  1. WC has too much. Maybe next year tigers.
  2. Unless greenfield finds their offensive stride it will be a long night. Rain or shine
  3. What are you, 12 years old? This game won't be a walk over for either team i promise you that. Texasinmac, who is your son if you don't mind me asking? My son played and graduated in 03-04
  4. Thats the beauty of the system, at least one good team from each district gets/could get screwed. By this i mean that the teams that you have to beat out to even get into the playoffs you don't play!! How is it even possible to do a tie breaker if you haven't played a single team the other has?? What are they going to do, put it in a computer or us strenght of schedule? It's all bogus. It makes about as much sense as the college football rankings, however this is something that wasn't broken in the first place. Sure in the old system you might have to drive 15 extra mins to play or have to play a bigger school(as the case with dresden) but i mean heck i'd much rather do what we had been doing for at least 6 years instead of go to a system that dosen't even work out on paper.
  5. I was at this game as well and will go on and say that Haywood, ya'll are some men. Def one of the best team that Westview has played this year. Team reminds me alot of Memphis Tresvant. Haywood as the same problem that Tresvant has however, and that is that football is a secondary sport and the coaching isn't what it should be at all. Had haywood had westviews coaching staff then the game would have been a mercy rule before the half and i truely believe that. Hang in there, ya'll ALWAYS have the players, sooner or later a good coach will come around and fix the aliments that are there. you guys arent the only team with that problem
  6. Any word as to the status of the young man who had to be carried out of the game a few weeks ago??
  7. Come on Butchie........... we need WWH out and Dresden in................... I hope your right on there lol. So lets say that WWH does get put out and with a hopeful Dresden win to get them into the playoffs. Then does anyone know where that will put Dresden playing in the first round or whatever they call it now??
  8. Get away from Lake Co? It's not novenmber yet, this is still football season for Lake Co. Maybe next week whenever ya'll start basketball practice will be a time to start posting about being worried about someone not wanting to play Lake Co. As to the alignment i'm sorry that dresden's geographical aliment doesn't suit what you think it should be. Trust me i'd much rather play Lake Co (which i'm assuming your from) or South Fulton opposed to Mckensie and the always weak Mustangs. Good observation however. You should prolly wait and start posting from now on until Lake Co's only sport starts in november and hopefully your comments will be some what relevant or intelligent. Besides, dresden's principle has enough trouble running a school, odds are high that he didn't put much thought into the new alignment
  9. As to your first point, i hope for Jolley and the rest of the back field's sake that your right about that. The offensive line hasn't had a good game since gibson county which was their first game in two years to show up and play. So i hope that their hungry to get after at least something this week. As to your second remark, dresden's QB has had a few good games this year but is sitll extreamly prone to making horrible reads, decisons, and throws even more so when pressured. Which with our all state offensie line, that happens pretty frequently. So as to that i hope he has an all district game because dresden will need one from him to win. Gleason is alot smaller, however they have alot more speed. Dresden is a better team IMO after seeing both teams multiple times this year. Gleason is ALOT more disiplined than dresden. If one thing goes wrong for the lions they have a strong tendancy to still build on top of it and make it worse. even in week 8 this was the case that cost them to give up a late score. Another problem dresden has is putting games away and playing to the level of their competition. The only game all year they came out with an attitude and ready to kill someone was GC and you see what happened there. However against both a horrible Halls team and a slightly better WC team they play llike that. The main problem is as i said eariler, letting the bad calls or misques get in their head and then it ALL goes downhill FAST. Dresden will have to come mentally ready to play friday. They got the talent, size, and they are slightly out manned in the speed department but i dont think it will be enough to make a factor if they play to shut it down early. Dresden by 7
  10. Pardon my iggnorance as to this very well placed together playoff system, but how are those two teams related to dresden making the playoffs? I'm assuming that one is in the same playoff district or region or whatever the T$$AA is calling it Once again sorry for the iggnorance but this whole getting into the playoff scheme confuses us simple dresden folk
  11. In case you weren't accustomed to the way dresden is run, calling in the scores is just one of the many things that admin at dresden has trouble with. In my fifteen years or so of being around here it's always been the same way, half way done and done when it's convenient for them
  12. Great game last night for both teams. I was suprised by West Carrol's physical play and i believe dresden was at first as well. The d played great last night, two huge goal line stands and several fourth down's. The offense, well that's another story. The line for dresden has got to start stepping it up. Last night on the offensive line was a disgrace. What big runs we did break where when the rb's broke at least a tackle or two in the back field. Simply terrible up front. I'll comend the ref's up until the fourth quarter. To be honest i don't understand why some of the guys do it. I guess for the money. If your not going to make your call then don't step out on the field. Simple as that. The flags were well deserved for the most part (and there was no shortage of them), however when the runner is down at least three seconds in front of the back judge and the ball pops out with a side judge ten yards down the field making the fumble call and your back judge who blew the whistle and didnt even throw his bag not over turn it is simply unaccecptable. I can understand missing a call as the side guy obviously did but that's why there's more than one of you guys out there. You got those strips on for a reason other than throwing the flags. Start making your calls.
  13. Unless dresden gets their heads out of the clouds like they've been coming into the past two games, this one will be hard for me to watch being a dresden fan im afraid to say.
