  1. nice choices by picking Harriman. I will go with Tellico to win the District though, and Jellico to win it in District 4. I think Oneida and Grace will finish 3rd in the districts with Oneida upsetting Sunbright and grace winning big over midway. I look for both 3 seeds in the region to upset the 2 seeds also!
  2. i think sunbright is highly overrated, but i think their qb is going to be a stud before its over with.. bad news for him is he is facing a very good, very experienced defensive secondary.. i see a couple int's in his near future if not more.. oneida will run all over sunbright and this game will end with the scoreboard showing 34-7 in oneida's favor.
  3. i really heard Harper isn't playing for oz because of his future in football... this will take away a lot of size for oz and i already had them at 2 this might push them back farther... rather is good but it takes 5!
  4. scofield the sad thing is in this argument.. if scott high played oneida high i believe they would play harder in that game than their region/district games whatever you want to call it. scott high fans always bring this argument up because their team isn't going to the playoffs every year and winning. they have no pride nor do they know what its like to win. i do agree they play a tough schedule, but there is only one way to get through that tough schedule. if they would focus more on beating these 'goliath' teams instead of bashing their neighbor they may win some. for a 3a school to call out a 1a school is foolish anyway you look at it. you go up and talk to one of the boys on oneidas team when they play a tough team and you wont hear one of them say anything about losing or talkin themselves down. they always believe they will win. but if you talk to a scott high player about who they play its always the same. "we play the toughest schedule in the state, thats why we dont win" instead of whining and complaining about it, why dont they do something about it? difference is, teams come to oneida fearing them, teams go to scott thinking of them as if they are oakdale. accept that fact, or beat the man.
  5. and i wouldn't get so mad at this, i use to ignore it but oneida lost to gatlinburg pitt 7-6.. by one point.. do you realize gp beat fulton by 3? and just lost to undefeated austin-east by a touchdown? apparently oneida isn't fielding that bad of a team.. or like i said you're just mad that you're team isn't use to winning and spending a few more weeks practicing football during playoff time.
  6. outlaw is of course a shs fan who cant get on their pages and talk because they still cant get over the fact they cant win in their district... sorry oneida is a smaller school and its only fair they play smaller schools.. as for scofield if u didnt like what you saw dont go back its that simple.. hate on oneida all the way into playoffs just like every year while your team sits at home after their 10th game.
  7. top players from each team: oz - rather, harper jellico - morrow (will give rather a run for his money for that mvp), thompson, chambers..(my pick to win this district) wartburg - shannon, goodman oneida - carson, west oakdale - currier, kilby coalfield - powers, hill sunbright - higgins
  8. 1. jellico 2. oz 3. wartburg/oneida 4. oneida/wartburg 5. oakdale 6. coalfield 7. sunbright jellico has a lot of depth, a demanding coach, and are returning a core of players who have started since their soph. year they will be loaded this team knows how to win and play together. Strong on all positions and have 3 to 4 solid players coming off the bench. Thompson and Marlow in their backcourt are a very tough duo. oz has rather who can play i think all of there other players are overrated but they are good enough to seal them a no. 2 spot. i have oneida and wartburg battling it out for 3rd this year they both lost a lot talent wise and experience wise. i believe wartburg will edge them out with shannon and goodman being solid contributors and they will win many games from their backcourt pressure. oneida on the other hand lost a lot of size and a lot of underclassmen have quit on the new coach since he came in. Carson and West will have to haul a lot of the load but i believe wartburg edges them out because they do not have a point guard and other guards are not ball handlers. oakdale has the 5 spot and they may upset either of the 2 above them on a good night. Currier is a very versatile guard and they have some size inside. They will be the team to sneak up on one of the top contenders i believe if they are not careful. coalfield has to better than they were last year returning most of their players including powers and hill who are both pretty good players. they aren't going to contend with the top teams but can beat the likes of oakdale and sunbright and may win more than a few games this year. just a little confidence could win this team a few games. sunbright to me has fallen to the lows Higgins returns at the point but he'll need a few guys to step up and play they have the least experience on the court and i believe that will hurt them.
