cool cchs2, my guys loved the clinic. well i was not sure weather we had ever met. as for spring we are starting around the second week of may. we will have at least 2 scrimmages already lined up on may 12th and 29th on the hill (at cosby). you guys should know something by the end of next week about your new coach i hope. that is if nothing major happens. if they name a coach next week that would give him plenty of time to get spring practice schedualed. i am sure the canidates are probably planning on what they may do if they get the job. i know i would be. shelton

well snoball. let me help you understand something. i got back at longhorn for the simple fact he had to copy some who burned him to try and burn him back. come on be original its what makes us who we are. as for caring about what is said on here i could care less. however it makes for good conversation at the lunch table with my players, just before workouts. as for putting my time in come spend the day with me and look at the time when i do my post there big boy. one thing may be true we may go back to our old self and then again we may not. also we dont have the type of players playoff contending teams go out and steal. one other thing if you knew me you would know getting my ego stroked means#### to me, but my players and the job they do does. shelton

roger buddy. the comments made by old eagle 24 who is a good friend of mine was out of anger and sarcasim. he is not saying we could win in that 4a region. he is tired of certain people bashing us because we are excited about where our program can go. therefore if you want to be one of those than he want shut up. certain people around here are jealious if you understand were i am going. to be honest i dont know that we could beat any of the teams in that region. we fot of to a rocky start pulling it together against cloudland. from there the were on a roll. winning or giving whoever we played all they could handle. ntnimn thank you. you dont know what it means to here someone complement us that way. i hope as coaches we can live up to the hype and expectaions. i wants whats best for each player not just on the field but off. i have a lot of passion for what i do and the kid i have the opportunity to help. again it means alot. i hope i get to meet you someday if i have not already. shelton

thanks cchs2 not sure who you are may have an idea. you and maybe 2 more people in this county think i am wishing the best for you all. most everyone thinks i am trying to recrute you all to come play for me. thats right i said the word RECRUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am about tired of it to. i want to help kids develop character, disipline, there abillities, and if the have the talent try to get them to the next level and more important a college education. i want my players and for that matter everyone to know i care about them and want the best for them. as for the new coach being able to get started. when he is hired i would say he will do what ever it takes to get started some how. even if he does not get to work in the school i am sure he will come in and get things rollin for you guys. he may himself have to fullfill some duties where he is currently. the main thing is getting someone hired. as for the weightroom we have anywhere from 25 to 30 working pretty hard. saturday we had 15 go to UT's strenth, speed and conditioning camp. for the summer we are going to be working hard i hope with everyone who meets all the requirements getting there name on there jersy's for the 06 season. again best of luck. coach shelton

jody lowe i have to say you were the man and still are the man. 15 carrer interseptions as a 3 year starter on the gridiorn, and a smothering defensive player on the court. i give my gameball to you son. your a turn around player. no disrespect to the rest of the team but Jody Loweknows how to " FLIP THE SWITCH" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep it up guys and keep yout eyes on the prize with focus on every opponent standing in your way one at a time.. good thing happen to those who sacrifice, and are willing to give what it takes no matter what that may be. WHAT????????????????? you mean Ensor is not going to coach football anymore. what is up with that? thanks for having our back though. you know it odd that out of everyoneyou and a few hampton people give up some credit as do i you guys. however i want to beat you all just as you all want to beat us. then there are those out there who do not play us or have no reason to really care, but yet they trash us. i guess i am old fashioned and i give credit where credit is do. dont worry i dont let it get to me. honestly i could care less but it makes for interesting chatter and motivation. i hate you are having to go though this transition period finding a new coach. it can sometimes cause teams to get set back a little. so do you have any canidates. hope to hear something soon. shelton

i was afraid of that being a problem. i cant see how cocke county will get an established coach with our pay scale being so low. well i hope it works out with one of the other canidates. you guys deserve to have a coach ASAP get ready for spring and to get out there and get some kids out to play. well keep us up to date and if i hear anything i will lwt you know.

