You have the kind of team where the dominance of one player doesn't overshadow the success that you have achieved as a team. Every girl brings forth her best and the both of you bring out the best in each of them. They've laughed, and played hard together, but most importantly of all - they've grown together and hopefully gained the insight and experience to carry on the winning tradition. Although a chapter ends, a new story begins, with excitement and enthusiasm for the coming season. Lady Tigerettes - keep your heads up and be proud that you overcame a lot to grow as you have grown. Thanks to each of you and to the coaches for the memories that you have given, that will always be remembered. Lots of love and see you next season!!!!
  7. Congratulations to the Marshall County Tigerettes on their 3rd place finish in the 10AA District Tournament. For a team that started out 0-8 and ended up 14-15 is an accomplishment for such a young team with 9 players, mostly Freshmen and Sophmores. The last 9 losses were by 5 points or less. Thanks to each of you for your hard work and determination. People look at you and say " You lost to who?" We look at you and applaud you- for keeping your heads up, not giving up and believing in yourselves. The race is not given to the swift but to the one who endures to the end. Congratulations Bethany, McKenna and Lauren, great job! Jessica, Danica, Jakerra, Kenesha, Andrea, and Dricka - keep striving to be the best that you can be - your time will come! Nisha - we look forward to having you back next year - stay HEALTHY! Coach Steely and Coach West - An award should be given to each of you for all the headaches, nail biting and foot stomping that you had to endure - good teams are nothing without Great Coaches! We are very proud of you! Lots of Luck Next Week!
  8. I watched a good game last night between Page and Marshall County. Both teams played hard. I believe the turning point was the 3rd quarter - Marshall County played great defense and they played better offense and had less turnovers than they did against Lewis County. Free Throw shooting in the 4th quarter was a big factor as to the outcome of the game as well. I was thinking about the 4 game curse, at the beginning of the game ( how it is almost impossible to beat a team 4 times), thank goodness its only a myth. Anyway, Congratulations to both teams - good luck next week! MARSHALL COUNTY TIGERETTES - YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOU WANT TO BE, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND SUCCESS WILL COME.!
  9. Win, Lose or Draw - we are still proud of our girls. We weren't worried about the lost to Colubia (Columbia spelled correctly) As for being a little school AA school, is Columbia in New York? It's still a small TN town, just like the rest of us. For our "Little School" , the game against Columbia was practice for the District Tournaments - since Columbia didn't play us very well, I guess that that game didn't help us. Let us worry about Marshall County and you worry about the "Big Dog" Shelbyville - they are waiting for you. If Columbia has the opportunity to play Shelbyville and they play as bad as they did against Marshall County - it will be a long ride home! We are proud and we will stand behind our team because unlike a lot of teams this year, we still have 3 years to get it right with the awesome Freshmen and Sophmores that we have. Everyone else will be wondering who they have coming up. We know what we've got to build on. Marshall County Tigerettes keep your heads up!
  10. FOR THE FINAL JEOPARDY BONUS ROUND - Columbia was predicted to tie with Shelbyville for 1st place in the district. Basketball is a funny game. LINCOLN COUNTY BEAT COLUMBIA, dropping Columiba to 2nd place. Marshall County beat Lincoln County. As far as Spring Hill , I guess " we had an off night" but "good teams do dig deep, and we did what ever it took to win". Marshall County doesn't rely on just one player - on any given night any of the nine players can get the job done. In regards to 2 years ago, I do believe that there were more Juniors and Seniors on the team. When Freshmen and Sophmores are playing Juniors and Seniors, it only makes them better, as we have seen this year. Every team has rebuilding years. We are young, but we do have the building blocks to be a force in the future. As far as being cocky, cockiness doesn't win ballgames - hard work, focus and determination do that. We're not cocky, we're just proud of our girls and the hard work that they have put in this year. We look forward to the future. Good Luck to All the Ladies still Playing in the District Tournaments!
  11. Oh, I think Columbia was taking the game serious! The fact that they turned the ball over a lot and didn't make shots doesn't show that they weren't taking the game serious - it shows that they were having an off night. The panic on their faces through the first 3 quarters showed that they couldn't believe that they were being outplayed. How serious is a game when a ranked team only beats a bunch of Freshmen and Sophmores by 5 points. The game was serious enough that Columbia played their starters the whole game. The Tigerettes are young, but "serious" or not, they gave Columbia all that they could handle and more! I don't think that Columbia will forget how "serious" the game was. Go Tigerettes!
  12. The Marshall County Tigerettes have developed into an awesome team! They have awesome players and they have really improved since the first of the season. They have the talent and the ability to win the District if they keep their heads up and their eyes on the prize. Play hard!!!! Play smart !!!!! LOVE YOU TIGERETTES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE WORLD IS YOURS!!!!!
  13. The Marshall County Tigerettes will be a Big contender in 2006-2007. They only had 9 players this year. They only had one Senior on the team and one Junior on the team this year. The majority of the team is made up of Freshmen and Sophmores and they get a LOT of playing time. They will only get better with time - Their improvement since the 1st of the season has been AWESOME!
  14. Columbia beat us by about 20 points at tbe beginning of the season. Our girls have really, really improved!!! You are SO right! Everyone that beat us this year look out next year and the years to come! Maturity and experience are really kicking in and we should roll next year! Roll on Tigerettes in the District Tournament!
