  1. Whitehaven beating Mitchell 28-16 while Mitchell beating Melrose 12-6, it would suggest Whitehaven has the offense to overcome Melrose defense, but you never know the mental attitude of being dominated over the last few years.
  2. Hunter Lane is looking too good and well coached to go against them in this game with Maplewood. Hunter Lane may be the best team in Region 5-5A.
  3. As much as I like to see Hillsboro win, MBA is rolling. MBA is looking like one of the top teams in the state besides BA.
  4. I'll second that statement about 2P...wacky at times but not slanderous.
  5. Correction, 0-2 with one additional game in an undetermined status
  6. This pity thread is short sited. Priorities are mixed up, education before sports. I couldn’t care less if he played football or not. I do care if a child has the possibility of full-filling his education requirements at high school and going on to college. This is the real tragedy.
  7. Good news for BA, bad news for everyone else.
  8. I don’t dislike any of the teams in WillCo. I like rivalries it produces, game day excitement of the Friday nights, rising to the challenges of the opposition, and spirit of competition. Yes, we would all like to win but losing is better than tying.
  9. Franklin & Ravenwood has been a good series with the win going either way in the fourth or overtime. This year will be no different. If Franklin defense can cause offensive turnover deep in Ravenwood territory like BA this past Friday, then Franklin will win. If not, Ravenwood will be the victor. If anyone is predicting a blowout, it's not going to happen. It will be nail biter.
  10. Being rivals of Independence and Centennial, "I don't have a dog in the hunt". However, I can't sit by and see Independence taking a dogging for playing tough competition. Questions about Independence making the same mistakes: Driving a nail, the finger is laying across the nail head as the hammer swing down on top of the finger. It was a mistake. It hurts like heck. Will you do it again? Heck no, you learn from your mistakes. The point here: Playing excellent opponents will find a team weakness. Coaches will see this weakness and make corrections as well as the players. I doubt the same mistakes will happen. Will Independence make mistakes? It will happen but the toughness of competition will lessen the occurrence. I see Independence being a better team for it, not worst. Quality teams will discover the weakness of an opponent and take advantage of it. If you are not playing quality teams, you may not know your weakness. It is "Lessons Learned". These lesson learned are turn into opportunities to used against opponents, meaning Centennial is up next to apply "Lessons Learned". Last year Independence didn't play such quality teams at the start of the season and went undefeated until the quality teams showed up on the schedule. This year, Independence played quality teams and lost. Is it better to be 0-2 against quality teams going into the start of district play than be 2-0 against non-quality teams? I understand Centennial exuberance of winning a game because it shows improvement over the previous seasons and wish the team well. I like Independence chances in this upcoming game against Centennial because of "Lesson Learned" against quality competition. The experience is invaluable.
  11. No doubt the series will continue with our friends at BA. That pair of defensive ends 99 & 98 was great as well as 66. This is the best shutdown defensive line in Tennessee High School period. It should take BA to the championship. UT needed these type DE against California on Saturday.
  12. Fantasy is playing UofTFantasy mind again with the dreamed up of rumbling stuff from parents. This can only come from UofTFantasy who is an absolute lair. This teenage boy or girl (I can??™t tell) who is not proclaiming to support a team in Williamson County but is being a festering fool on CoachT.
  13. Getting back to our friends at BA BA is a great team, no doubt. However, no one believed Ravenwood except the Ravenwood would with the State Championship in 2005. No one believed Ravenwood would beat Smyrna on their home field during Homecoming but did, get into the playoffs, go on the road for four playoff wins, and make it to the Championship Game (lost to Smyrna) in 2006. Why would 2007 be any different? It is our destiny to be underdogs, it's against all odds. We Believe! - this year will be no different. Thanks for the support. BA 24 - Ravenwood 30 Enjoy the tailgate party and post game rituals
  14. He has been working out with the Vandy team since graduation. Plans are to be a doctor. He has a full scholarship, academic first then switch to football which will last six years. Vanderbilt Coach Johnson has slated him for Center in a couple of years. No a bad educational deal.
  15. I don't know about that statement. Garrett Snoeyenbos is playing football for Vanderbilt. That is not to bad of a deal to be playing football for Vandy.
  16. Brentwood suffered because of Ravenwood is ok statement but Brentwood was open zone up to 2007. Indy is on the far south of Williamson County. Franklin & more likely Centennial suffer some because of Indy. Most of the neighborhoods of these kids attending Indy and Ravenwood didn't exist a few years ago as well as Brentwood, Centennial, and Franklin. The zoning pattern is constant moving target with another High School slated south of Franklin around I-65 & I-840 in 2009 with additional one around Triune/Nolensville in 2011. It's no difference than most counties with high growth in Middle Tennessee like Wilson & Rutherford.
  17. Congrats to Goodpasture for having make the plays when you need to. As far as Ravenwood, it was a series of bonehead plays, especially the special team breakdown. I guess the Special Team coach has got his work cut out for him this week. The fumble at the one-yard line was hard to take. It would have put Ravenwood up 14-0. The block punt on the fourth down from around the forty, it was picked up and ran in for touchdown. The punt that nicked one of the Ravenwood player foot who was trying to get out of the way??¦the ball bounces funny at times. Goodpasture took it in for the touchdown a few player later. The defensive offside penalty for the extra point try in overtime was a good setup of Goodpasture. Didn??™t have to kick to tie the game when the ball is placed at 1-1/2 yard line. Decided not to kick and walked in it for the two points two win the game. It was a gutsy call by Goodpasture coach. No guts, no glory, and congrats!
  18. If the special teams for Ravenwood don't get it in gear and quit making bonehead plays, Ravenwood won't stand a chance with BA this week. I'm sure BA will review the tape of the Goodpasture game and they are licking their chops on the special teams opportunities.
  19. Maybe so as well it was mention by some friends from others programs. The challenge is out there, make the best of it, win or lose, work toward getting better during the season, and get on a roll for post season play. It is what it is. One thing for certain, the Tailgating party will be fun gathering.
  20. I agree, Antioch has one heck of an air show with towering height on the receiving end. It will be another excellent game to watch this hot Friday night. Will MBA water the carpet to cool it down before game time? I read Vandy does this to their carpet practice area to cool it down before practice.
  21. I’ve not read much of anything about the extreme heat on Friday and the effect on game planning to keep players fresh. It could come down to depth of quality backup players for both teams. Friday night would be brutal on a two-way player like Chris Jordon and others playing both ways on BA & Indy. Will their be any gas left in the tank coming in the 4th quarter for two-way players and possible for single position players? I guess both coaches are looking at this situation for additional substitution, especially for the two-way players. I look at depth with multiple substitutions to keep the key talent ready for the fourth. This is one point that could favors Indy and could make a difference in a tight game. Will either coach look at the first part of the game to get a commanding lead and coast with substitutions or keep rotating substitutions throughout the game to be ready to close it in the fourth? BA has the talent but the depth could be a question as compared to Indy’s depth on the home field on this hot August night.
  22. Knoxville Catholic over Morristown West
  23. Bwoodmon and uoftfanatic are imposters and sole purpose is to insult and make up lies and attack fans of Ravenwood. It always a first time poster that come on here a start saying how sick they are of Ravenwood instead of talking about there own team support. Yet, they could have a second log in name. Best to report on CoachT of the problem once determine the goal of the poster. This violates the spirit of the CoachT board. CoachT has his own way of dealing with these clowns. They come and go frequently. It is the nature of their game.
