  1. It sounds as if Farragut ought to have the advantage overall, but needs to be wary of some big plays from the QB and WRs. I am encouraged about what I've heard thus far about Farragut's defense. It sounds like it may be better than last year. We do have an good experienced QB, but we are replacing the other playmakers on offense. Hope the O-line and D-lines are good, because that's really where it counts. Good Luck Bears. Based on what I've heard, I'm gonna guess the Ads can win this one something like 35-14.
  2. Anybody know anything about Bradley Central? Do the Admirals have cause for concern, or should they be able to handle this game?
  3. Farragut moved the ball really well in the first half but credit to Maryville’s D in that they were able to come up with plays at just the right times to keep Farragut from finishing drives with points. That plus the early turnover in the 2nd half really sealed the Admirals’ fate. Maryville’ offense is really good too. Congrats to Maryville. Still proud of the Ads for a really great season. While we’re not as good as Maryville, we are at least the 2nd best team in the East.
  4. Well I don’t expect the “pinbawl masheen” to work quite as well against a team like the Rebs. Just hoping we can score enough, and slow the Rebs down enough, to make it a game and give ourselves a chance at an upset. Hopefully, Muiravul comes out a little flat, and underestimates the Admirals.
  5. That was about as dominant an offensive performance as you can get. Farragut scores a TD on every single possession! Hard to do better than that! Way to go Ads! If the Ads play this well next week they may have an outside shot at an upset!
  6. Yes. More than anything, the terrible game plan cost Farragut against Bearden. Farragut’s best offensive player #15 didn’t get many touches at all, and not a single one in the first half.
  7. Why would you or any Maryville fan pull so hard for the Owls? I wouldn’t think it’s because of fearing that Maryville would have to play Farragut in the Qtrs. It always amazes me why everyone seems to always pull so hard against Farragut.
  8. Ooltewah can beat Farragut, but they will have to play great and Farragut will have to play a subpar game like they did against Bearden IMO. If Farragut plays its best, then they will win solidly no matter what the Owls do.
  9. Judging by common opponents, which include Hardin Valley, Science Hill, Bradley and McMinn, I think the Admirals will win this game by a couple of scores. However, if the Ads don’t come ready to play, plat flat, or have a terrible game plan, such as they did with Science Hill and Bearden, they could easily slip up and lose this game. They really shouldn’t as I think they have shown themselves to be an overall better team this year, but it most certainly could happen.
  10. I’m so glad to hear it wasn’t too serious! Good luck to HVA in the playoffs!
  11. How ‘bout ‘dem Admirals all you doubters? !!! Close one against HV y’all said? I don’t know why everybody always seems to either strongly root against Farragut, or sell them short and not give them the respect and credit they are due for being a really good team and program. They were by far the dominant team in Region 1. Without having been cheated by the officials in the Bearden game, they would be undefeated. Furthermore, 7 of their 10 games were blowout wins. It seems to me that it’s time to give some props to the Region 1 champs! PS: If someone hears about the status of the HV player who was carted off please update us. It looked really bad. Praying that it’s not nearly as bad as it looked.
  12. Erik, it would be better if it wasn't during fall break. So much school spirit goes into this rivalry, with the whole Farragut Farmers thing, so it would be better if school was in session. Also Erik, I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your broadcasts, along with your color guy, whose name I forget. I don't like in the Knoxville area anymore, so my connection to the program is your broadcast and the streaming service. You guys do such a great job and I really enjoy it!!!
  13. My apologies, I stand corrected. I guess it's only been over the last 3-4 years, counting this year, that Farragut has been a slightly better program. After looking up the records, I see that my perception was wrong and that D-B has actually been very good up until around 2012 or so. Of course they also do have a significant heads up lead against Farragut, which can't be denied. As has been noted by others, Farragut didn't start playing until 1947, and was never really much good at all until the late 70s. Since then however, Farragut has consistently been a good program and at times a great program. I guess some Farragut fans, including myself, feel that this sometimes gets overlooked by opponents and Farragut isn't given the appropriate amount of respect. It could perhaps be argued that even a few posters in the course of this thread were lacking a proper respect for Farragut as they stand currently as a program. I guess that was what spurred some of my comments.
