I admire that you are 100 % behind your team, when the odds point the other way.It reminds me of the cavs fans before last years riverdale game. and regarding the comment about that cavs need to grow taller and put on 75 lbs. Since when does size when a football game. I believe its going to be a good game and close for most the game. I hope it is a thriller like the game 3 years ago when gus paxton scored with a few seconds left at cookeville for the win. That was one of the greatest high school games i have ever seen

Good point, but the people i was talking about were the sparta fans that are over confident on their chances to win friday. I hope we do see a good game . This rivalry game is always a hard fought game, but some of the fans were talking like cookeville didn't have a chance and that they were the team with the big winning streak

ooltewah is definatly one of the best in the state. They had a very good running back and sparta doesn't have anything close to him. The only wasy he got his yards was by screen passes. Those scrimmages are there to learn from and that's what we did learn and improved. We even made a couple of changes in the starting line-up. They had 2 games going at once at the scrimmage so it wasnt like those teams put on long drives on us. The game against oak ridge, we were beat in the secondary on 2 out of the 3 plays, but they have changed the secondary up to prevent those long passes. The game against MBA was a touchdown to a touchdown, we just missed a pat. You want some reasons why we will win. Shane Bates is a beast and he will be reeling off some big runs. Most people are really underestimating taylor hennigan he has the skills to be a very good quarterback. We also have a defense that doesn't give up much. Best of all we have one of the best coaching staffs in the state. the only injury i know of is will enochs with a broken nose, but i am tired of talking. Friday is not going to come soon enough and maybe after the game 1st reporter will see what were exited about in cookeville.

Every year White co. fans say the same thing. "This is the Year." The cavs proved they could play with the best in the state and you are still not giving them any credit. I'm not saying the Cavs are going to dominate, but I really can't see them losing this game. They are going to come hungry for a win.

Since when is white co. more talented than cookeville? and observer how long did it take you to think of Crookeville Cavagirls. It got old after the first post you used it in. Cookeville wins this one easily

Thank You! Cookeville and Sparta are bitter rivals so sportsmanship may not be too much of a priority when these two teams line up. but for the most part the cavs are pretty classy

Cookeville might not be a powerhouse yet, but 2 district championships in 2 years is a good foundation for becoming one.

I am getting sick and tired of everybody judging this cookeville team by losing 32 seniors last yr. Most of those seniors never played until we were up by 4 touchdowns. There were only about 10 seniors that contributed last year because most of them played both sides of the ball. Now i'm not saying the Cavs are going to shock ooltewah but there not going to roll over and die like most of you are saying. They are young and inexperienced but joslin and the staff will have them ready to go by friday

i would have to pick brentwood but i hear coffe co has a good team this yr i cant wait till they come to cookeville and play

Tough loss Cavs . Great game played by both teams. siegel just ended up making the big play. Keep getting better as a team and pull off the win on their home court next time.

This is great for the Wildcats . Coming into the playoffs they had lost most of their close games , and now they are winning all of the close ones .I definantly did not forsee this. Wilson cates is incredible in the few minutes i listened to the game he scored a touchdown intercepted a pass and ran in back the next play and scored the 2 point conversion then later on the next drive he recovered a fumble!!!!! GOOD LUCK in the championship game

That is really sad , like he said Riverdaleman we appreciate you not just rubbing it in . That last minute drive for Riverdale was beautiful and exactly what cavs fans like me feared of. Gaston proved to be just like everyone talked him up to be, and Vanderbilt is lucky to have him in the years to come. Now that our football is done hopefully our basketball team can start winning.

Congratualtions Cavs on an outstanding season. It's been a pleasure watching you guys this year, you were the only team we could count on this year to go out and give it your all. I couldn't be more proud of how classy the players, coaches, and fans were though we lost. Cookeville fans don't give excuses , we lost and thats it. All i have to say to the sports reporters is that when Riverdale does finally lose and your feeling this hurt, your going to wish people weren't insulting your team. Fuggs, squad, stlrcoach, and many others i've had fun this season talking Cavalier football, hope you'll all be posting again next year. THANK YOU SENIORS.

In the other thread riverdaleman said "before the game our team is usually very "professional" and this is another business trip for them " This I think is the X-factor for the cavs. This means alot more to the Cavs . Riverdale fans can say all they want about it meaning alot, but if they aproach Cookeville as just another buisness trip, then they won't know where there "buisness deal" went wrong. This is the only second time in school history the cavs have made it to the quarterfinals of the playoffs and this is the biggest game these guys have ever played in, so they will aproach this game with alot of emotion, and will show Riverdale they are not just any regular "buisness".

No wilson cental at 55% Cookeville 45% . Lavergne had 20% and Cookeville had 80% , which was a surprise to me since so many people were saying lavergne was going to upset cookeville

These boys have been thought of as pretenders for a couple of games this year, so they're used to it and use it as motivation. Is it just me or has this week been going by slow in anticipation for this game. This Cavs team has gotten most of Cookeville anticipating this game, so my advice tailgate and show up very early if you want a good seat. By the way sports reporters I didnt read your post wrong , I was just sayin Cookeville has been called a pretender.
