  1. There isn't much excuse for an announcer to not get the team captains numbers correct. There should be several people in the press box with binocs. Even later in the game with the wet field, mud, etc., anyone spotting with binocs would have no trouble telling the numbers. i agree, fans watching with no binocs might have a hard time on some plays, but no excuse for the announcer and those covering the game.
  2. Kaz!!!! Where have you been? Have you been off on Jupitron or something????
  3. I hope everyone has a safe trip and we have a great game here in Oneida tonight! I would also like to wish Trousdale Co. just enough good luck to come in second place in the game tonight. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. You graduated in '83, your sr. season of football was in '82 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> I like the Jerry Burger too, but I usually get the Jerry Burger Basket! /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> Did you go back and pick up your orange and white afghan Fri night? I saw it laying under your seat after the game. I saw your big brother out on the field and asked him if it was your's. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> A hint... hmmm, I will give ya two. 1. We were both on the football team your sr. year 2. I remember the Jupitron story very well.
  5. I guess I classify as one of those old timers /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> Biggest crowds I can remember were back in 82 when Kazzy was a Sr. and we played Catholic (P. Warren was a soph.) and Webb. Both were HUGE games and we won both of them. Then in '85 when we played Catholic (P Warren was a Sr.). Oneida and Catholic were picked 1 and 2 in the district. We had Mike Smith, they had P. Warren (who was already committed to UT). We won that one too. The quarter final game against Harriman was very likely the largest crowd ever at OHS. Anyway, those three games were probably some of the largerst crowds I can recall at a Oneida, home game.
  6. The only curvy part of that route is Hwy 52 between Hwy 127 and Hwy 27. It isn't any more curvy than Hwy 27 between Robbins and Harriman. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> If they want a nice curvy road they can just run up to Lafayette and hit 52 and run it all the way east to Hwy 27. After thinking about it, since some of them think that they won't get a work out against the Indians during the game, the longer drive on Hwy 52 might be what they need to feel like they have faced some sort of challenge Friday night. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
  7. That will get you to Oneida with out much trouble, but there is a much faster way. =hit I-40 and head east to exit 300 (Monterey) =turn left off of the exit ramp and go north (9/10 of a mile) to Hwy 62 =turn right on Hwy 62 going east and go 15.5 miles until you come to a 4 way intersection with Hwy 127 =turn left at the intersection onto Hwy 127 going north. =turn right onto Hwy 296 going toward Rugby, after about 3 miles, stay straight on Hwy 52 east. Follow Hwy 52 east to a T intersection with Hwy 27. =turn left on Hwy 27 going North. (you will go about 12 miles to your next turn) =staying on Hwy 27 you will enter Oneida and go to the SECOND traffic light IN the Oneida city limits (it will actually be the third traffic light you have gone through since turning onto Hwy 27 but only the second inside the city limits) =At the second traffic light, turn right onto Second St, you will come to a stop sign on Main St., Cross Main St and continue straight to the end of the street. Turn left onto Bank St and about 1/4 of a mile or a little more you are there. If anyone needs the addy for the school, it is Oneida High School 372 North Main St Oneida TN 37841
  8. Cloudland couldn't stop Oneida's SECOND team offense let alone the frist team offense.
  9. Yea I know, I was there. Cloudland drove down to about the 15 or 20 on he second/third string defense and TL stuck the starters or at least most of them back in to save the shut out and Cloudland scored on the very next play. Just making sure Kaz could remember. I know he is old but I didn't think he was old enough to lose his memory that bad.
  10. What was the score of Oneida's first round play off game?
  11. Two of the greatest flaws in athletics are: 1. not being focused on the game/team at hand 2. discounting or underestimating your competition I hope Oneida never makes those same mistakes. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  12. I believe there are going to be so many people and so much excitement at OHS this Friday night people are going to think they are on Jupitron or something!
  13. Bunky is pretty good he threw the ball well last week in all the bad weather. Lambert has been at OHS for 2 years as an assistant/DC and 2 more years as a head coach (this being his second). He grew up less than 10 miles down the road though and has lived in Scott County all his life. No, Dustin did not play college football anywhere. He passed away less than a year ago after a long battle with cancer that startedwhen he was about 19 years old. As for Kazam, he goes back well past that time frame! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  14. Good luck to both teams! Play it on the field and leave it all on the field! Who ever wins go rep. both teams well in the next game and the next game. Oneida 28 Greenback 14
