  1. This is correct. It's 1st and 2nd are automatics, into their playoff bracket (3A or 4A). In 3AA, if Polk finished #1 and Central finished #2, Sequoyah would rely on a wildcard. And TynerRamFAn, I didn't mean to slight Tyner, I think it's more likely that they do finish 2nd, and East Ridge, Central, Howard, Red Bank, and Brainerd would all have to get in by wildcard, determined by the 18 point ranking system.
  2. I believe it is still 1st and 2nd place in the district are automatically in, regardless of 3A or 4A. The remainder of the field for each (3A and 4A) playoff bracket is filled based on the 18 point ranking system. So for district 6AA, if Hixson(4A) finishes #1 and East Ridge (4A) finishes #2, Tyner would have to get a "wildcard" playoff spot into the 3A playoffs based on the 18 point rankings. After the 32 playoff teams are determined, the quads are created (based on geography???), then the 8 teams in each Quad are seeded. I think district champs are seeded 1st, then runner ups, then wildcards.
  3. McCentral by several points! Meigs seems to be in complete disarray. The Tigers shouldn't be much of an obstacle for the Chargers.
  4. Can little 3A Polk compete with big 6A Walker Valley? Polk is 4-0 against WV since the series began. Average score is 39-14. WV seems to be trending in the right direction, but were they exposed against Bradley? Thoughts from the gurus? This may be a slow thread, since WV doesnt seem to have a coacht presence.
  5. Great game! Polk made the stops in the 2nd half when they had to have it. Central really controlled Polks offense. That was the best defense Polk has faced. Central is heading in the right direction. Y'all just couldn't overcome the first half mistakes. I think you guys can go 5-5, or win out at 6-4 and give someone trouble in the playoffs. On a side note, the TSSAA needs to evaluate that "hurdling" rule. If you jump and kick a tackler in the head, ok, thats unsportsmanlike, but if a tackler is on the ground and reaching for the runners legs, the runner should be able to leave the ground to avoid that. Anyway, good luck the rest of the season chargers. Now on to WV.
  6. Chattanooga central really "stacked the box" a couple weeks ago, Miller still got his 200, some of it was even outside the tackles. Polk did have success getting outside against Chatt Central when they put 10 in the box. The thing is, Miller is big and strong, but he has enough speed that if you press the line, and he gets a seam, he can score from 50 yards out with a couple steps on anybody. Against East Ridge Polk was stopped a few times, but stopped themselves more than anything. I really don't have a feel for this game, if the team from last week shows up, who knows! The McCentral team I saw at the Bradley scrimmage doesn't belong on the same field with the Polk team I saw against Bradley and Chatt Central. Good Luck to both. Stay injury free!
  7. After seeing Central scrimmage earlier this fall I was not very concerned about this game. After Polk took on Bradley's passing attack and Chatt Central's athletes I was even less concerned. Now Polk struggles at ER, with turnovers and penalties... I'm not sure. I still think Polk beats Central, but it could be a nailbiter if Polk plays like they did at East Ridge. Go Polk!
  8. I get as many wrong as I do right, just like everyone else, but atleast I know how to spell cannonball.
  9. If That ever happens, yes I'll use Chiefs, (I dont think ive ever used chumps). How about blue tornadoes? What happened at ER ,,,, too many untimely penalties and two turnovers on the wrong side of the field. Check the game stats... I figure it will be a spirited week of practice and the Cats will be straight by Friday.
  10. Allright logcabin, smoke, all you baby blue fans, let's hear it! I'm even looking forward to them chef's fan's opinions on what it will take to dethrone the 5AA champs.
  11. Okay, I se what you're saying. Miller was on the sideline in few series on defense, more than in the past games. Getting #29 back will help reduce the load on both sides of the ball. I believe he was supposed to be a starting LB and starting TB before injury.
  12. Hold on now, take away that one run of 45 yards and Miller still had 33 caries for 143 yards. Good luck moving forward.
  13. Congrats on a big win against Polk, but you still don't belong in the 3A poll, you know, being 4A!
  14. Charlie is here, I just go to bed after games and get some sleep whether Polk wins or loses. I love Polk football, but I don't lose sleep over any football game. Good game by ER. #4 is a great runner. Too many turnovers, but I think both teams had two. Too many penalties for Polk. I believe Polk had more in the 1st half than in the previous two games, combined, but I'm sure the calls were legit. As for the talk of Polk only having #35, ER only has #4. For ER guys, why don't they use 10 in the backfield more. IMO, he is a better option than #2. Congrats to ER, good luck the rest the way. For Polk, regroup, take it out on McCentral. One last thing, ER has the best PA guy around, he exemplifies sportsmanship and Friday night excitement. You can tell he loves ER, but he also engages the visiting crowd!
  15. After watching the ND v BB game last night, I find it funny that a ND fan would say other teams need to develop a passing game. Throw it up and hope #1 gets it, is not a "passing game". Congratulations on the quality win, enjoy the remainder of September.
  16. HA! You better not let your 1A/2A board brethren hear you say that!! Roy will pitch a fit!
  17. Still no ERBallboy!!! He sure was confident back in July... Posted 25 July 2013 - 11:16 AM "...i would hate for you to drive a hour to get your butt kicked" .. ERBaller5, referring to the Polk @ East Ridge game this friday
  18. Where is the ERBallboy5? I think he may have realized what's coming Friday?
  19. This post makes no sense! You say that these teams need a passing game to have any chance to compete wit ND, then in the next sentence give us an example of why it is futile to try and pass against ND.?? So ND is unbeatable? Until someone runs it down your throat and completely demoralizes your defense,,,then there is no need to throw...you'll see. Enjoy your success against your schedule. But ND's prior competition and results, you lost to one good team you played, doesn't lead to a tag of explosive O and nasty D,,,,
  20. Nasty? ND has beaten East Ridge and CCS! And that makes you think you have a nasty D? Come on man! ND will probably beat Boyd, because their not that good either. Roll into October undefeated, then reality will set in.....
  21. The best team in the district wouldn't get beat by Walker Valley. The best team in the district won't get beat by Walker Valley. But it's good to see that same Sequoyah optimism. Regardless of what happens tonight, remember last season y'all dominated Central, then what happened in Benton? Good luck, but try to stay somewhat realistic. You beat a bad Tellico team, and then lost to a perennial sub .500 team.
  22. This is more about East Ridge than it is Central. But I did see potential in Central, Funk was a fine replacement. You guys have nice size across the line. Your QB and WR's... I don't know. I think maybe your WR's had seen the Bradley v Polk film.....Anyway, Polk pounded and pounded and Central gave in. I don't think East RIdge has that ability. How do the experts state it?? You guys match up very well with ER. Y'all bounce back