  14. I've been a dresden fan on here for longer than almost anyway (call it ignorance (at times) or whatever you want lol) but i've seen many years of dresden teams. This is the best team i've seen since the 06 season. Now that being said i understand that the teams since then complied a total of 4 wins but that doesn't mean they weren't a good team. Maybe a little mis guided with some bad breaks but not a bad team. This year the main highlight is the offense. The d played awesome last week against GC. Best i've seen in a while and ii've seen bruceton play in their jamboree in huntingdon and well, they're jsut not on the same level. Neieve, eh maybe so tonight's score board will tell, but it's the truth. they remind me of the dresden team of last year. There can't be twenty five people playing for them. And while they have a decent looking runningback they'll need alot more. Good luck to both teams and hopefully dresden won't hit anyone too hard for anyone this week
  15. Peabody by 21. Greenfield's gotta find their offense sometime in the year but peabody won't be a good team to try new stuff on. Won't be close.
  16. You sound like a teen age girl. That's almost like me talking about how on every dresden kickoff (which there was several) complaining about how the middle two guys on the front chopped every single time. Your not supposed to do that either, but it happens in every game. As far as cheap shotting in the back ALL night i'm sure there was a few both ways, but if they had been hitting in the back the whole night i'm pretty sure those people getting paid to be there on the field would have at least called on of them. The same goes for the neutral zone your complaining about. If he was there ALL night don't you think they woulda called it? And if he was you need to be posting on a TSSAA board about how many calls were missed that night. Seriously. As far as the guy that got hurt with his helment i too saw that and the kid was already in position to tackle him when his hat came off. I doubt the laws of physics would allow him to stop all his forward motion in a split second. Along with the other two ref's who were there that would have thrown a flag if they thought it was so intentional. Don't you think? I agree that is pretty sorry about leaving trash everywhere and if that was the case that should be taken care of but the rest is part of the game. They pay those guys in white shirts to control it and those "cheap shots" and i'm sure they didn't see everything but having only one personal foul penalty the whole game i'm going to say you need to pay a little closer attention and get a better grasp of whats going on. Talking another thing about being classy was number 4's taunting with they first touch down. That was pretty classy. Tell the kid to act like he's scored a touch down for christs sake. And that being down by 4 scores isn't the best time to pull something like that.
  17. That's the best game i've seen dresden play in 3 years. The offensive play calling was great and almost flawlessly run besides a few missed assignments and a fumble. Hutcherson really impressed me this game. I'm not sure exact stats but it was by far the best game he's ever played. Keep it up kid. What really impressed me was the defense this game. Dresden had constant pressure on the QB and it showed with the turn overs. i'm not sure exactly how many sacks dresden had but the presure led to 4 picks (while i was there) and at least two that i can remember that where dropped. Another thing that really impressed me was the level of conditioning that the boys were in last night. Granted being up 30-40 points gives you something to think about other than being tired lol but there was no one huffing and puffing which impressed me. On the gibson d-line it looked like they just got done running a full marathon after the second quarter which i figured they'd be in better shape. The only thing that ticked me off was that punk kid holding the ball out when they scored the first touchdown. But, he got his later. Good luck to GC the rest of the way and more importantly keep it rolling dresden!
  18. That is one of dresden's weak points is defending the pass. However the 3-5-3 they run should be able to put together some signifigant blitz packages to get some heat (something that they should have done against McK). Another thing that dresden is doing well that they haven't ever since Rodgers was there was rotating the d-line. There will no doubt be some tired guys out there but look for dresden to rotate accordingly
  19. If i had money to bet i'd say that your Max Arnold. With you extensive football knowledge you'd prolly be better off not posting anywhere. Well, maybe a pee wee football forum
  20. Dresden's big front has acutally been in great shape. Ask any Mckensie fan, they didn't wear down. The combination of rotation and conditioning has them right where the want to be. Dresden secondary.....well you don't know what your going to have until that particular play. Some plays, they look like their college level players. the next play they might look like a pee wee team. Honestly when they are on top game their pretty good. If not then they aren't close to the play. That's about the best way to sum up the secondary in the first three games.
  21. I kinda feel sorry for the tide in this game
  22. Gah, another epic thread. No one cares about why or where your ranked in the fan poll. It only makes you look like more of a jackass when you get upset by someone. On the flip, i'd be more worried about the team winning. It doesn't matter if their ranked number one in the nation and get beat to get put out of the playoffs or to get in the playoffs. The polls don't mean jack. Plus it's week 3 for goodness sake. Chill
  23. We're all sorry your sons name didn't get mentioned during coach's corner but anyone who has kept up with dresden in the past few years know who's got the talent and that this year it's being used wisely. Yeah, the QB issue is still there but when you have 35 kids on the football teams with almost twenty being freshmen then your pool to pick from is thin. Sometimes you gotta go with what you have (trust me, i wish there was another option has badly as you do )
  24. I haven't seen gc this season but someone with a good passing game might pose a signifigant problem for dresden. Lets not discuss last week's combination of penaltys, turnovers, and horrid calls or i might hang myself from my shower rod. Dresden HAS to get the turn overs down if they want to be a good football team. They have the talent, coaching, and schedule to be a 7 win football team (something that hasn't happened at dresden since 2003 season) if they can just get the turnovers and stupid penaltys down. I won't make a prediction due to the fact that my opinion wouldn't be worth anything having not seen gc this season but i'll be there cheering on my lions! Go big d! (something i haven't said with an ! in a while lol)
