Mt. Juliet and Red Bank are coming to the Doubletree Roundball Classic in the Tri-Cities this weekend to play games against both Science Hill and Sullivan Central. Any info on Mt. Juliet and Red Bank other than what little I've found on school websites and local newspapers would be appreciated. Also, fans from both schools can hopefully listen to the live internet stream of their games against Science Hill - Mt. Juliet [Friday 8:00] and Red Bank [saturday 7:00] via TriCitiesSports.com at this link: http://stream.intellithought.net/ You'll need to scroll down through the menu and find WKTP 1590 and select it to stream the audio. We have had some technical difficulties in the last week, but did stream Science Hill's game against Sullivan Central last Tuesday, so hopefully everything is still working. DBGRAD70, Serious inquiry. Do you have any data regarding annexation and its immediate affects on home owner's property value? I've always heard there would be an increase, but don't recall seeing any specific data on area before annexation and maybe two years after.

First, hello former classmate 83SouthRebel. Second, this issue is about one thing - tax dollars. Colonial Heights has 'em and Kingsport wants 'em. The City of Kingsport has been trying to annex Colonial Heights for as long as I can remember and I'm 40 years old. The city already has the main road through the communties and the businesses that reside along that road. Residents of my community have voiced opposition to annexation for years, but the City of Kingsport doesn't listen. They say they annex according to their master plan. If their master plan is to divide communities and schools, then they've been extremely successful. The last meeting of the city leadership, many residents of that area 'next in Kingsport's plan', commonly known as Moccassin Ridge, and located within sight of South High School, voiced their oppostion vehemently. Only one member of the Board of Mayor and Alderman voted against the measure. Isn't there a word for governments that take over communities or countries in which they are not wanted?
