  1. Cobrakid, How do you know Coach Jordan hasn't brought up the issue of using refs who were not from the regions of the two competing teams before? Maybe you should check into that before you make that statement. I realize you maybe from Tennessee but since you have since left the state maybe you shouldn't make assumptions about what is going on. You do not know what Coach Jordan has voiced and what he hasn't. Also how are all the fans a few feet away when they are all up running around making sure the tournament everybody else is enjoying runs smoothly? Trust me they don't get to see as much of the wrestling as you might think. Also as you said, Chattanooga teams have taken home most of the medals. Clarksville has only one the State Duals once which was in 2000. They have been runner up twice and one of those was in another gym (Overton). Some home field advantage there. Everybody got what they wanted. The Duals moved out of Clarksville but you're still complaining. Why don't you worry about something of higher consequence to society, such has the economic recession we are in and leave the CHS coaching staff alone.
  2. Just got back from the tournament. Jordan beat Beazley 1-0. Tough hard match for both kids and tough luck for Boone. I'm glad Jordan won but disappointed for Tee. I don't know him myself but do have a mutual friend of the family and she only has the best things to say about all of them. Tee has had a great career and deserves all of his accolades. I wish him the best of the luck in the future.
  3. As a product of Clarksville High wrestling I will say two things. One - This article is huge misrepresentation of Coach Jordan and anybody that has spent any amount of time around him will agree. Two - Everybody came on this board and moaned and groaned about the tournament needing to be moved to another location. Now that Coach Jordan has granted that wish it is said that he his being unreasonable.

  5. I've been to Steve's Landing many times, also by boat. They do have the best ribs I've ever had. Thanks for all the suggestions.
  6. CoachMick, You said you didn't want to say anything you couldn't be sure of. So are these the actual seedings?
  7. Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business
  8. I had to bump this post. I didn't want it to get lost in the haystack.

  10. Good question MatWizard. I've been searching myself. Porkers comes to mind but still not Excel. (At least to me.) Up here on Signal there's Way Crazies however, you would be crazy to even think it was close to Excel. So like I said good question.
  11. MatWizard I'm glad you brought him back to his senses because as you know I'm also a former CHS wrestler now living in the Chattanooga area. I was about to tell him to let it go myself earlier but since I don't really know him since I graduated years earlier I chose not to. Plus I'm just a lowly UTC grad and I couldn't keep up with the intellect of these Duke and Vandy guys. Okay that was a bad joke sorry.
  12. matfish, Coach Jordan also had a state championship team at Franklin in 89. That and his years at Clarksville High have earned him the honor of National Coach of the Year and in the Tennessee High Shcools Sports Hall of Fame. Plus he is an awesome author as well. As Ibleedpurple was saying he knows what he is talking about when it comes to wrestling and many other things as well, including beef.
  13. I assure you they are having bake sales, bar-b-ques, an many other fund raising events.
  14. I've been away from Clarksville for a while now since I now live in the Chattanooga area. I will tell you that it would be futile to list the supporters from the late 90s and the early part of the "new millenium" and I'm sure I would leave some out. I don't know the current ones but those I know that are still in contact tell me the support is still there and thriving. However, my point was and maybe I got a little carried away in defending what I thought was a dig regarding the "money on that side of the town". Was regardless of the money those kids work their rear ends off in the practice room. As do the other top programs in the state. The parents banded together to raise money to provide something for team the schools system didn't because the kids were dedicated to being state champs. That resulted in a state championship in both tournaments in 2000 and I hope it does again. The boosters work hard and I take offense to someone saying they have money in a sarcastic way. They have the money because they work hard for it. To my knowledge unless something has recently changed there is a club team the practices at Richview as well. I did not know about the Iron knights. I'm glad there are others. I believe this is probably at Kenwood. That program has had some significant success as well. However you may not realize there is a tie there to Artie Manning as well. Like I said before, CHS maybe Coach Maning's baby but he works for the whole county. I think Montgomery Central has a youth program as well that stemmed from some influence from Clarksville's staff as well.
  15. I think you need to take a little closer dive into why CHS has its on wrestlig building. Your comment of money on that side of the town has nothing to do with it. The parents of that booster club put a lot of time and devotion into there kids sport. Yes, they funded and they built that building not the school system. It was a group of parents that set out to make their team competitive and provide something for a group of kids and a coach that was dedicated to making that team one of the best in the state. I was a member of that team. I will forever be thankful to the time and effort my parents and the parents of my teammates put into not only fundraising but also the labor in the construction of it too. That tradition of the parents be exceptional boosters still is going on today and as long as Coach Jordan, Coach Cobb and Coach Manning have anything to do with it they always will. They are great motivators and are dedicated to the sport. They have not close it off to just those in the CHS zone either. They have consistently went to the board and to other schools to try and get middle school and youth programs started. The others don't want to put forth the effort CHS has and it shows year in and year out. If you ask around the state, that is what makes the top tier programs consistently competive. Yes it takes money to do that but the money comes when the work is placed into action to prove that it is deserved. Just look at the many posts of the feeder programs in the Chattanooga/Cleveland area and in Williamson and Rutherford county. That's why these teams are consistently in the top 10 to 15 programs. You can give all the money you want to it won't matter unless you dedicate yourself to the prize. It is mentioned on here many times that the Bradley and Cleveland programs have great boosters but I guarantee you if you walk into the wrestling room and get to know some of the people from the programs, you'll find that with or without that money they would still be the top knotch programs they are and the same would be true of Clarksville. Also you obivously don't pay too much attention to detail because it has also been posted on here many times that APSU has not been cooperative with either the TSSAA or the organizers ot the tournament in bids to get use of their facilities.
