  1. Congratulations to the Lady Cats on their 8-6 win over Spring Hill tonight! Congratulations also to the winning pitcher, Christy Moore! Keep it up, ladies!!!
  2. Congratulations Lady Cats! Keep it up!!!
  3. I could not agree more. Christy is one of the hardest working individuals I know. I am so proud of you, Christy! Congratulations and keep working hard! I'm so sad that I missed the grand slam, but I know I'll get to see so many more amazing things out of you! Congratulations Lady Cats! Any district win is always a BIG win --- Keep 'em comin!
  4. ladynred, 8AAA has been a 'ride' this year...no team in this district was or is unbeatable. that was proven several times this season. Surprisingly, Shelbyville is the only team to advance to the second round of region. I don't know if your conclusions were numerically based or if there was no order whatsoever, but Lawrence County finished above Franklin Co and Lincoln Co - actually 3rd place in the district tournament. Here are my conclusions on the 2005-2006 season: - the numerical order is just how the first 4 finished in tournaments - 1. Shelbyville: this team definitely has talent, but they are also very beatable...the only team still playin from 8AAA 2. Columbia: great team with a great coach - won some big games, but also lost some heartbreakers 3. Lawrence County: in november, a lot of people had huge doubts about this group of girls, but they've surprised a lot of those same people with wins over some very talented teams...unfortunately, they lost some games they definitely should have won - this group has dealt with everything this season of adversity has thrown at them and i couldn't be more proud of the way they've handled it all! Congratulations, ladies! Can't wait to see yall in 2006-2007! - should be exciting, as LC only graduates one senior 4. Coffee County: the 'system' just couldn't keep their post-season hopes running strong 5. Franklin County: Coach Wild did a great job working with these ladies - definitely the most improved team in the district! 6. Lincoln County: during preseason and at the beginning of season, a lot of people had this group picked for the best team in 8AAA...definitely the biggest surprise team - but they still had a big win against shelbyville 7. Tullahoma: the coach seems very confident and handles the team well; i believe more improvement will follow if the girls share her attitude With the exception of Shelbyville, 2005-2006 basketball has ended for the 8AAA teams. I'm looking forward to a great off-season and pre-season 2006-2007!
  5. Good luck to the Lady Cats tonight! These ladies definitely have the ability to be playing at Franklin County on Wednesday night! Keep steppin up, ladies! I agree that as long as the ladies come out and play a full 32 minutes of team ball, they will be making a trip to Winchester Wednesday afternoon! Good luck ladies!!! I'll be cheering for yall! My prediction - Law Co by 5
  6. Congratulations to the Lawrence County Lady Cats on their win against Coffee County in the District 8AAA Consolation game tonight! Lawrence County's Ashley Moore came up big for the Lady Cats pouring in 13 points and crashing the boards for 13 rebounds!!! Keep it up, ladies! Let your abilities shine on the court like I know you can! Good luck Monday night at Siegal! I'll be cheerin' for yall!!! Go Lady Cats!
  7. Unfortunately, the Lawrence County seniors played in their final game as Wildcats last night. Over their careers at LCHS, each of these guys have put in countless hours of hard work. These young men have been such a pleasure to watch. Wildcat basketball will certainly miss you! Congratulations Royse and Ben on making All-District! Good luck in all you do!!! - Royse, Jacob, Derrick, and Ben, enjoy the rest of your senior year! Keep working hard in all you do! Never give up!
  8. Congratulations to the Lady Cats on a HUGE win tonight over Lincoln County! This win guarantees that these ladies will play at least three more games, including a first round region game, regardless of who wins the next two games. - from The Tennessean Congratulations Lady Cats! Keep stepping up and big things will happen for yall! Good luck Wednesday night! Remember, nothing is impossible and no one team is unbeatable! Get some much needed rest and be ready to use our home court advantage when Shelbyville comes to town! I love you girls! I'll be cheerin for yall!
  9. wildcat2004 - thanks for the opportunity!
  10. in the girls game, the Lawrence County players ran out around the Giles County team, and apparently that constitutes a technical...therefore the game began with Giles County shooting free throws and getting the first possession of the game. i'm still not sure about the guys game, though.
  11. CONGRATULATIONS Lady Cats! I am so proud of the effort that was put forth tonight in a HUGE district win over Columbia! Next up, rest and prepare for Franklin County coming to town Friday night! Good luck, ladies! Again, I am so very proud...you've proved so many people wrong about your capabilities as individuals and as a team!
  12. In no way did I mean disrespect toward any of the former Lawrence County players; they all made the decisions that they felt were right for themselves and their families. However, the support given to the young ladies that have stayed at Lawrence County does not even compare to that given to the young ladies who are playng elsewhere now. These ladies have earned support, no matter how the supporters feel towards the coaches or program.
