  1. The only thing in your entire post that is correct is that Eddie Courtney is certainly "holier than thou", thou meaning you. Eddie Courtney is an excellent football coach and a fine godly man, who was an exceptional leader and example to young men for many decades. You sir, and your disrespectful comments are utterly despicable. By the way, Bearden could win for the next 20 years and still not even the series against Farragut. Bearden always has been, and always will be, Farragut's inferior West Knox little brother.
  2. How ‘bout dem Admirals!!! They beat Maryville and the refs, who tried their best to rob Farragut! It’s a shame one of the close district losses didn’t go our way and we miss the playoffs, but this is a great win to close the season!
  3. Well, if that is true, then Farragut has no chance, even with a Maryville upset. There is absolutely no way HVA is beating Cleveland. What a sad disappointing season for the Admirals.
  4. Playoff Question: If by slim chance, Farragut is able to upset Maryville, and assuming Cleveland beats Hardin Valley, all 3 teams would have the same 2-3 district record. That means 3 teams for the 3rd and 4th district playoff spots. In this situation, what does the TSSAA use as the tie breaker? In this scenario, head to head could not be used, because all 3 teams will have beaten one another. (farragut over maryville, maryville over cleveland, and cleveland over farragut) Just trying to figure out whether or not farragut even has a remote chance still to make the playoffs. Thanks.
  5. How good are the Blue Raiders this year? What are their strengths / weaknesses? How do folks view this game? Who has the edge?
  6. Does anyone have a good feel for how strong Powell might be this year? Can the Admirals hang with them? Hoping the Ads can win another close one at home.
  7. First of all genius, Farragut has already won a state championship before in 2016. Secondly, they've been to the semi-finals 3 or 4 other times. They are anything but soft. They are most known over the years for having large lines, especially on offense, that are physical. Where they may lack at times is having speed on defense. It doesn't sound like you know very much.
  8. I like D-B in a close one in this game. D-B wins 28-21.
  9. Do the Admirals have any reason to be concerned about the Patriots? I don't know much about Jefferson County. What are their strengths and weaknesses? Anyone have any thoughts on this game?
  10. Yes, they had some playmaker athletes last year as I recall. I hope they're gone too !!! Anybody with a decent running game and decent offensive line, will give Farragut lots of trouble. Farragut's front 7 is really struggling, and I've watched every game.
  11. Good for you G-Daddy for being a stand up guy after your "out there" prediction that was fairly disrespectul to Farragut. While the score ended up looking like a blowout for Farragut, it really wasn't. Farragut is the better team, but it was OR mistakes that made things look worse than they were for OR. Good luck to the Cats the rest of the way.
  12. I don't know much about Cleveland, but they always seem to play Farragut extremely tough. I would hope the Ads could win this one with a good game on offense, but Farragut's defense is struggling bad up front. If Cleveland can run the ball at all, which is Farragut's defensive weakness, I would expect a pretty close game. I'll say: Farragut 28 - Cleveland - 24
  13. G Daddy, I stand corrected. You said it would be a blowout and I didn’t believe you. It was a blowout after all !!! You called it!!! Great job!!!
  14. How ridiculous does your post look now? Ads 24 - OR zilch !
  15. Naaaaaaa, don't be so hard on your team GDaddy. It won't be a blowout. Farragut is a little down on defense this year. Farragut will likely only only beat the Mildcats by something like 35-28. Go Ads !!!
  16. How ‘bout ‘dem Ads!!! Great win over a good Beech team. Beech’s coaches lost the game for them on their last two possessions. Poor play calling and horrible clock management. Farragut needs to find some better answers on the D-line. Offense looks good other than the two picks.
  17. All of these people saying "rules are rules" is simply idiotic. This situation with (no punches thrown and no real fight taking place) is exactly why you never have a one size fits all set of policies or rules. It's the same with these idiotic "zero tolerance" policies that moron liberals just love to put into place in schools and workplaces. It's lazy and it takes out the responsibility to look at each situation and it's circumstances individually and make proper judicious decisions accordingly.
  18. I’m very proud of the Admirals for putting up such a good fight in this game. I didn’t think they would be able to be competitive for more than a half, but they took it right down to the wire and had a chance if they could have stopped that last 3rd and long. Congratulations to Maryville for advancing. Good luck against Oakland.
  19. Hopefully the Ads can hang in this game for a while, at least until halftime. Here's a friendly question for all you Rebsters: Does the University of Maryville go by the NCAA 85 scholarship limit, or do they just follow the old Bear Bryant method of recruiting? Asking for a friend!
  20. All of the coaches that have been mentioned thus far in this thread have been really good or great high school coaches. I just thought I would throw out a few names that coached at Farragut that perhaps deserve mention in this thread as well. Three are long time current or former Tennessee High School coaches, and the other didn't coach high school long, but was truly great. Eddie Courtney - Farragut 1996 - Current Buddy Fisher - Morristown East, Knoxville Carter, and Farragut Dan Bland - Tullahoma, Farragut, Jackson Central-Merry, Columbia Central, Milan, Humboldt Ken Sparks - Morristown East, Farragut
  21. Anybody know anything about West this year? What do they have coming back and how good are they supposed to be?
  22. Well, Farragut's defense didn't look all that great to me against Bradley. They looked slow, and missed a lot of tackles. The offense however, looked pretty good to me against Bradley, outside of the turnovers that is. Playing West is always a little scary because they usually have really good athletes and good team speed that gives Farragut trouble. Maybe it's just me but Farragut looks slower overall as a team this year then they have in the last several years. I mean Farragut is never a blazing speed team, but they just look kinda slower than usual to me. I hope this doesn't bite them in a few games this year, but I fear it might.
  23. Would somebody be kind enough to give the lowdown on West? I see that they won a close one against Bearden. What's expected of West this year? What are their strengths and weaknesses? What kind of athletes do they have? Are they better on offense or defense? I know Farragut struggled some with the athleticism, elusiveness and speed of Bradley's QB and backs, but Bradley is supposed to be really good this year on offense. Should Farragut expect the same from West? Let's get some talk going West fans!
  24. Heck of an exciting close ballgame, but a lot of mistakes on both sides. Bradley has some scary good athletes in the backfield, especially that QB. Man is he elusive and hard to tackle! Almost every time we got pressure on him he seemed to escape and make a huge play. Farragut struggled on D because we just didn’t have the speed and athleticism to match Bradley’s skill players. So glad to see the Admirals even up the turnovers in the 2nd half. That saved our bacon! Glad to escape with a win. Good game Bears and good luck until the playoffs!
