  1. Can they be a force in Upper East TN A ball? Sure they can. When there is not many good teams in A ball in upper East TN. Cloudland won't be as good. Hampton is a big question mark. North Green has been down for many years. University High, well, they're University High. So a team that is not very good can still be a "force" in upper East TN A ball. Can they play with the better teams in the area. Now that will be a hard task for them. Cycle seems to be on a downward slide for the creek. So again to answer your question, The "force" will always be with them.
  2. krich, love your postive outlook, but do you really think Oliver can be a 30 point scorer? Maybe if Kelly only lets her shoot. Sure she is a decent player but not quite that good. Hampton will be ok but they weren't that good last year so what makes you think they will be a lot better? Just because you return everyone doesn't make you good. Of course that conference will be down from years past so they might contend for the title but don't know exactly how good they will be. What is the trouble up on the mountain? They seem to go through that a lot. Just remember some problems they went through last year. Do you have any more information? You have mention everyone on coacht except the Lady Warriors. How about some insight on them. Can they play with the mighty Cyclones? After a poor showing last year will it be any better? And keep us updated on the creek. Have you seen them play any yet? Will be looking for that positive reply from you.
  3. Haven't seen anything on the Lady Rangers and Lady Highlanders. Last year that's all we read. Where are you? Have you dropped basketball? Just wondering how things are going and what they look like this year.
  4. Don't think the Valley plays such tough teams as Clinch and Washburn. Only the loaded single A division with Hampton, Unaka and Cloudland gets to test their skills against teams such as those.
  5. From I've seen and heard he's pretty much just a shooter. Not sure he fits into the "team" mode, which should have worked well for last years' team so I'm not sure why he didn't play more. Morgan should be a good addition for them but again after sitting out how long will it take him to regain some basketball form. This should give them 7 or 8 players that could contribute. Wouldn't look for much help beyond that. Would like for someone to give some details on the team and players itself. Would think after this Friday football will be over so they can start concentrating on basketball.
  6. That would be a shame if he doesn't play but if he doesn't want to be out there then he shouldn't play. I heard that the Morgan kid was coming back out this year. Any truth to that? After the lay off don't know if he could get back into basketball form or not. Could use him if Caldwell doesn't play. Lack of depth will really get them this year. A good senior class but not much help from the underclassmen.
  7. Hadn't heard that one. Would be a major to blow to their scoring offense. Don't think they'd miss him too much on defense. Can't think of anyone that could pick up the slack if he didn't play. Still a major concern must be their inside game also. Anyone know of who they are looking at for that job?
  8. How will the boys from Happy Valley be this year? Know they lost some key players from a disppointing team last year. Will things be any better this year? A lot of talk on here last year on good the Warriors were going to be and it didn't turn out that way. Can this year be better? Who will handle the inside game for them this year? Very interested to find out what the Valley faithful are thinking.
  9. To EastTn: I don't see where winning 15 or 16 games a year makes you successful. You didn't mention any conference championships (except 1 district championship, which they won in a down year for the conference) or trips to the state tournament. Maybe some of those wins came against lesser opponents. And playing someone close is still a loss. I'm not saying he will not do a good job (I hope he does) but saying he won 15 or 16 games a year also means he lost 15 or 16 games a year. Only time will tell the story on Weems. Just don't think Elizabethton can stand the graduation losses. Sure they will be able to beat the teams they should beat but just don't think they can play with the upper level teams that apply pressure. Think they handle the rebounding loss and maybe even make up with the steals and defense they got from Redd from being a better "team" defensively but not sure who will handle the pressure load. Maybe Coachh can give some insight to this area.
  10. They may improve some because the conference will not be as strong as last year. Just don't expect a whole lot of improvement. Don't think Norman will be able to do the job on the inside. Can't tell anything about what goes on in the summer with other teams. May find something out about yourself but not other teams, so don't put much stock in summer victories. Wilson will have a hard time getting the players to do the right things. Maybe I can be proven wrong but just don't look for it to happen.
  11. Don't think the Cyclones will be any better than last year. Coach Wilson is not any better than Coach Hardin. Know Coach Wilson wanted to coach boys but think he is in for a rude awakening. There only chance is if Coach Wilson will let Coach Dugger do most of the coaching. Even though a couple of good teams left the conference Greene county is a very hard place to play. Can't look for many wins down there. Unless the schedule is much weaker than last year don't look for them to do much better. He should have stayed with the girls.
  12. Not so sure the Lady Cyclones will be able to handle the loss of Baughman. If you noticed in last years games each time the Cyclones needed someone to handle the ball it had to be her. Can't see anyone being able to do that this year. Sure they will have a good inside game but if you can't get the ball up the floor or into an offense that won't really matter. Not so sure about Coach Weems either. Remember his days in Greene county. Wasn't so successful there. Maybe one or two good years. Do you think he will be able to handle the other Cyclone coaching staff (parents)? Tough group. Not wanting to put the Lady Cyclones down just have a lot of questions to be answered. Fill us in coachh and corner with what you think.
