  1. No, Calloway was def. may favorite. He allows the wrestlers to wrestle and be aggressive.
  2. My thoughts exactly rasslinlite, kiki if you really think the odds are stacked in Ryan's favor this year you obviously have no idea who is going to be there and what they are capable of. This year McCallie and the Brothers out of Memphis are both considered very formidable foes and will give Ryan all they can handle at this tournament and both easily have the potential to win this tournament, which is why they are invited to bring good, hard competition. Jeez Ironman are you still at it......well ok I suppose I can spell this out to you, just because Soddy could afford to go to PA a few years ago does not mean they have the funds to do it now. Soddy is in a rural community that has been hit hard by the reccession. The wrestling team could have the full support of the community, but if the funds are not there, they simply aren't there. Plus its hard to get the extra money from donars when your team is not as good, if I remember right they went up to PA in the 2006-07 season when they were "loaded" with talent (Roberson, Lettner, etc), now go slither back into your hole.
  3. I am not trying to compare Ryan's tournament with McCallie's there two completely different beasts with McCallie's tournament being obviously harder (anyone that knows wrestling in TN knows that, obviously you don't) because the best from Tn are there along with the best North Georgia has to offer as well, while the Ryan tournament mainly pulls from Middle TN and somewhat from Memphis as well. As for GP West being the following weekend regarding Soddy, we all know your school, Brentwood Academy, has the funds not only to travel anywhere they wish for any sport, but also the means to recruit good athletes (even though it hasn't helped them lately), Soddy Daisey on the other hand simply doesn't have those seemingly infinite funds that BA has, which forces Coach Henry to carefully pick and choose the out of town tournaments his team will compete in because the limited resources he is given by the school district. So Ironman, you are again proven to be completely inept........post again when you have something worthwhile to say, which when i think about it will probably be never.
  4. Kiki, why are you interested in knowing if Baylor and Bradley are invited, your team not good enough to knock off the top dogs at the ryan tournament, you need another team to do the job for you? Since I have already gone out on a limb today and have had to spell things out for ironman, I suppose I can do likewise for you. Baylor is always invited, but they refuse to come, this year for good reason they are going to a tough national tournament in Minnesoata. Bradley is also welcome Coach Simpson will never turn down good competition.
  5. Wow kiki, you or your son got whipped by a ryan kid, and one of the simpsons called the match is that it?
  6. Wow Ironman, since you decided to crawl your way out of your hole today I will address each of the teams you mention: Clarksville- usually a good team historically is down this year, plus i can't remember the last time they came. Fort Campbell- never busted into the top ten at the tourney (but had a stud 2-3 years ago Zack something or another) so yeah this tourney sucks without FT Campbell there. Houston- Same as Ft. Campbell (Brandon Wright was there lone stud). Soddy- Everyone knows they are down, but Steve Henry will have them back, plus they havent attended the tourney in years because they go to GP West so........crawl back to your hole you worthless bottom feeder and next time you come out of it make some decent points.
  7. I always like Carlos Calloway (in my opinion one of the best refs in TN) and John Gannon. Abel is alright although he sometimes makes too many calls, which sometimes influences the match.
  8. Is this Anderson's first year or has he wrestled in the past? Just curious.
  9. I don't know hrdcrwrestler, thats pretty brutal.......but anyway soemtime Ironman posts I think, just for the sake of posting.
  10. Where are all of the out of town teams? You tell me ironman you anti ryan garbage. The only half decent out of town team to drop this tourney is Mater Dei which was a substantially long time ago, and if I remember correctly was because of one bad call. So Ironman besides this one team, which out of state team are you talking about......? please, I am curious???????????
  11. Can someone please post the rest of the results?
  12. Actually MWR, sir, Mr. Croy I believe is a 2x defending state champ going for his third title this year. But anyone doubting Mr. Croy this year is going to be up for a rude awakening come February....my prediction for ayone facing him the finals is he will pin whoever it is, and thats if has hasn't already teched him. As for this topic.......it is stupid because we all know it is Maxwell trying to hype up his son, which I predict we won't see in the finals this year.
  13. What happened at the 189 finals? How was Grieco pinned so fast?
  14. Very solid win for the Irish, CONGRATS
  15. Congrats to Bradley for showcasing TN wrestling........when can we see that Baylor matchup now
  16. I have known John Gannon for years his camp he runs every year at Austin Peay is THE BEST camp in the state of TN (past clinicicans have included Dan Gable, John Smith, Duane Goldman, Steve Martin, Zeke Jones, Cael Sanderson, and much more) and has done much to not only improve the quality of wrestling in TN, but also has improved access to that quality wrestling to any kid in the state who wants to put in the work in the summertime to get better. He is a man of integrity and honor and for anyone to come onto this forum and try to prove otherwise is WRONG. John Gannon will always be a friend of mine and to the Father Ryan wrestling family for what he has given to our wrestlers. Also on a side note Mr. Gannon has reffing experience at the highest levels of TN high school wreslting and has reffed multiple time at the Father Ryan Invitational and the state duals and individuals so i feel he is more then qualified for the "great" tournament they hold over at harpeth.
  17. BCB me and you both know that the state of TN places an exuberant tax on whiskey, but the pleasure was all mine BCB y'all take care this year.
  18. Well.....I really do not feel like looking up the merriam-webster definition of garbage for you, since you are a D-I fan i feel like my tax dollars have come to waste paying for your "great" education at my expense so I will let you look it up. But no my definition of garbage is the D-I fans who have the guts to call out a kid on this forum.
  19. Well you can not blame Catholic they invited all the folks they could!
  20. I am tired of reading this D-I garbage that Wes is scared of anyone. He is a 2 time state champ which is more than I can say for anyone in the trash school division this year (D-I) in his division.
  21. This is PATHETIC......come on Mr. Maxwell getting the whole family involved???!!! You are obviously trying to generate talk about your son (which is admirable because as his father you want him to fulfill his dream, which I am sure is to win a state championship). But what you are doing right now by trying to constantly put your son out here on this forum, which something that is very immature and irresponsible, is putting more and more pressure on your son which can only undermine his success in this sport which i know is something I know you are not looking to do. Look your son is a good wrestler, let his actions not you spreading his name and trying to start odd topics on this forum speak for his skill he displays on the matt. But come on Mr. Maxwell at some point you have to stop doing what you are doing on these forums and just let your son step on the mat and let his actions speak for themselves.
  22. Ryan wins but watch out for jordan I heard he has been tearing it up in the off season
  23. RC Patriot, where I from the visiting coaching staffs are considered "guests" and as such are not expected to contribute to the running of the tournament, is this not why teams pay however so much a wrestler to enter the tournament so the host coaching staff can properly run the tournament and turn a decent profit?
  24. From what I heard this weekend from a buddy of mine, this tournament all around was just poor. This includes the competion, reffing (not TSSAA refs), and the general way the the tournament was run (late start ups and the whole round robin system). Hopefully next year a better tournament will be run if not for the benefit of making the tournament organizers form looking only half inept but so the kids themselves can have gain better experience before we enter the heart of wrestling season.
