  1. What an exciting win for the Lady Govs! I'm extremely impressed by the fight that these ladies showed last night. Here's to hoping we can advance to sub-state with a win Monday night!
  2. Awesome win tonight by the Lady Govs over Maryville
  3. I must have missed it! Guess I have to wait for the CD to come out now...
  4. If this is true, this is an excellent hire. Coach Wilhite is an outstanding defensive coordinator. He did a great job at WB and I definitely think LC football is on the upswing (made the playoffs this year), thanks in large part to him.
  5. Jackson and Rogers made stupid mistakes and it appears that they've learned from them. I guarantee you that if they were to slip up again, they would be gone. Say what you want to, but I like my quarterback to show some emotion out there. And it doesn't really matter if you like it or not, because they'll be scoring plenty over the next three years.
  6. I disagree with this statement. Derek Dooley cares about class and cleaning up this program.
  7. I want to see William Blount back in the playoffs. I think we've got a good group of guys coming up.
  8. Thanks for posting the team, MHS82, I appreciate it
  9. Does anyone have a link to the All-County team? I can't find it on the Times website.
  10. Merry Christmas to everyone here on CoachT! God Bless
  11. I don't cope. I'm just waiting for spring practice and scrimmages!!
  12. My only complaint with that is that RBS should be in your midstate poll
  13. You're a lot more familiar with NET than I am WaCo. I saw Greeneville a couple times this past year and I was extremely impressed. Devils fans say that they have a lot coming back, and if that's true, then I think they're gonna be hard to beat. I would have loved to see their team last year play some stiffer competition though, to get an idea of where they really measure up
  14. To stay on topic... 1. Alcoa 2. Greeneville 3. Maryville (just for you, Stars) 4. Dobyns-Bennett 5. Knox Webb 6. Oak Ridge 7. Farragut 8. CAK 9. Knox West 10. Knox Catholic
  15. The Govs will always be in my top 10, Stars. If you insist though, I'll switch out Maryville and put Heritage in. Every year seems to be their year to beat us
  16. Now Stars...I already said in this thread that Maryville would be in my top ten. You must think I'm a hater or something
  17. I don't know if that whole curse theory holds water...I picked Alcoa last year, and they look to be pretty strong as well
  18. I don't recall ever being negative towards anyone though
  19. Oh Stars...you don't have a whole lot to worry about on that account
  20. Stars, if I were to make a top 10, Maryville would be high on the list
  21. I can't speak for now, but when I played at WB, our off-season workouts were pretty serious. We had weights and running starting June 1st that went through the whole summer, with the exception of the two-week dead period. On the days that we didn't do weights, the QB's and receivers would run routes and plays. Our coaches always stressed the importance of the summer, and attendence was very high as well.
  22. I agree that all this arguing about city/county kids is ridiculous. The question here is how can we energize the football programs in Blount County? William Blount is very capable of winning a lot of games, and we showed that during a very respectable stretch a few years ago. I just hope that the Central Office, the coaches, the parents, and the players are able to do what it takes to get WB to a level of sustained success. I honestly don't think we're *that* far away.
