  1. Dude... what's up with all the excuses??! SH scored on all but three of their possessions. Not to mention THS gift wrapped the opening score of the second half for the Hill by giving them the ball on the 2 yard line. Just face it, regardless of who was at the QB position the opportunity for the Hilltoppers to score was limited by the Viking coaching staff's game plan. Everyone underestimated the Vikings including Stacey and the Hilltopper team... and you almost paid for that mistake. SH has some dangerous big play players (#11 being without a doubt the biggest threat), but you guys are not that good. And trust me.... without #11 you are barely an above average 6A team. And Stacey knows it. If he's not 100% by the DB game you guys are toast. You sound like one of those parents that is so caught up in getting little Johnny noticed that you can't stand to give credit where it's due.
  2. I agree 04 but I believe part of the motivation form this group of Vikings will come from the fact that the DB alumni officials stole one form them in this game last year! The sack "no call" along with a couple of other deliberate mistakes by these bone head officials on DB's last drive were the only things that prevented a victory over the Indians last season.
  3. Boy... are you in for a surprise.
  4. I wish they would have stayed with air attach because Mr. White was KILLING us on the ground in the second half!!! If Stacey would have stayed with the same game plan the second half of this game I would be at Applebee's right now knocking em down in celebration of the win. The Vikings without a doubt benefited GREATLY from Malik being one diminutional tonight.
  5. Wow... we were sooooo close!!! IMO we were one play away from the W in this game and that was the botched punt that gave the ball to the Hill on the 2 yard line and ultimately 7 points in the opening minutes of the second half. Hats off to the Viking coaching staff for thinking this one through and giving everyone the map to beating this explosive Topper team. It's easy to see that this Topper squad can score on any given play. Speed does kill!! I think Stacey's scouting report pointed to what most Viking fans were most concerned about and that was our secondary. Because although they were breaking off 4+ yards every carry early in the game he opted to go with the all out air attach which gave us the couple or so defensive stances that the Viking needed to stay in this game. With that being said... THE BOYS IN THE VIKING SECONDARY STEPPED UP TONIGHT!!!!! There was a little bend early but THEY NEVER BROKE!!! Hats off to these guys because I personally have been giving you guys a hard time. I have to say that it is because I knew you were capable of much better or else I wouldn't even have bothered challenging you. #1 even delivered a little wood to Mr White on one of his trips to the endzone which was quite impressive. If I had one critique it would have to be that I'm disappointed that we don't trust our passing game. Because I personally think we have the arm and the hands to execute a more balanced attack. Great effort by the Viking players and coaching staff!!! I walked out of the stadium tonight with my head up thinking "that's what I"M talkin about"!
  6. 28 to 23 Toppers. Official assisted TD for the Hill.
  7. 23 to 21 Vikings. 2:55 2nd Extra point blocked.
  8. It's turf. Not sure if it matters unless it actually raining.
  9. I can't help but notice the crickets that have been chirping in the background since along about post number 32. Doesn't anybody want to tell us AGAIN how good Science Hill is, or how unstoppable McGue is going to be, or maybe how the Vikings are going to get beat 120 to 5??!
  10. You have to think that the defensive backs are getting special attention this week in practice knowing that IMO they will make or break the Vikings in this game not just with coverage but open field tackles.
  11. I feel ya... it's been about the same here. I'm not sure if coverage techniques have changed that much in some of these coaches eyes or if they just don't spend enough time coaching these kids up.
  12. Wow... haven't seen this many SH fans on coacht (that actually spoke up) in years!! Weather must be good up on the Hill. The Vikings are getting ready to get their pants pulled down to their ankles right in front of the entire world. We just simple aren't able to defend the pass.... long, short, you name it. And after this game even Volunteer will be throwing the long ball on us. We've been able to survive the pass basically because we haven't faced a team that passing was anything more than a way to open up their running attach. Science Hill is ALMOST a pass first team and even these short passes that we were giving Elizabethton will turn into big plays with the athletes we will face in this game. So this one is going to get ugly fast unless there are some improvements with the secondary coverage. The secondary is also going to be challenged to help with run support more so this game than any other game so far this year with the exception of last week. And last week we didn't do to well. Once Ethan broke through the first wave of the defense he met little resistance on the way to the end zone. Now this isn't an issue at the safety position, but the corners are going to have to man up! The second thing we will need to do is PASS THE ROCK!!! I don't think we threw the ball one time last week. Of course the Cyclones were having just about as much trouble stopping the run as we were having with them. Well..... maybe not AS much ... but they were having their troubles with the Viking ground attach. If by some miracle we are able put something together in these two areas the Vikings have the personnel to make this another shootout like last week.
  13. #2 is a "GAMER" (meaning competition only raises his performance). Remember that term. Jasper has everything needed to play at the next level except size and strength. All of the other none teachables are there... vision, quick feet, speed, heart....
  14. Thanks Lawnman! We have to weather the storm for two more weeks before we get to the slide. Just hope we don't suffer any more injuries. #22 suffered an ankle injury tonight. Not sure how bad it is but he couldn't finish the game. He is actually the third piece to our trio in the backfield. I'm thinking they had maybe planned to play his card on offense in the second half to give you guys a different look. But it didn't work out.