  9. I have seen all of these teams play but rockwood. From what you say rockwood doesnt stand much of a chance but they did beat wartburg twice in the regular season. So im going opposite of everyone else and even though wartburg has home court advantage that is a great shooting gym so im saying rockwood wins this one. Grace and OZ will be one to see from what i seen the other night when oz played oneida i expect oz to come out and play tough because they jumped out 13-0 in the first and oneida came back and won by 12 thats insane how does that happen to oz! in graces game i was highly disappointed in their play but they eventually beat greenback so they are coming in off a win and they have home court advantage, this game will be close all the way through. Im gonna say Schultz blows up in this one and oz wins in OT. The oneida and greenback game should be a good one to see also. I got a chance to watch greenback play grace wednesday night, and i was impressed with them, but at the same time grace played the worst ive seen them play all year long. Oneida came out and showed they can play ball tuesday night against oz they played superior and after seeing them against oz and greenback against grace. I say oneida wins this one by 10+. Sunbright only goes 5 deep, they have 2 guys that come off the bench but in all honestly they have 5 players that are decent. Harriman is young and they have good talent and they are much more athletic than sunbright, but sunbright will slow down and play a halfcourt game with harriman, but in the end i see harriman winning cause i dont think sunbright can keep up with harrimans athelticism. So i got: OZ vs. Harriman and Oneida vs. Rockwood
  10. So you aint picking any teams from district 4 to win? Thats pretty wild. I dont see it happening like that but i also haven't seen a couple teams from the other district play so i dono what they bring to the table.
  11. Oneida will be coming off playing friday, monday, and then playing tuesday night against coalfield but from what ive seen coalfield isnt the best they have been in recent years and i think oneida will win this one.
  12. How has Oliver Springs and Sunbright been playing, earlier i read a topic where they were predicted 1 and 2 in this district..... does that sound right?
  13. Who are all the starters from last year coming back and who for scott will step up and fill in one the former starters spot. Also who do you all think will make an impact for scott this upcoming year and decide how good they do...who are their leaders, basically.
  14. Scott High is missin the key to a football team the quarterback.....they lost the only qb they even had last year. I know they got a some transfer kid but i hear that he aint as good as is hype is talked up. I will give shs this i expect them to do more than they have the last several years, but in the region they play in the teams they play might have lost alot but the teams they play also will be bringing people back and bringing people up that had to go against Harrison Smith and Dennis Rogan and Anthony Anderson everyday in practice. So im sure that Catholic, Fulton, AE, AC, and Kingston will all be tough games, and i dont even know if anybody knows what Stone Memorial has. So dont say that they will win 7 to 8 games, cuz at most with the schedule they have i think they'll go 6-4, but i think they will make the playoffs this upcoming season. They will beat wartburg, taft, stone, gibbs, livingston, and AC or Kingston, i dont see them beating Catholic, Fulton, AE. I think that AC and Kingston will be there games that decide what Shs does. It'll decide if they go 5-5, 6-4, 7-3....if they win both Scott will have one of the best seasons they've had in a while, but i expect them to split..probably beat kingston and lose to ac.
  15. haha i like that, but max you're takin some stuff a little too serious man ..now i know that 80's baller was bashing you but he wasnt tryin to tick you off just tellin you what you was doin wrong ..dont pay no attention to it man, but i think goin .500 on the indians schedule is a underachievement next season. I think we are capable of winning 18 to 20 games somewhere around there. I may be completely wrong to but its just an opinion, and miller being all district his junior year?? i dont see that max, i think he'll still be 6 or 7th man his junior year, but i could be wrong there to. mark has very good potential and improved alot this past season and i like playing with him though. I expect abbott, jeffers, orick, slaven, and freak to be the starting 5 if they all play like they can and lewallen and laxton comin off the bench for the indians next year. So with that said i've read a couple guesses on what the indians can be, but i wanna know everybody elses opinions.
  16. Box get of his back man he said it was his take...not what he has been teaching...all though the first year he coached a team to a district championship they was different than the past two seasons, more basketball knowledge, less attitude, probably less athletic, but he taught them what their role was on the team and such. the past two seasons ive seen the teams practice, they would goof off, get in fights and arguments, and im sure coach jeffers didnt like that. He has had a lot of talent here lately, but a bunch of bad attitudes, kids that are all about i. Which is why you haven't seen drawn charges, set screens, and man to man defense is because they goofed in practice and never learned it. I give him props though he has actually turned Oms basketball around the past 3 seasons and now when you see them on your schedule you dont wanna play them. In the past 3 regular seasons of middle school coach jeffers has lost 5 games. In the last two regular seasons he lost 1 game. I dont care what kinda talent he has had, without him i dont see oneida being as good. So nobody really didnt answer my question towards the first of this topic....How well do you think Oneida will do next basketball season?
