Honor system??? Ranking Tullahoma ahead of Baylor in the overall poll, what a joke. Tullahoma brags about making it to state, where Baylor has been in the finals for something like nine years straight, they are not happy unless they win state, a different mind-set. In the regular the season game between Baylor and Tullahoma the score was 0-0 but anyone who saw the game witnessed total domination by Baylor oushooting them by something like 20-2. If it was not for the Tullahoma goalie the score would have been 5-0. Baylor beat Father Ryan and St. Agnes in this years state tournament, who did Tullahoma beat, get your overall poll right!!
  4. Both Baylor and JPll had great teams with a slight edge to JPll because of Megan and Grace. The difference in the game this year was the coaching strategy of JPll which totally threw Baylor off balance. This year instead of Megan going north and south she stayed in the mid-field and was going east and west spreading the field and using the wings. JPll used the possesion game and it worked as it usually does. If there is a weakness of the Baylor team it is the lack of possesion soccer. This also allowed Megan to help on defense which she did a great job of. Another strategy was putting Grace on the left side of the field instead of the right. In 2003 and 2004 JPll got totally out coached, this year the coaching edge goes to the JPll coach. congratulations!
  5. As the season concludes with Saturday's state championships, it is wonderful to see the many great players playing in the State tournament who have played together on ODP teams and faced each other at division one club championships for so many years. Congratulations Meagan Forester, Grace Lawson, Paige Lanter, Brita Byrne, Lauren Good, Anna Hickey, Carrie Smith, Kelley Dyer, Lacy Morrison, Brita Roach, Molly and Meagan Kinsella, Kendall Weaver, Anna Fisher, Brittany Baldwin and I know there are more that I missed. You have all proven that the cream definitely rises to the top and that hard work pays off, thanks for the memories!
  6. The two best teams in the state have made the finals and it should be a classic battle. Both teams are well coached and very talented with star studed division one club and ODP players making up their starting line-ups. The key battles will be Lauren Good and Meagan Forester at center-mid and Grace Lawson and the tuff Baylor defense lead by Lacy Morrison. Congratulations to both teams!!

Your prediction was 100% accurate, good job!!!! How about the semi finals?
  8. In the last two years Baylor has beaten JPll and their high power offense 1-0 in 2003 and 2-0 in 2004. We have your number baby!
  9. With six of the top ten teams in the state playing in division ll I think many teams could win. It depends on who is hot and gets a few breaks. I would pick Baylor, JPll and Father Ryan as front runners. St. Agnes has the best goalie and if she is hot they could win. The question is will Baylor's dynasty end or continue. JPll was the favorite in 2003 and lost, Father Ryan and JPll were the favorites last year and lost.

The analogy of Oklahoma football is pretty lame. Baylor has been in the finals for eight years in a row and won six. Maybe comparing the team to the present USC football team would be more appropriate, just a thought.
  11. Great insight, also in most instances uless a kid is a total stud, they have to concentrate on one sport if they want to have any chance of playing. The starting line-up at my daughters high school team consists of eleven division one club players.
  12. Have the AAA teams and the others who make the finals thought about how the artificial turf will affect their teams? The surface will be very fast. Can the girls wear the regular spikes or do they need turf shoes? It will definitely provide for a much better match compared to the rough bumpy field of last year.
  13. Home field advantage and tradition will carry Baylor. Baylor has won four state championships in a row beating Father Ryan 3-2 in 2004 and a 1-0 victory against JPll in 2003. Until they these other schools prove they can win the big one, Baylor has to be the favorite for the fivepeat in 2005.
