You are right, the first year of overtime play in Tennessee High School Football was the 1973 season. That season (1973) was my jr.year and we played an overtime game that year, the first year after the rule change.

From Cumberland Gap, I just heard about the terrible events at Chucky-Doak, It made me get a very sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. This really puts things into perspective, as important as we think sports are and as serious as we take them, they are not life and death, they are a game. Knights, our prayers are with you.

I was very sorry to hear about the player from S. South. When we heard about this we all shed some tears at our house. We did not know the player, but reading about him makes all of us feel like we did, just like the hundreds of kids we have known through the years who do something they love with a passion every Friday Night during high school football season. From Cumberland Gap, all our thoughts and prayers are with the team, coaches, and the school, but especially this young man's family. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.

The O Line, anyone who knows anything about Football will tell you they are the heart and soul of any football team. It takes a special person to play OL, they must have a lot of Pride, Dedication, and Toughness and very little ego. Those "Pencilnecks" should try playing a game without any OL, I don't think we would see much offense. To all the Offensive Lineman everywhere, keep up the good work.

last year,south greens defense was pretty good,they were tough,and would hit u hard,but for this,i dont know,but id say they will have a good defense

hey dukesofhazzard,i think that its a throw up b/c happy valley lost everyone but they should still be good,south green has a big chance to win also,and gp will have a lot better team this year,and cumberland gap lost everyone too,but i am friends with the football players,and they really want to win,and they are working hard,as for everyone else in the region who knows,it will just be who wants it the most,good luck to evryone
