Stan, do you really have to be such a horse's rear in your responses to people? The guy made a mistake...I'm sure you NEVER make those in your broadcasts.
rollredroll, you'd think it would sell better in larger markets like Nashville...but it doesn't. There are several reasons for this, IMO, two majors ones of which are:
1) The concept is better suited to smaller communities where people have lived for all their lives and the thing to do on a Friday night is to go to the local high school's games. Metropolitan areas have way more transients who really don't have much of an emotional connection to the area high schools.
2) There are a lot more (and better) advertising opportunities available for businesses in large metro areas.
All that said, I think it still could have succeeded in Nashville had it been done right...and I don't mean done right by Corby and Doug, who did an excellent job there. Businesses go under by growing too fast just as often as they do by not growing fast enough.
Cornersville beats Huntingdon, 1-0, on a walk-off HR in the 7th. Freed-Hardeman signee Savannah Cole (2 hits, 15 K, 0 BB) out-pitched Union signee Brooke Thomas (2 hits, 1 ER, 12 K). Those two will probably be pitching against each other a few more times over the next four years.
I don't understand why some of you people are making such a big deal over Coach Stewart's comments about playing in the McDonald's parking lot. All he was saying is, it didn't matter to him where they played, they were in the 2A quarterfinals and that was what mattered.
I swear, a select few of you Milan people need to get your heads out of your rears and quit taking everything someone says as a personal affront to your city.
I'm pretty sure God had nothing to do with the outcome of that game. I greatly admire TCA's and JCS's openness about their faith, but God doesn't determine the outcome of sporting events. I would hope He has more important things to worry about.