  13. While some of the 'impact' players did, in fact, leave Lawrence County to play for various different schools, several 'impact' players made the decision to remain through the adversity and continue to represent their hometown school. Yet, the girls that have remained loyal to Lawrence County continue to get less respect and support than those girls that made life decisions to continue their basketball careers elsewhere or to end their basketball careers completely. Also, knowing Jana since she was 9 years old, it has never been a question where she would play when she began her high school career; everyone knew she would be a Lady Mustang. She has always attended schools in her own hometown and represented them well. Good luck to the Lady Cats tonight! Go get 'em!
  14. Yes, Lawrence County did place second in the Sweet South Classic. They faced a very athletic and aggressive McEachern team last night, and the referees also let it get quite out of control down low. More detailed update from the Lady Cats play in Madison will follow sometime today. Congratulations, Lady Cats! Get rested up for the return of district action soon!
  15. The Lady Cats defeated Central Gwinnett 42 - 36 tonight in their second game of the Sweet South Classic. Next, they will play in the tournament's championship game tomorrow night against McEachern at 8:30 pm ET. Good luck Lady Cats! Go get 'em!
  16. The Lawrence County Lady Cats defeated Northgate 44 - 32 in their first game of Sweet South Classic in Madison, Georgia. Next, they will take on Central Gwinnett at 7:00 ET on Thursday, December 29. Good luck Lady Cats! Go get 'em!
  17. Congratulations Wildcats!!!! Yall played great and I am so excited that it is football time! Tonight was a great night of football. Keep up the hard work! Good luck next week fightin' the Bobcats for the Bell!!!
  18. Please continue to pray for the McMasters family and Bryan and the Dobias family, as well as the hundreds of people that have been affected by the loss of our friend Will. Everyone that ever met Will would consider him their friend, even if they didn't know him well, that was just the way he was. He was a big teddy bear with the brightest, most beautiful eyes and a gorgeous perfect smile, that I rarely saw him without. He was a beautiful person, and he touched the lives of so many. That smile lifted so many up when they were having a bad day. I will never forget any of these things about Will, and many others that will forever mean so much to me. Also, please continue to pray for Bryan, as he is continuing to recover at Huntsville Hospital. He has a huge support group praying for him, and that is what will help him handle all of this. - In loving memory of William Jacob McMasters -
  19. Congratulations, ladies! I know how hard you all worked for this and it has paid off! We will all miss Kim and Court cheering next year...Best wishes to both of you!
  20. Lawrence County's class of 07 is full of talent
  21. Sounds like Lawrence County is gonna prove some people wrong this year, after predictions of a season at the bottom of 8AAA. Good luck Lady Cats!!!
  22. The 2004-2005 Wildcat basketball season came to a close tonight with a loss at Siegal. It sounded like Jacob Powell stepped up and hit four threes to earn 16 points tonight to keep the Wildcats in the game, along with Jase, Josh, Royse, Brody, Ben, and Brady playing for the Cats. Congratulations to the Wildcats on a hard fought season! You guys have worked hard all season and have had some tough breaks. These guys have made each game worth watching with their hard work and dedication to Lawrence County basketball! Keep your heads up, guys! We are all proud of each of you! As this season ends, Wildcat fans will say goodbye to two very talented young men, Jase Duke and Josh Purcell. These guys have been dedicated to Wildcat basketball for their four years at LCHS. Both have been so enjoyable to watch as they have improved over the seasons and will be missed greatly on the court next season! Jase has led this team all season, hitting about 45 threes this season. Josh has played awesome defense as always; he is always ready to step in and take a charge off anyone. Thanks for all the memories, Jase and Josh! Good luck in all you do, guys!!! thumb For the rest of the guys, we all look forward to next season! Have a great offseason, I know yall are gonna come into the 2005-2006 season ready to play ball!
  23. Good luck to the Wildcats tonight at Siegal!!! Good luck guys!!! Go get 'em!!!
  24. Well said, 05wildcats05! Go Lady Cats!
  25. The Lady Cats played the Lady Warriors a great game tonight, but just couldn't finish it off completely. At the end of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters, Lawrence County was ahead of Riverdale by one point, but in the end, Riverdale slid ahead of the Lady Cats to advance in the region tournament. Congratulations to the Lady Cats on making it this far! A lot of girls stepped up when they were needed this season and in this game particularly. Junior Lauran Hudgins came back from an injury when many doubted chances of her playing in this game to help the Lady Cats, as well as sophomore Ashley Moore working extremely hard the entire game and exploding in the third quarter, to contribute to what was almost a #4 seed playing in the semi-finals of Region 4AAA tournament. These girls have made this season worth every minute with their hard work and dedication to Lawrence County basketball. Keep your heads up, girls! We are all proud of you! thumb As this season ends, we will say goodbye to a wonderful young lady, senior Lady Cat Rachel Meek. Unfortunately, her season ended early, but her dedication to her team continued as she remained a great encourager to her teammates. Good luck in the future, Rach!
