  1. You are correct Scout. The games between these four teams all pretty much came down to the last seconds(not minutes) of the 4th and even into OT.
  2. No matter all the bickering on here, I would like to think that all teams in the same region would be supportive of each other. It just makes us all look good when one of the teams has success. Good luck to Polk, Howard, Central, and Meigs.
  3. Well said. There are several kids in this region who are extremely hard working and keep their nose clean so good luck to them all.
  4. The "Yes, please explain" relates to another issue. Reading comprehension wasn't your strong point apparently. That's not surprising.
  5. I have to say that I went to the Meigs/Polk game and as a Meigs fan I want everyone to know that as far as I know everyone on both sides acted with class and proper sportsmanship. I didn't see anything inappropriate.
  6. Coaches set the tone. If the players fear and respect the coach they generally won't come to school high.
  7. You can't say a team is under control by citing their record. The coach is responsible for the conduct of his players.
  8. He is extremely consistent and very driven. Look at his legs-you can tell where that power comes from.
  9. After attending a DI school, not for athletic scholarship though, I can with a high degree of accuracy say that kids from Cleveland, McMinn County and other places larger than Decatur struggle with the adjustment to UTK or UTC.There are not many freshmen I would reccommend to move off to Knoxville.
  10. I believe I would make sure whom I was talking about before I disparaged them. I have heard from a former teacher(straight from the source) that T. Mobriant was a good student for this teacher.
  11. Mobriant is perhaps one of the most consistent players I've seen. He does damage every week.
  12. I really thought Grundy would do more than what they did against Meigs although I'm glad they didn't. They have several big boys. I thought defensively Meigs looked pretty good Friday night. Congratulations Meigs. Nobody needs to take Meigs out of the equation on the playoff front. Mobriant, Meadows, Shoot, Rayl, and others(Howard is good to intercept) are really looking good in my book.
  13. I've seen ER and I wasn't very impressed. They do have a little speed but didn't seem to know how to use it.
  14. This is Meigs homecoming so this may fuel the fire even more.
  15. Mobriant had a huge game. More yards than anyone on either team. He is a great player and should be able to go on and do well.
  16. I don't think anyone said Meigs' defense was awesome in the Central game. The fact was stated that Central's wasn't either. When both teams score 30-40+ points, that is a good indication that defense wasn't the highpoint of the game. I don't think you'll find many Meigs fans posting on here complaining-that's generally not their style. Fact is Meigs lost two All-State players last year as well as other impact players and still managed to keep the score close. That is a testament to Mobriant(pre-season all-state pick), Meadows, Neely, Shoot, Rayl and others. Mr. Warhorse, you're telling someone who is not a Meigs fan to stop complaining and making excuses. Central has had a better year thus far, but it takes more than one game or even one season to be a winner.
  17. wrong......it was football and it was at ND. It maybe happened in bball too though.
  18. Some teams even have the audacity to take offense to a visiting team "disrespecting" their laundry facilities.
  19. I would not call allowing a team to score 30+ points dominating them.
  20. you have no idea whom you are replying to....this is a McMinn Central poster not a Meigs poster... so he's not making any trip on Friday.
  21. Let us all not be deceived here. Polk and Meigs are a big rivalry, which is good for competition. When Polk won, there were no sour grapes about the game from Meigs. I did not go to the game in Benton but knew Meigs must have won because the crickets were chirping here at coacht that evening. (We are even still posting on the thread "Polk gets BIG win @ Meigs") Polk would have already started posting if they had won. Meigs fans/playes have handled all of this fairly well IMO. I sincerely hope your criticism extends towards members of the Polk baseball team (that play the other sports as well) that routinely use the n word when playing Central and other schools. Yes, I can call names but I won't-they know who they are. What's worse is when the parents do the same- and yes I can mention specific examples here as well. I have seen and heard this with my own eyes and ears. This is not only classless but criminal....hate speech. When playing basketball at Meigs, students and parents in one section chanted "inbreds" to the Meigs players. ( Does anyone besides me find this humorous?) This goes back to upbringing and the parent's responsibilty so don't lecture anyone on class or etiquette.
  22. McMinn Central starts 1 freshman and 4 sophmores. The reserves that see playing time include only 1 senior and the remainder are fresh and soph
