  1. I mean no disrespect for RBS and I know nothing about them, but we have played Taft and if you are not an exceptional football team, Taft will beat you and beat you badly. Speed, speed and more speed. I really think they could play with almost anyone, but then again, you never know who Taft will bring to the game!
  2. If they have the same kids they had last week when we played them, you had better get ready. They are extremely fast, more speed than I have seen in a long time on one team. They run off tackle well and then bounce it outside and they pitch, pitch, pitch. Their qb is a real talent, fast, quick, great feet and does not go down easy. You think you have him pinned in, and he gets out of trouble. They run 8 men in the box on defense and blitz almost every single play. You think you could pass on them and if you have some a couple of good wide-outs you can, IF you have time to throw it. They are convicts, obvsiously, but they are a great group of guys at the same time, they bicker with each other but showed very good sportsmanship to us. Of course that is easy to do when you win 48-6. Coaches are great guys.

    Scores?

Can someone help me know where to do to get a scoreboard listing of all games over this past weekend? Thanks!
  4. Goosevol, Thanks for the tips, you seem to really understand the game. Does CAK's qb have a "favorite" receiver or does he distribute things well? Will they try to run the ball, or will they rely upon the pass? Again, we appreciate any help you can give.
  5. goosevol and or OSHSman, We are going to play CAK on the 23rd, what would you suggest? You seemed to follow things closely. Will they try to throw more than run? What do they do defensively? How would you play them?
  6. Temple is extremely young. We have only 20 players out and only half of them have ever played before and half of those only on last years 8th grade team. The talent with a couple of exceptions is in the Freshman class. We will take our lumps to be sure, and it sounds like lump number one will come from CAK. But you have to start somewhere. Thanks for the update on CAK, it may have been better had I never asked.
  7. Yes, I am with Temple. We are a first year program and need all the help we can get. I am hoping we can stay in the game and make it a bit competitive, so if you have any more help, it would be appreciated. Do they like to throw the ball? How many returning seniors? What would you guys who know them think the best plan of attack would be, on the ground or in the air? thanks again for the help
  8. This is the first year that our guys will have faced this team and we know nothing about them. If anyone has the basic info on them, ie-running or throwing, 5-2 or 4-3, just the basics, please lend us a little help. Thanks
  9. Can anyone tell me what kind of football program CAK has? Do they like to throw or run? Are they strong on defense? Any help will be appreciated.
  10. Stokomo, I humbly disagree with you...everyone should be able to answer questions like that. If Gomab has qualifications, which it appears he does, then we should be able to ask him why his opinion is so heavely regarded, nothing wrong with that at all. I could be wrong, but it did not appear to insult Gomab too much, he just answered the question and the reader can determine whether or not they think his qualifications are impressive or not. I don't agree with all of his opinions, and probably no one does, but he does the work, says what he thinks, and should be able to defend his positions, which I think he does quite well.
  11. I beg your forbearance with my ignorance, but I was wondering what does TACA stand for, and how would one get nominated to play in this game? And a correction, not all the Mr. Basketball finalists are on the team and not all the first team all state guys are: Jake Skogen was not picked to play. Maybe Temple is not part of the TACA??? Or maybe they did not think he should play, I don't know.
  12. Gomab, I once again am both grateful for your efforts and puzzled by them. Jake Skogen was an AP First Team All State player, two time MVP State Tourny, and leader on back to back state championship teams and you put him at 15th? I realize that everyone thinks "their guy" should be higher, but the results from everyone else say one thing and yours another. Again, I do appreciate your efforts, but this one baffles me.
  13. Greenfield, I am a coach at Temple and I want to tell you that your kids played great and gave us all we could handle. They played hard, they played well, and they played and lost with class. Winning shows part of your character, losing shows all of it, and Greenfield is a program with great kids and great character. Congradulations on a great season.
  14. Supersteve, That was a very good post, well thought out and articulated, but I do have one question. Although I do not disagree that our guys, (Temple) will be disappointed with a loss in any of the next three games, do you think the same can be said of Perry County? Will anything but a gold ball be a disappointment for them after being rated #1 all season? One other question, we know that Richardson is a player, and we have great respect for the rest of their team as well, would you say that he is better in the post than say, Rocky Nichols from Hancock? I choose Rocky because they are about the same size. Thanks
  15. Fatchance, I think you need to go and take a pill and calm down a bit. Temple gets the headlines because of what they did last year and so far this year. When your team wins, the press will drop Temple and pick up your team, that is the way it works. Go ahead and root against Temple that is what makes BB fun!
  16. Wing 23, You guys played a great game and game us, (Temple) all we could handle! Your team and coaches are first class on and off the court and have earned respect that you deserve. But I do want to say one thing, do not be so hard on yourself about the missed shot...I have seen, and I know you have too, pros miss lay-ups. You did a good job, and one guy does not win or lose a game. Congradulations on a great season.
  17. We played CCS twice and they are a very good team. I had them winning the game as well until I spoke to a few coaches and watched Trousdale on tape. The home court is huge in this one and other coaches said that playing at Trousdale is a nightmare. So you gotta call this one "even". If CCS can overcome the travel, then they can win the game.
  18. You guys are crazy, this is going to be a good game and we at Temple know it. Celina has won big games all year and have some very nice players. This will be a fight from beginning to end, a great game. I know Celina is preparing for that and so are we.
  19. Celina, We at Temple have nothing but respect for you and for what you have accomplished. We, like you, do not listen to what everyone else is saying, and we know that to look past Celina, would be the worst thing to do. We also know we are in for a fight and hope to be at our best, because we know that we must be. We welcome you to Chattanooga and are looking forward to a great game between two very good teams.
  20. Jake Skogen signed with Division I Mercer University in Macon, the winners of the Atlantic Sun Conference 23-6 overall record. I am not sure why his size would be a problem, most teams would like to have a 6'5" two guard which is what he was recruited to play. As to football. We are not stupid. We know it will take time to build a program and we are aware that we will take our lumps on the way. But the way we see it, is that the only way to lose is to not try, so we will give it our best. As to recruiting: I am not speaking about other private schools because I don't know, but Temple does not in any way, shape or form recruit. And if we did, we are horrible at it! Our kids come from big families of a lot of boys, not from recruiting.
  21. Gomab, how could you miss this one. Next year, Single A, it will be Jonathan Cook from Chattanooga Christian. He had a great region tourny and has got to be a choice. I would say that CCS could be at M'boro this year and for sure next year losing only one real starter and Cook is the go to guy. If he stays healthy he will be the top choice.
  22. I have not heard a lot about this team, does anyone have the scoop on them. They seem to be playing well and have a Mr. Basketball finalist. What's the story?
  23. We at Temple are taking no one for granted, because we realize that at this point in the season, you can ALWAYS get beaten if you don't come to play. We are not looking at the State Tournament, we are concentrated on what could be the toughest Region in the state, single A. It is my guess that those who are on here shooting off their mouth about their teams are NOT the players, because the players know better. Four seeds beat one seeds and only staying focused and taking every one seriously, will land someone in M'boro.
  24. 24bball20, Just for your information, Mercer has a better chance this year of going to the dance than does Vanderbilt. Mercer is 21-5 and in first place in the Atlantic Sun. Dis on Jake signing with Mercer if you want, but don't dis on Mercer, they have had a great year and if continue playing well will be in the tourny!
  25. Jake Skogen and Ryan Wadley are both Seniors. They each have younger brothers who start who are both sophmores.
