  1. I really agree with your post pianomaster. I am also very proud of the boys, and I am definitely going to remember this season and team forever. They've made it a year to remember and they should be very proud of their accomplishments. Wartburg Seniors, congratulations on all you have achieved these past four years. It was great to see DJ dunk it, and I'm sure he is happy he was able to do that in his last game. You all played great and it was heartbreaking to watch, because every one of you played with so much effort when you were on that court. Great job Dogs! Thanks for a great season! Also, Congratulations Humboldt!
  2. Wow. Thats all I can say after this great game. It was definitely a nail biter. The bulldogs played exceptionally well especially not having senior starter Travis Nelson. DJ really stepped it up like he has been doing lately (what a dunk). All the dogs that went on the hardwood tonight really came through. The fans from both sides were great as well. I can only hope the dogs are as fired up and play as well as they did tonight in every game to come. Let's be ready for Harriman and Rockwood next week!!! But you can't forget those bobcats, they fought really hard. Good game boys.
  3. how did it get ugly? I heard wartburg got a lot of fouls and shannon got a technical for hanging onto the rim after a dunk and fouled out. I'm upset that I missed this game because it sounds like the dogs played well. Does anyone know top scorers or anything like that?
  4. I think this will be a pretty hard fought game. That is, if the dogs don't get completely worn out from that 2 & 1/2 hour bus ride. I agree that this game will make the dogs better, win or lose. They're not used to playing a team like this in the regular season, so it should be a good challenge.
  5. Does anyone know when the Knoxville Prep Xtra basketball preview will be coming out?
  6. I'm almost sure that sophomore Caleb Bunch will be starting as pg. He's a good player, he got to play a lot last year, and can really sink the 3's. But still, he is young to high school play. Not to say I don't think he will do well or anything, I think he will do pretty good. I think the rest of the starters are all seniors, but the bench is pretty young. I agree that these boys have a shot, they just can't come into this season with a big head, and hopefully they won't fuss over the stupid little high school "drama" and work as a team. I think the OS-Wartburg games should be good, and Harriman didn't lose any starters did they?
  7. how did the scrimmage go monday night?
  8. Wartburg has had talent. In 2005, they were expected to be a favorite. We had some big, and talented guys. This year, we did too. You can't say Wartburg hasn't had talent, they have, they just didn't know how to use it I dont think because Larry Davis, couldn't really coach them.
  9. i meant where is greeneville high school located?
  10. How is Greenville lookin this year? Wartburg plays them this season. By the way, where is greeneville actually located?
  11. book keeper, I don't think you're giving Wartburg the credit they deserve. Yes we lost Shannon & Melton but not the whole team. All I have to say is wait and see. I think Wartburg has a few more tricks up their sleeve if ya get what I mean.
  12. Larry Davis is vice principal at Central Middle School, and I'm almost positive he sits in his room, maybe hands out a few detentions and does nothing all day, and I'm sure he got that job because of "connections", he really shouldn't be an administrator at all. But anyway, Wartburg has been suffering with this coach for long enough and I think it is definitely time for a change. You can see it in the players, they don't want to play for him. Especially with no support from the other kids at school and Ol Larry doesn't give much support either. I'm suprised there are still boys playing. I really hope something is done about this!
  13. I really hope the school board works this out and get their noses out of other "higher" peoples butts. Yes, Larry Davis has took us to the playoffs 4 times, but I think the past two years have been a disgrace to Wartburg. He's done enough and I think its time to move on. I agree that Jay Moore would be a great coach, but it's up to how much they want to pay to get him back. I wish we could have a respectable team as our basketball team in Wartburg again. Now, our spirit is gone and usually the only reason kids come to games is so they can socialize. Lets hope & pray Larry goes AWAY!
  14. i agree rangerbook..we'll just have to see how everyone matches up. but im pretty sure that wartburg will be a good district favorite this year.
