Great post! I am in agreement with you. HC does need a good rival and hopefully DC will still be up for the task. I am always anxious for the DC game, because after all it is what I grew up with and they have been one of the toughest hitting teams (in most years) and was a great rival. Go Big RED!!!

I like your thinking! But I also know that HC can't come into this one thinking that DC is going to roll over and play dead. This is our biggest rivalry over the years, and DC will want nothing more than to play spoiler in this case. We have done it to them in the past when they were undefeated and heavily favored, and I'm sure they would love to return the favor. But that being said, if our Defense comes out and makes a strong statement 6 is a possibility - but still a tall order. It gets harder and harder each week. Go Big RED!!!

Wow! What a defensive display tonight! Great job Patriots! Extremely impressive play by several defenders. Offense struggled for a big part of the game, but finally got some things going in the 3rd. But they really turned it on in the 4th! It was great to see the school record fall with most shutouts in a season. Now they are knocking on the door of fewest points scored in a season, which currently is held by the 1985 team (of which I was on!) with 67 points. Currently they are at 40 with a 5.7/game average - incredible! Keep it up Big Red! Now lets go and defend the Barrel and bring it back - again!!! Go Big RED!!!

I like your enthusiasm for your team! Believe in them all the way, in victory or defeat, and be proud. Rossview does have a great program and Henry County does respect that, especially in recent years! But come Friday Night, all is out the door and the Patriots are going to come out strong and make a historic attempt at another shutout! Go Big RED!!!

I think you are on to something here Pilgrim. If the offense is just good enough to give the defense a rest every now and then, it is very tough to get a score on this Defense. And then once you give them a lead, its very VERY tough. They are seriously hungry for shutouts! Go Big RED!!!

I was the one that said 90%. But I wasn't referring to getting 90% of the picks, meaning the rankings. I guess like MidTNFootball said, i just have thought that SM got the rankings about right because of many years of watching high school football. Laz is a relative newcomer to TN football...

Good game to the Wildcats too. It was tough out in the slop tonight, but I knew that our Defense would be tough to crack. Outside of the one big run by Jones late, not much rushing. Clarksville will be fine though, lots of room to run the table from here on. Make it happen and we will indeed see you in the playoffs!!!

I remember writing that, but I sure wasn't saying it to devilsden... There were some pretty pissed off people in East TN because of how NE handled that. Complaints to TSSAA and everything. Not from HC, elsewhere. No matter how you slice it, I think it was wrong.

Uh, I think that was Coach Shelby. Played his first string for two series and then took them off the field for the night.... That's tough to say that he wasn't trying to "take a dive" as Pilgrim so eloquently put. I was shocked at the time...

For the reason's highlighted above is why I am thinking the Patriots come away victorious. I personally don't think CHS will be able to score like you believe. They will make many big Defensive Stops tonight. And Clarksville's kicking game (or lack there of) is not very promising, Henry County's is one of the best in the state. Its certainly possible Pilgrim, but I just think it is a tall order to get rushing yards against this defense. Out of the last 5 games, 2 teams ended up with severe negative rushing yardage. I think the average is about 60 yds per game. But of course, we'll see in a few hours!!!

The HC faithful are definitely not scared. I think we were just hoping that there were several posters that might get on here for this week. But its pretty much just been Pilgrim and a handful of us.

Going to be a beautiful night! I haven't been able to pull off an away tailgate this year, and doesn't look that way for Friday either. I'll be there in plenty of time for getting a great seat, but then I plan to enjoy the CHS concessions. What was the big complaint about the visitor stands last game? I don't remember them being bad.
