  5. I heard tullahoma has a left-hander that is really good. who is he ?
  6. good topic and a tough topic: being a high school coach: you would love to have your team to stay together to better prepare for the next school season. but if the top players in your program are not being pushed , are they getting better? i feel that , as a coach i have to put together the toughest schedule possible and play the travel teams because your players need the exposure. exposure is the things parents are concerned the most about. the tbca showcase, the sunbelt soph. and jrs. are ways to be seen, there are other showcases around that players can go to(always watch for the" pay for "showcases cause someone is making a buck on them).the coach has to be have totally committed and put the time and effort for the games and PRACTICE during the entire summer. i have had great players that stayed together as a high school team and i have had great players that went with the travel teams. the players that stayed and the ones that travelled both ended up in the schools that they needed to be at.there are very few REAL players that get lost in the crowd anymore.this will always a hot topic and also a hard thing for some people. good luck to all the kids that have to make this decision.
  7. collierville and germantown are still in

  10. jbbutler04 how do you think Hudgens is over reated here in memphis he does get that much hype except in football. also he completely ate yall up one pitch from a perfect game thats dang good. and if a guy throws in the upper 80's in my eye he deserves to have some recognetion.
  11. fill us in, i looked at the murf. paper but couldn't get the whole article.
  12. jeff porter hoston ark. state
  13. the amount of fields is so important because there are 32 teams in town at one time, i don't know if any other city has enough good fields to host. when chatt. hosted, teams had to travel to cleveland and that was for only 16 teams. concerning college coaches not coming so far: my question is how hard are they working? we have the top teams and players from across the state in one location and i would think that all the college guys would want to be here.
  14. g'town--joe morgan jr. houston--john lalor sr.
  15. there has been a lot of great teams but germantown 1995-ranked #1 usa today, baseball america, and bca has to looked at the best. they went to souther calif. and won the best h.s. tourney in the country and also went undefeated. say no more
  16. if your high school coach is a member, any player can try-out for the tbca worth showcase. just find out the try-out dates and times and give it your best effort. the players that make the teams will get great exposure and the only cost is getting to the showcase. the coaches association will pay for a dorm room and food in the mtsu cafeteria.

    HOUSTON

moving game to 5:00 @ houston because the rain is suppose to be back at 8:00 tonight--houston vs. bolton
  18. we have been rotating the coaches around the last several years, most of the time a coach is an assisstant coach 1 year and then is the head coach the next, we usually decide who the coaches are @TBCA clinic in jan. and yes the coaches that are holding the try-outs are ones that choose the teams
  19. this the great thing about the tbca showcase, it is free to try out and if you are choosen the only cost will be to get to mtsu, the coaches association will pay for the players to stay in the dorms and they pay for your food in the cafe. on campus, where else can you go to a showcase like this, most showcases today-someone is making alot of money off of these families, not the TBCA
  20. this is the reason that i am putting the info on this site so maybe some players and parents can see this and spread the word to other players from other schools who's coaches don't care enough to tell their players. this is a great oppurtunity for a kid and also region 5/6 has in the past had the least amout of participation from their region.HELP US SPREAD THE WORD, PLEASE
  21. i hope that you are hearing wrong, these try-outs should and i hope are fair and wide open, sure there are some underclassmen who have had great years and coaches know about them but if a player comes to the showcase unknown and shows the skills required , i would sure hope that they get a chance to go the showcase
  22. the number of players vary around the state but i know that in west tn. you will have around 50-60 when you the memphis and jackson try-outs. each region chooses 18-20 players to the showcase. i have heard of as many as 80 trying out in a region before. we are trying to get the top underclassmen from across the state, so it should be difficult to make this teams.
  23. just bumping back to the top so people will see this
  24. These try-outs and the showcase at MTSU are for underclassmen, this year's graduating seniors are not eligible.
