WB played Dobyns-Bennett today at 12:15...anyone know who won?

I'd say head-to-head in the playoffs is a fairly good indicator of who the better playoff team is, no? And is being in the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years not good enough to say that we're consistently in the playoffs? Things HAVE changed at William Blount, and DB can attest to that. And I do think we could have beaten DB in the first round that year, we have every other year. Although it is the past, the most current thing on DB's schedule is a loss to William Blount. You guys won't blow an undefeated record against us this in the playoffs, however, that deed will be done Week 1 @ William Blount. I do think that DB is a great team and they have a lot of respect from me. They have had such great regular season success that post-season slip-ups are magnified, and I don't think that's entirely fair. It should be a great game come Week 1, and I'm sure DB will bring all we want, but I believe in us and feel that we will come out on top.

The polls DON'T mean anything...but when you have a 10-0 record, you're expected to make it past the first-round of the playoffs. Two words come to mind, one is CHOKE and the second is OVERRATED. However, I'm never sure how good DB is during the regular season...if they would play anyone other than Tennessee High, we might find out every once in a while. William Blount has been a better playoff team, for one, because we've beat you twice at your house in the first round when you were "10-0". Besides, since the present is all that matters, WB moved on in the playoffs this past season, while DB watched from Kingsport.

Since they won't be playing WB or Ooltewah, I'd have to say they MAY just avoid being exposed so early.

It depends on what the player is doing to get thrown out of the game...I've seen players get thrown for ticky-tack things too. High school baseball is NOT the major leagues, but umpires let some coaches get away with WAY more than they should. If you're going to be cheap about tossing coaches for arguging calls, at least make it equal across the board.

That's part of the game...two game suspension and a $250 fine?? That's completely ridiculous.

That game is on a Thursday night also, which will add to the excitement of the re-match and the home opener...! Can't wait!

WB needs to get a win after the losses to Maryville and Farragut

It's time for spring practice at some Region 2 schools, and nearing that time for the others, which means it's time for the annual Region 2-5A thread! What are some predictions for the upcoming season? Who all has what coming back? The Region should be strong again this year, and could very well be even stronger.

WB was leading Alcoa 6-3 after the 6th...barring an Alcoa comeback, William Blount got the W.

I believe that is what it will look like...I know we added DB at home instead of Clarksville NW...and I think the order of the other games remains the same.