  14. Well, it is a rivalry game I guess due to the proximity of the schools, but Farragut usually has the upper hand in the series. Now and then the Bulldogs can jump up and bite however. If Farragut doesn't play well, that could very well happen this time, as the Bulldogs are a pretty decent team. Farragut needs to stay focused and play like they are capable of playing. If that happens, I see Farragut winning this game comfortably something like 28-10 or 35-14. The score may also depend upon whether or not Farragut's starting QB can play this week.
  15. D-B may be the 2nd winningest football team all time (all time wins) in the state of TN, but that is probably more due to being one of the oldest programs in the state. They haven't won anything significant since at least the 1960's. Most of their massive amount of wins also, are against a bunch of poor competition over the years in Upper East Tennessee, playing the likes of smaller schools like Sullivan North, Sullivan Central, Sullivan East, Elizibethton, Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone, Volunteer, etc, etc. The only decent competition over the decades up there consistently has been Science Hill, and Tennessee High.
  16. That may be true, however, in recent history (a.k.a after 2000 and especially after 2010) Farragut is by far the better program. The last time D-B made it past the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs, I think Nixon was president!!!
  17. Erik, Any word on Farragut's starting QB Wilkinson? I'm hoping he won't miss any games. He's definitely a better passer than our backup.
  18. Yeah, it definitely could have been worse if our starting QB wasn't cheap shotted. He's a much better passer than our backup QB. Nevertheless, D-B just wasn't capable of hanging with Farragut.
  19. It was 14-0 Farragut, then 14-7 and Farragut came close to making it 21-7 at the half but ran out of time. Then in the 2nd half The Ads poured it on. Regardless of how it happened, it was as I expected a dominant Farragut win. Without the blocked punt giving D-B a stupid late score, Farragut wins by 4 TD's.
  20. How you feeling about that score prediction now blazer? Nice job Admirals! Beat D-B every bit as bad as Alcoa and Oak Ridge did.
  21. 9- 1 would be a fantastic season, but it would be a disappointment to lose a regular season game at this point, because it would be because we didn't play our best. There is nobody left on our schedule that we shouldn't beat and beat solidly. As for the playoffs, assuming we do not upset Maryville as we likely wouldn't, there would certainly be no shame in that because that's just getting beat by a better team and program.
  22. I've watched Farragut all year long, and while they likely would not beat Maryville, I believe they could possibly play Maryville a fairly competitive game. I don't consider it impossible that under the right circumstances, (i.e. turnovers) Farragut could pull an upset. Their one common opponent was McMinn County, and Farragut beat McMinn by 40, while Maryville only beat them by 28. As for Region 1, Farragut is by far the best team in the region. Hopefully they will play like they are capable and finish out 10-0. They should.
  23. blazer, if both Farragut and D-B play up to their potential, then Farragut will still win this game by at least 14 points and probably more. Farragut is just an overall better team than D-B. Now, could D-B pull an upset? Sure, if Farragut is flat or doesn't play well or turns the ball over a bunch. Otherwise, Farragut wins. As for the rest of D-B's schedule, based on what we've seen out of D-B so far this year, there is no way any of those games are "slam dunks" for D-B.
  24. I don't agree with you at all. Farragut, if they stay focused and don't take anything for granted, is by far the best team in Region 1 and should be able to run the table. Farragut has dominated everyone they have played except for Oak Ridge and Science Hill. That's not to say that they couldn't suffer an upset. Any of the 3 teams left on their schedule (D-B, Bearden, and Hardin Valley) could upset them, if they come out flat, or play down to the level of the competition.
  25. Well, I don't know about that but I will say Farragut better stay focused and not take DB lightly or they could be beaten. They mentally let down or something in the 2nd half against Science Hill and lost a 20-0 lead and had to squeak by on a late FG 23-21. Can't let that happen again.
