  1. Not sure what all the issues are at FC but allow me to share what I have heard...Of course they lost a lot of key components to graduation, they lost their best reciever/safety to an ACL, they lost their OC to another school along with at least one defensive coach. While it is a big win for Kenwood on paper, they beat a very depleted FC team and I wouldn't put much stock in the win. I believe that Kenwood is getting better, just not sure they are on the level of Henry Co. right now.
  2. How about just the opposite. Ft. Campbell comes into Clarksville and steals the "Army brats" in the city. How do they do this? They put the family on the housing list to get on base. As long as the family is on the housing list, the kid can attend FC high school. Then, when a house pops up on base, all the family has to do is go look at it, say they don't like it, and they are bumped back to the bottom of the list and the kid remains enrolled at FC. When you play on the 2A level in KY and you have the pick of Clarksville, Hopkinsville, Fort Campbell, and the ENTIRE US Army, you are bound to win multiple state championships in a row.
  3. I've seen the Knights and I've seen the Bears. Let me say this... Bears win this one BIG!!!
  4. I don't believe I said they were the "clear cut favorite". I believe I said that right now they are at the top. You would say the same if you knew what YOU were talking about. Obviously you are speaking from past experience. Well guess what... The times have changed, and Rossview should be good since they have 1900 kids in the building. Everyone else's numbers drop due to new schools being built and rezoning issues yet Rossview seems to gain kids. Fastcat, the past is exactly that, and if you DON'T know what you are talking about, do us all a favor and stay off of here. Wingman, I agree with you that anything can happen on any given Friday. I think what the Kenwood coach was saying was that it was going to be another match up where Kenwood would be facing a really good opponent that had a very successful year last year.
  5. I have just a few things to say(And as you can see, I rarely ever do) so here goes: 1. Fastcat - SHUT YOUR MOUTH! You are obviously someone who likes to talk a lot of smack without backing it up. Reminds me of some of the Kenwood players I used to know. 2. Wingman - Don't be so quick to write the Knights of just yet. The season is still young and the new "district" is WEAK. I see Rossview at the top with Henry possibly second. Everyone else will be fighting it out week to week. 3. oooooooo - Easy with the prediction!!! 49-7? Seems to me that the Knights were beaten by the 2 time defending state champs in KY in Class AA. And let me tell you, Ft. Campbell is better than they have EVER been. I know, I've seen them. As for Henry County, they barely beat Humboldt (Class A). The score was 7-6 at the half!!! If Humboldt had ANY depth, it would have been a tighter game than it turned out. I know... I saw the game. So let's be easy when making such a BOLD prediction. And as for contending for the state title... WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! They will probably make the playoffs again, but I doubt they'll have the run they did last year. As for Friday night... I think it will be a good match up between two teams that have the tools to have very successful seasons. Good luck to both teams and I hope I get to make it. Paris is quite a drive when you have an early day on Saturday.
  6. Portland is down this year and I heard they lost their quarterback the other night. Mt. Juliet wins this one easily but Coach Perry won't let it become "out of hand". Mt. Juliet - 35 Portland - 6
  7. ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?!?! Maybe game of the week in Clarksville. The game of the year in town will be the Kenwood-Clarksville match-up on October 19th. The game of the year in the region will be the Kenwood-Mt. Juliet match-up the week before that. I could be wrong though. This could be the game of the year if you are a Viking fan. They always look forward to playing the Knights. Not making a prediction on the score but I will say that the Knights win this one and win this one BIG!!!
  8. This could be a very good game. Beech is always a tough region opponent for anyone they face. However, I went to the Kenwood game last week and let me say this: THEY LOOK GOOD!!! Better than I saw them look at all last year. And this was just the first game. I'm sure the boys from Beech will bring it but if Kenwood has had a decent week of practice, this one could be over before the start of the 4th quarter. Good luck to both schools and hopefully I'll be there to watch.
  9. I don't know how many Kenwood players get on here but listen up. I'm calling you guys out. It's time to step up. This is a big game this week. I don't know much about Springfield but I know that if you play the football you played a few weeks ago, you can hang with anybody in the region. You proved that even in a horribly officiated game, that you could hang with Clarksville. So step up against Springfield and prove that you belong at the top! I hope I can make it to the game to see how you guys do, but in case I don't make it, good luck. PLAY HARD!
  10. What the heck are you talking about?!! Make the playoffs AND dominate? This is absurd! You still have 3 tough region games ahead of you. Two of which are undefeated in the region. Beech is better than their record shows too. You have a tough game friday with Kenwood who is playing some really good football right now. Then let's say you play hard and beat Beech. Clarksville is a darn good football team as well. You'll struggle with them. I'll give you NW because they are having some serious issues. That puts you at 3-4 in the region which probably won't get you in. But if it does, you're on the road first round playing against a region that dominated 6-4A last year. So don't feed everyone the bologna that you're frying. I for one ain't buying!
  11. HMMM... Something to consider? http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/high...d.ap/index.html
  12. The Vikings have a horrible run defense. I'm not so sure that they could stop some JV teams. With the back that CHS has and the way they run that option, NW doesn't stand a chance in this one. So to answer the question about the first win... NO! It doesn't matter that they've had 2 weeks to prepare. They could have the rest of the season to prepare for one game and they still wouldn't get a W. NW has some serious issues to work out before they will win a game and those issues will not get worked out this year. Sorry, truth hurts sometimes.
  13. Where is everybody this week? I realize that this is not as big of a rival as Kenwood and NW but come on. There is still a little bit of animosity there, especially between the coaches if I remember correctly from last year. I guess everyone is picking Kenwood in this one since nobody has said anything about NE winning this week. Kenwood 27 - NE 7
  14. I have no problem talking football. And i wasn't trying to attack anyone. I was just appauled by some of the things being said and just wanted to speak my mind on those comments and now I'm done with that. I agree with you Coach Chris, Kenwood does have some talented athletes. Like you said, they have two quarterbacks that are among the best in Clarksville in my mind. I've really been impressed by their defense. Didn't they lose their D-line from last year? And to come back this year and start off the way they have just shows that the D coordinator is doing his job. Good luck to both teams tonight and I'm looking forward to being there.
  15. And I just had to reply to this one. I know that if I were a coach I would be offended. You may be able to say that Coach Chris is a DECENT coach, but don't seperate him and put him on a pedestal. There are a lot of coaches in this town and to seperate him and say he's the best in the city just shows your lack of football knowledge. By the way, Kenwood takes this one easily.