  17. I think gsj was a very good coach ..he knew how everybody liked to play and tried to work around how he wanted to coach to let players play there game which led to what is now pretty much a powerhouse middle school. the last 3 years oneida has played in the district championship in the area that they play with they've won twice ..what more can you ask for? and now everybody acts like they didnt learn a thing in middle school ball? I dont understand whats so bad about playing in middle school my 7th and 8th grade year is when i peaked in being a role player on offense, i learned how to play pretty much all 5 positions and i learned a zone defense pretty good, my straight up man to man was bad when i was lazy, but in middle school you dont play much man to man. Coach Jeffers his first year didnt have that great of talent i mean their was 8th graders but now there is only one of those guys playing in high school ...just about everyplayer from his second year is playing with the exception of 2 and yes everybody has gotten better, but we all learned alot in middle school..the key stuff to know...how to play as a team, what role you have on the team, how to win, and how to take a loss. i give two thumbs up to both ms coaches and hopefully they'll continue to produce good players so the high school can keep on the winnin tradition that oneida USE to have. this past season in high school we turned around from a 8 win season to a 14 win season and i intend to help the team move up the win column some more. Good luck the next couple years coach j and coach c.
  18. well all i know is this here lately there has been a couple players playin in the gym at oneida already workin on there game for next year and i think we'll be solid we play together, everybody knows their roles on the team, and i still dont see any of the freshman contributin to the varsity games next year...the top 7 to 8 players will be in good enough shape to play the whole game unless a couple get in foul trouble and the freshman still haven't got the basketball "smarts" to play varsity, some will be on varsity but wont get to play much like some of the sophomores this past season. From playin with them in jv games and such i dont think they can play varsity yet. I expect abbot orick jeffers slaven freak laxton and lewallen to get most of the playin time like i said earlier. today several of them played for 4 hours and yesterday played for 3 hours so everybody is just workin for next year.
  19. I expect oneida to play around 7 to 8 players next year. I think abbott, orick, jeffers, slaven, freak, laxton, lewallen, and miller will play more than anyone and other than that i dont really see anybody comin off the bench to play in tight games. I think Oneida has one of the best sophomore freshman, and 8th grade classes coming up and they should be tough the next couple years, but i might be completely wrong. What do you think about it Max E.?
  20. I think wartburg wins BIG like 15 plus. I dont think Grace is near as good as anyone thinks ...they have played a cupcake schedule all year long and wartburg has played some tough teams. I think wartburg has the better posts, and guards and they will win big time in this one just like they did against rockwood.
  21. Yeah i agree...you guys were leaders like seniors should be and i just wanted to tell you all that its been a blast playing, practicing, and just shootin the bull with youns this year and good luck with anything else you guys do. Ill miss practicing with you fellers haha but...what do you all think the indians bring to the table next year for basketball. Even though were losin 4 big time players i think we'll still be in good shape if everybody comes back.
  22. coach king has done a pretty good job in his first year he coached the indians to a 14 win season and to 3rd in the district for i think its the 2nd straight year now. for him to have to start in early september as the coach i a shame though ..if he would've been here for the summer camp or just anytime during the pre-season things would have been a lot different i think. i think its just crazy that a player like benji jacobs who has played all 4 years of his high school career had to put up with the sorry crap of having 3 different coaches during that time. but what do you all think about the harriman game..scores and just the overall outcome.
  23. Great win for oneida last night, and it was a big one. Its always good to go into the region tournament with a win and not a loss because you've still got some momentum from the win and you're playing a team that is coming off a loss. Coalfield played good last night hit big shots some of the time and was down by 16 in the 3rd quarter and brung it back to around 6 but oneida was just to strong in the end. I am actually gonna disagree with you guys about one thing though. I dont think that lambert, jacobs, and crowley are the key factors for oneida to win. I expect them to bring it every night because they always perform well and are leaders to the team. I think for oneida to win their other players have to have good games. Oneida plays better when abbotts controlling the rebounds and Christisansen is knocking down the 12 to 20 foot jumpshot and jeffers is knocking down the 3 pointers and keepin the turnovers low. If those 3 and the other players off the bench for indians are playing well then oneida will win. Jacobs, Lambert, and Crowley all have a big factor to do with it, but those other players is what keeps them 3 in the leader situation for them to score, d-up, and lead oneida to wins.
  24. oneida is playing oz tomorrow night to see who goes to the district championship game. oneida beat oakdale by 20 or so last night and oz got the first round bye.
