Geno Geno Geno, cuz cuz cuz.  You know I do agree with several statement you made about real coaching in the past 20 years.  Also, when I seen Chris’s offense live and the way he called plays on offense and defense, the way he practiced some thing but never practiced other things, I was real excited because I thought man this is fast, we are in extraordinary shape, we run, we throw, everybody is playing multiple positions, and Chris is a genius of a coach.  I remember him saying in his glorified interviews at the Jasper Highlands and other locations that he was ready to slow down basically from the pros and return to his hometown and coach the young kids and mentor the even younger kids and bring excitement to the community.  He said, like all the other posters are telling you he said, that this was his dream job after being away for 30 years. When asked if money, meaning the difference between the pros and a 1A small county public high school, was a concern he blatantly said NO.  Now I know he worked his butt off getting here late spring without getting paid, but he knew that going into the job.  He said NO problem.  Then Covid hit during the early season and he hadn’t even worked his first month at the school as a teacher therefore hadn’t been paid yet, but these were all unforeseen incidents that affected every teacher.  Again, money was NO problem.  If Chris was here I’d tell it to his face but you know what he isn’t even in the country.  So he tells the kids then leaves immediately and never looked back.  He had this big interview set up like you would get from the pros teams on ESPN.  You know what??  Also he met with the community, the parents, and the fans.  He quit on ALL of us, even you Geno.  Whether you see it or not he did.  None of us are saying out of the past 4-5 coaches that he was the worst.  You keep throwing up all these feeling you’ve had about Grider & Co for years.  I didn’t like alot of Grider’s ways either, but he didn’t quit on those kids.  If it was about money and the opportunity came up, then why lie to get the high school (dream) job?  Did he not takes tours of the facilities before getting the job?  Everybody knows him and Vic Grider didn’t see eye to eye, but neither did you and Grider.  Yet you seem to be in Jones front pockets.  Hmmm sounds like to me there is a little hatred maybe stemming from the glory days back in 1981-1985.  Just saying.  Plain and simple, regardless of reasons, he quit on those young men who over a very should few months looked up to him.  That’s hard for anyone, but especially for some 14-18 year olds.
BTW to any post that got an “upvote” the last couple pages it was mostly me.  Thank you all for supporting our kids.

Best 11 need to be on field the whole game. Offensive line needs to make adjustments in a bad way. We need quick developing pass plays and to get the ball to 28 as much as possible.  There are some big kids standing on the sidelines that could at least not do any worse than the current o line.  Hopefully we get a few back that were out last night.

This is right!  Make the necessary adjustments.  It’s hard since we are middle of season, but something has to give.  The line does a great job at times but just not consistent enough.  I’d like to see a lot more of those sophomores that only play defense at LB or Secondary to get more involved on offense.  Our middle LB #25 I believe, is a beast.  I bet if given the job somewhere on the offensive line he will do just fine.  Both Hunters, Mount, both Kelley’s, Jackson, Allison, and Hill all need to be constantly involved on offense.  Let each of them have their shot and running or catching the ball.   We need Davis back because him and Huntley together play off each other and are a force as a tandem.

At the end of the day, I really want to see DeDe Kelley rise up as the leader on this team.  I would like to see him rise from a very good high school back to an all around great player who can do it all, and most of all, who WANTS to do it all.  Don’t worry, those young me won’t give up like CCJ did.

To anyone that still BLAMES Chris Jones and keeps on and on is completely ignorant!! For one this Team isn't built to run the Wing T Imo! I think it's hilarious when Chris brought his Grey Cup to town and was winning in Canada most of you Guys was kissing his Butt!! Now you wanna talk crap behind his back when NOT 1 of you that's talking crap has the Gonads to say it to Chris's Face!! Not 1 of you!! So if I were you I'd stay on the Couch or behind a Counter or Mop the Floor or whatever you do that's NOT Coaching! Is this your way of living a life of Competing now that 99.9% of you don't? I'm just wondering???? I'd have more respect for you if you admitted that it would take a idiotic Fool to turn down hundreds of thousands of Dollars! The reason the ones that still say they would have stayed is the ones that would never see that kind of Money in their lifetime!! Grow up Move on.. you guys do know there are still ways you can compete in Sports even at your age. But how the heck would I know!!

I like to call people names? Lol ever post he makes is calling someone names. I don't see you saying a word to Him. I'm done with people that think they are better than everyone else. This Fam base is spoiled to the core and my guess is things are changing. Unless we go back  to padding wins bs losses by playing the Grundy Teams and Whitwells and lookout valleys etc etc... still haven't had 1 person answer my question

Name 2 Games that South Pittsburg has Won that we wasn't really suppose to win in the last 20 years. I'll wait.

Not necessarily PM...Marion County hasn't won a game in Jasper against Tyner since 2015. Rams won in 2017(37-28) and 2019(48-0).

I agree. It should be the game of the week and it will probably come down to which team makes the fewest turnovers.

Ah good info right there.  Definitely gonna be a tough game that could go either way.