well old eagle there is no telling what they feed them. i remember seeing a few big boys not dressed when we played them. i am assuming that may be who pujo is talking about. it sure sounds like you all have reloaded with fire power. i must say we have not. we do have talent, but replacing #11 magaha, #68 hough, #89 hewitt, & #2 colman will and has not happend. on that note i will leave and start trying a way to beat the best coaching staff in 1a and there team. later shelton

you know you may be right about that longhorn. you never said where you were from to know so much about us around here. cosby is a program on the rise and we are not wanting people to think BAM there a football school. all the KIDS want is a little, good job guys your turning things around, is that to much to ask. does winning more games last season than in the past FIVE years not mean anything. we are doing all we can to make a statemeant. we will get those not by beging for respect but by earning it which is the way it should be. so i will make this statement: keep your membership and watch the papers you'll be seeing our name in it, and it will be impressing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shelton

wow!!!!!!!!!!!! interesting. i have to say i am surprised by all this. i understand your conserns about the process taking so long. waiting till end of year could be a hugh mistake setting back cocke co. in a major way. splitback has a great consern. imagine waiting till sometime this summer to get the players ready for football. heck you all know what a job it is to get the players to do anything here during the summer. surly they are not going to put if off that long. teaching positions? jones was hired and did not have a job opening. stories i heard had him helping out here and there and sweeping the gym floor till the next year when he had actual classes. weight lifting at that. whished i had that schedual. now money this where the other problem will take place. i cant see how any coach outside this county or state want take a considerable pay cut to come here and coach. now double dipping is an option. there you are looking at an older guy retiring and then getting work here in this state. well i guess we can just keep listening close and keeping us updated. later guys

football school? what makes a school a football school? i will tell you this cosby is not at the moment. we are working hard to change that though. over the last few months i have wondered why a team that traditionally won 1 or 2 games a year cant get a little respect when they win 6. its ok though because my guys fed of of this.the players coaches just work that much harder to get ready. all we can do is work hard and try and win games. maybe then we can gt a few positive comments about us. as for cchs what are they? they have not competed in any thing over the last few years. baseball and golf have done pretty well. if you know of anything els please let us know. baseball will struggle now tht they have to get use to a new coach again. i hope cchs can get something going for them. it would also be nice if some people would give us a little credit as well. then again i am not doing this job to get people on our side. i want to build a program that wins. shelton

old 24 eagle i hope your right about your early predictions. i would love to have a season like that. we will have to work hard starting yesterday to get it though. we are working hard, but you can never work hard enough. shelton

old eagle 24 your right. you also know thats what i have to do. i have to put my best 11 on the field. sometimes that is 11 both ways. sometimes its more sometimes we use 15 to 20. some goind both ways while others start one way and are backups going the other way. regardless it is still in my opinion iron man football. our guys have to know both sides of the ball as well as multiple positions. shelton

sorry if thats what happend, but you dont know whats going on here with football. you make commints without knowing whats going on. i had 45 jersys and was afraid i would not have enough to dress everyone this coming season. i went and added 6 more so i could dress 51. will i dress that many not sure but i have that many interested not counting incoming freshman. there is excitment here in regards to football. the ones who play football on the basketball team cant wait till football starts. even the ones who play basketball that plan on coming out are talking it up. and the basketball team is looking at a good chance to go to M-BORO. great basketball players dont necessarly make great football players which is how i took your one commint. i dont understand why you think there is no reason to be excited when we had a good season. we won more games last season than we have in the last 5 years. i dont want to argue. i just dont understand why some people make commints on things they really know nothing about. shelton

it was a great game started rocky but man the pured it on. timmy was timmy and dexter was dexter. kelvin played well as did todd. todd made the best play i have seen him make all year running down a fast break to strip the ball lose. 2nd half was fun to watch. magaha played big the lowes brothers looked like robin hood stealing like crazy then giving it up for mutiple scores. man those football guys get after it out there wonder where they get that from. great game and team effort. my hats off to the guys sorry for the glare. keep it rolling. shelton

how does everyone think this region stands? and why?

well coach logan let me let you know this. the kent blacks , dexter mannings and timmy blakelys want take the field or strap on a helment. no disrespect to timmy or dexter i love him to death. they may even wish they would have gave it a shot. actually dexter did. he went through a whole week at tenn tech camp. came home after one practice quit. instead of them look at the jody lowe's, dewight hewitt's matthew magaha's, cody lowe's, spencer grooms, russell valentine's and kelvin rone's that would tell coach coggins bye tonight if i told them we started playing tomarrow. one if not more of them are on the court the whole time. so dont tell me what i need i need football players not basketball players.i got them to. right now them starting or coming off the bench are the winning factor everytime the basketball team plays. untill you set foot here and see what we are doing and what football means to these young men you best assume nothing. shelton
