  1. C'mon Pilgrim, you're reading way too much into this. Your 3rd statement says it all, "They have been preparing for this game all off-season" and likely have the game circled on the schedule. Doesn't mean they implied you overlooked Rossview and Springfield at all... All of the Clarksville schools probably talk a lot about Henry County and the need to even the score a bit. But believe me, Henry County doesn't take anyone from Clarksville lightly. The "tipped off" part was likely just a comment after the game from the Coyotes coach. I doubt seriously that is was meant any other way.
  2. Pilgrim, I am in agreement. This will be the greatest concern for Henry County, Clarksville's confidence. And that is not to say that there isn't talent on the field, because there is plenty on Shelby's team! Clarksville comes into this game confident and perched ready to take HC down. That being said, Clarksville has a tall order to put points on the board. This Defense that the Patriots have is for real. And if there is a running back or QB that thinks he's going to get 100-200 rushing yds against it, I'm afraid he is sadly mistaken. Its not that this Front 7 is impenetrable, they are just very efficient and follow their assignments to a T with few mistakes being made. The biggest asset against this Defense is forcing them to stay on the field. That can only happen if Henry County can't get the offense going. So if the Clarksville D is up to the task, then Clarksville will have their shot. If the Patriots have their way with the offensive front, I don't really see them keeping up and causing a shootout similar to Rossview. Just my 2 cents worth... Go Big RED!!!
  3. Ok Pilgrim, we are now "knee deep" in Region play! I am really looking forward to this one!!! Let the games begin... Go Big RED!!!
  4. Well, its finally GameDay and the Yanker is nowhere to be found! I am ready for this one and the secret weapons that the Coyotes are bringing from the Queen City! Looking for our Patriots to come out, play with intensity and get the W! Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  5. That is certainly great news!!! But I'm hoping he gets plenty of rest as well on Friday... Well, then it must be a nuclear option they are considering!!!
  6. Ugh! Isn't there anything exciting for Facts or somebody to talk about on here! Is it Friday already?!?!? Go Big RED!!!
  7. Very slow going this week. Just not really any West Creek posters on here. Looks like it is going to be a little on the warm side Friday night. Patriots need to make sure they are hydrated. Go Big RED!!!
  8. Unfortunately JacketLover, it brings back bad memories from the Ridgeway team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year. They were the Road Runners!
  9. I think the coaches will keep them in check. Its still going to be tough to prepare for a game like this. I'm also guessing that we'll be talking amongst ourselves this week, with a few added comments from Pilgrim. They are the Coyotes, correct?
  10. I am in agreement with you both. But games like these build character as well. When the opponent is not up to speed with you, it is still vitally important to come out with guns ablazin' then let the younger guys take some important steps in their future careers as Patriots. Go Big RED!!!
  11. I didn't hear the final stats, but heard that 111 was total offense. I was talking to the statistician after the game, he originally thought they had only 60 yds rushing the rest was a couple of passes they completed. Guess we'll read it in the paper on Monday.
  12. GWave, I was shocked by that outcome! Very well pleased, but shocked nonetheless. We enjoyed having the Green Wave make the trip to Paris and enjoyed hosting you pregame. I know it was certainly a rough night for the faithful in Gallatin, but I can't help but feel just a little redemption for my team back in '86, a game in which Gallatin's line dominated ours. But for sure, keep you heads up. Mason is a great running back and your line play is not as bad as it looked last night. For me, this answered the question of how good our Defensive front really can be. Who knows, maybe we'll meet again come November! Good luck to Green Wave on the rest of the season! Go Big RED!!!
  13. Well, here we are at GameDay in Henry County! With the Green Wave making a visit, its sure to be a wild and crazy night! All we can do is hope for the best with the weather. Looks like we may escape it... I am ready for our Defense to show up big tonight on the gridiron and make a statement against a solid offensive line and running game. The Patriots need to come out with fire in their belly!!! And from what I hear, they got it!!! Without further adieu... Let's Get it ON!!! Go Big RED!!!
  14. Great to see you Yanker! At least GWave wasn't playing Eye of the Tiger for you...but I like your scores - even though JCM will need some help to reach that one.
  15. I agree with your assessment, and will help you work on the patent!
  16. The current weather forecast shows that rain will move through tomorrow early in the morning, but reduced chances are in store starting around 5:00 with it cooling off a bit to the low 60's by the end of the game. Really hoping that this holds for a great game. Less than 36hrs away now... Go Big RED!!!
  17. Hmmmm, you have a good point there olddevil! Just sayin' Go Big RED!!!
  18. There are always plenty of hot dogs and brats. But the main course this week will be BBQ chicken quarters. Slow roasting so should be some good eating! Like Realist said above, its not impossible to get 100+ yds, just tougher than normal. And I think we have improved - even on defensive line play - since the Liberty game. But I know Gallatin will have something up their sleeve to make some magic happen! Here's to hoping that the weather will work itself out for a great pre-game and gametime experience.
  19. Its hard to say, but I think it will be hard for Mason to get 100+ yds. Like you, not saying this will be the case, I just think with the prep work going into it, he'll be hard pressed to get it. Throwing? Well, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that our pass defense has been exposed - but I will say they are make big strides to improve. Also like you, I think if someone gets to 21, they will be the winner. Much lower scoring affair... Go Big RED!!!
  20. Too much Mason? You think he will wear down the defense? I find it unlikely, though possible. For Gallatin to come away with those kind of numbers they must have something other than a run game...which would mean that Mason is not getting his normal numbers...
  21. Obviously not something you want to talk about much on a forum like this, but I believe the verdict is that he is not allowed to be on the team...its a real shame, because like you said, there was much promise moving forward.
  22. Sorry GWave, I think I was trying to block out the one from '86...
  23. Very interesting, thanks for putting this up Pilgrim.
  24. I agree. It is likely going to be a low scoring affair. If HC running game can get some footing, I like our chances. Yes, a home crowd is a benefit, but it hasn't helped us in the past so I'm considering it a wash. I am glad to have game thread with lots of activity on it this week! Green Wave fans are as passionate about their football as Patriot fans are. I am really hoping for a series record of 4-1 in favor of you guys!