All I'll say is there's a big difference between assistant coaching and Head coaching.  But when you don't have talent it's especially tough.  I saw alot of heart in SP last week in the 4th quarter, but this bunch has no leaders at all. Just really hard being a SP alumni and seeing this crap.

I see it too, but listen, I put all the blame on Chris for leaving.  I don’t know any behind the scenes crap that may have led to him leaving and I’m not supposed to know those things.  So for me to blame him is okay.  Think about it.  He came in late, changed the culture, changed the offense and most of the defense, didn’t do this and didn’t do that, did too much of this and not enough of that, then bolted the same day he told the kids, the kids and coaches dealt with Covid shutdown, didn’t play or practice or condition for 3 weeks, now running the new complicated offense under co-head coaches who have been assistant coaches, main lineman is out with an injury, other lineman have already played more in just 4 games than all of the past 2 years, win a huge game against NJ in the last minute, QB goes down, backup QB is one of our best RB/WR’s, now playing a very good Dade Co team, our line is still the same, back up QB scrambling for his life, one of our best RB’s ever does all he can to break tackles and run around people, our best WR can’t get the ball thrown to him because team double and triple coverage him, due to lack of blocking and scrambling we can’t find any other receivers, btw did i mention a new offense being called by 2 assistant coaches who didn’t design it and 1 of those assistants/AD wasn’t even really coaching so he is still learning it, and above all that it is noticeable in the players demeanors that Chris Jones quitting on them hurt them mentally and emotionally.  It’s a bad, bad, complication situation for those young me coaches.  Best thing we can do it stand behind each of them and encourage them, motivate them, and show them we haven’t quit on them.  These young me deserve better.  It’s been a roller coaster since Vic stepped away.  Think of it this way…if you feel flustered and disgusted, then just imagine how those kids feel.  Think about that.  This isn’t geared towards Sportman.  I just happened to quote his post.  Love ya brother!

As far as competing for the title that ship has sailed. At best they are 3rd in the region and possibly 4th after Friday. Covid loss to us, beat by Marion, and good chance to lose Friday. Either way their playoff path is already gonna be silly hard at this point. Possible Trousdale first game or Watertown.

    I tried to tell you…

I just don't see Cornersville scoring 22 points. Clay held them to 12 (yet it somehow still ranked behind Cornersville in the AP) and one of those scores was a kickoff return giving them first and goal. Cornersville just doesn't have the passing necessary to keep the box from being loaded all night.

@PiRaTe._.Mike, I'll be happy with a W, no matter what the spread is.  It's just better when you can brag a little after the fact. But if CV puts 22 on us, it'll be because our fourth string couldn't tie their cleats or find the field.

I completely agree with both of you.  With Cornersville they seem to get really luck and so I decided to give them 8 more pts than I really wanted.  How’s this look:

    FC - 34

    CV - 14

I have to disagree with you @TheTruthHurts22.  Don't forget this match up will be at Cornersville.  With the home field advantage they always seem to have, I think it will be more like 32 to 0 City 'cause you know we'll get one called back.  Maybe the refs will keep the Dawgs from using the Suplex for this game.

I remember watching that from last years game.  That was vicious lol, and bad timing.  Here the way I see this game going.  If FC can score every time they have the ball,  then it shouldn’t be a problem.  I don’t expect a blowout, especially if CV executes well their style of game play. Methodically moving the ball down the field. My guy says:

    FC - 34

    CV - 22

  9. From what I’ve seen Dade is a scrappy bunch led by Mr Cooper.  I believe they have several seniors, no where near the depth we have.  If running the same Chris Jones’s offense, which I do like, the. Please please run it fast.  The best way for it to work is to play fast, read the defense, and for goodness sake PLEASE get the play in a lot faster so the boys can get lined up correctly!

    Y’all do remember this right??!!

That happens everywhere though.  Marion has some kids in the halls that could help tremendously, but for whatever reason don't.  As a coach, I always tried to tell the kids to play everything they could as long as their grades were in order.  Once high-school is over, all you have is regret otherwise.

Yep I agree there except ours play baseball instead of basketball.  Also I agree with your last statement

Swafford played up until his freshmen year at Bledsoe. I’m assuming that’s what he is referring too.

    Wow, I never knew that.

    16 minutes ago, TheTruthPrevails said:

Yeah, we know he was gonna only stay here from 3-5 years.  Only thing missing from his resume is a title.  He can retire from tn after next year.  Whether he does depends on what he thinks his chances of getting one I assume.   Mc should be good for the foreseeable future.  Maybe Fitz will get tired of Meigs and come on down here.

If he waits around he might want to wait until hat freshmen group graduates.  They have a great chance by the time they are seniors.  I figure once he leaves Jasper that someone currently on the staff would want the HC job.

Just a few times.  We had a bunch of big plays and he didn't have the ball at that time. All four tds were over 50 yards.  Hopefully he will get some carries this week.  They have to find ways to get some touches.  Kind of a loaded backfield.

Yep if you can get all of them on the field at the same time on offense and give them all chances, well if it’s working at least, then y’all are prob the most talented backfield in 2A.  Just so much talent that can score from any direction at any time really.
