  1. He played baseball all year. Went to 2 practices all year before baseball ended, and by that time, it was sectionals. He basically ran a 4:52 1600 and 2:07 800 on talent alone.
  2. That a way to show respect.
  3. That a way to make excuses. Your "team" is full of people who don't care about the other teammates. They do what they want to do. And that cost them, at least in your eyes, a chance to do well at state. There are no excuses for a team like that.
  4. Mahaney is a whole lot better than Cole.
  5. I don't know anything about the girls, so I'll just predict the winning times for boys 3200: 9:41.7 1600: 4:27.3 800: 1:58.1 4x800: 8:12.9
  6. It is time to make our official predictions for the results of the A/AA State Meet. 100: Adrian Bentley 200: Brandon Byrum (This would be Bentley, but I'm guessing the upset after Bentley has the 400 in his legs) 400: Adrian Bentley 800: Either Kyle Patterson or Jeremiah Bland 1600: Ryan Johnson 3200: David Clabo 110 Hurdles: Justin Fuqua 300 Hurdles: Orlandus Harris High Jump: Harrison Smith Pole Vault: Ryan Cook Long Jump: Zach Rogers Triple Jump: Harrison Smith Shot Put: Tavaris Jeffries Discus: Justin Parris 4x100: Howard 4x200: Howard 4x400: Austin-East 4x800: FRA Decathlon: Stephen Jones
  7. Yeah, Byrum is quite a beast. Should double in state. Also, in that open 800, Patterson and Johnson both got terribly boxed in on the first lap. They could barely move.
  8. Calvin Johnson is 6'4 and ran a 4.39 40. Calvin Johnson is also one of the best athletes in the entire country and this Abshire kid should not even be compared to him. Anyways, these 40 times are handtimed and ridiculous. When Ben Johnson ran his 9.79 100 meter dash in the 1980's, he came through his first 40 yards in 4.37 seconds. So anyone who claims to run any 40's as fast as that are liars and stupid.
  9. Being tall actually would make you a slower sprinter. I'm not saying that all tall people are slow, but the fact that he is so tall does make his acceleration a lot slower, making it much harder to win a 100 or 200 meter race.
  10. For some reason I can't remember this guys name, but there was a runner that went to Hunter's Lane about 4 or 5 years ago that was amazing. Scored something like 53 points in the state meet. I think his name was Sean Waller or something.
  11. Byron Massengill from franklin county runs the 100 in 10.2 That's total ########. I'm sorry, but if you are dumb enough to believe that, then I have already lost all respect for you and I don't even know who you are.
  12. How do you know he's had no speed work since February?
  13. HAHA, McClassic /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  14. I was unaware that the 4x200, 4x100, and hurdles were field events. That's new information to me. And also, if you have never heard of Clay Adams or the other runners he spoke of, then you really don't know anything about track. Say all you want about not caring about the middle section or something, but that's just an excuse you're trying to use to save your dignity on these boards. And you also might be the dumbest person on this board to think that when someone gives times of 9:46, 9:57, and 10:08, that they are 100 meter times. You do realize that first of all, because of the colon, that's not even how you write a 100 meter time. And second of all, even if that were how you wrote a 100 meter time, those first two times would be world records. Come talk to me when you know what the heck you're talking about and you're not just being some ignorant ###### who only wants to talk about his own team's greatness.
  15. I once saw a unicorn with my own eyes. Do you believe me? Probably not. Just because I say I saw it does not make it true. I'm not gonna call you a liar, because I don't know if you are or not. But if you don't have any real proof except for your own eyes at practice, then it is hard to believe you.
  16. How was I brought into this? I can assure you my name isn't Zach.
  17. Any year after someone like GJ graduates would seem like a weak year.
  18. If anyone has any updates on times, meets, etc. then post them here. Also, as the season goes along, please post your state predictions in here as well. I am only really knowledgable in the distance area, so I will only post my predictions for those events. 3200: Clabo 1600: Mahaney 800: Patterson 4x800: David Lipscomb
  19. Stephanie Evans. Won state and went undefeated her freshman year at FRA, but quit because the competition wasn't any good abd just played travel for her sophomore and junior years. She is now back on the team and will win state easily.
