  1. "Stone memorial i have played them and if all they got who they put on the field when i was playing then they arent going to be that competitive." Interesting!!!
  2. This would alleviate a lot of concerns, if your source is correct, the public is being told: At the Oct. 7 BOE meeting, a motion was made by 9th District representative Dan Schlafer that SMHS open next year with those freshmen, sophomores and juniors that are zoned for the school. The motion was supported by 3rd District representative Shirley Parris and passed by a unanimous vote of the board.
  3. Thanks for your reply. When I said "I don't know that he is college football material" I wasn't saying he's not an exceptional athlete I was saying I don't know what it takes to be a college player nor do I know that much about JV/V that is why I posted to start with. So lets say he is an exceptional athlete and he only gets to play Jr. Varsity schedule his junior year would he still get the recognition he would if he were playing as a Varsity player? I overheard a coach say "if a player is trying to get a football scholarship they need to have a really good junior season". Just trying to find out how it might effect his chances and get some answers.
  4. He says the seniors are being polled to see if there will be enough for a senior class and they will probably have a choice but the freshman, sophmores and juniors zoned for that shcool will not. You would think if it was going to impact the juniors the school system would give them a choice also. Which gets back to the original question how important is it for juniors to play varsity football if they plan on playing beyond high school?
  5. He's a pretty good player, very ambitious, works really hard. I don't know that he is college football material but he is planning to go and would like to play football. He has talked about trying to get a football scholarship but he realizes that chances are slim maybe even slimmer if he doesn't get to play varsity his junior year??????? He and some of the other players are wondering if they have a choice?????? I don't know what to tell him. Who could he talk to and get some straight answers? No one in Crossville seems to want to discuss it. Just sit back and see what happens kinda thing. If these guys do that it may really mess them up.
  6. I am not very familiar with varsity or jr. varsity programs and what they mean to the player. I have a friend that plays football he is a sophmore this year and will be a junior next year. He lives in Crossville and they will open a new high school next year but the new school will not have a varsity football team, the first year, they will only play a jr. varsity schedule. He will be zoned for this new school. How will it effect him if he doesn't get to play varsity football in his junior year?
