  1. Not taking up for anyone but myself....and I'm from Hampton. Nuf 'ced---McGreevy
  2. I don't know those folks by their screennames anymore than I know you....I just feel very sensitive to hearing the "ignorant hill billy" comments being constantly passed around. You would be too if that's all you ever heard when folks realize that you are from the South (and proudly so). There has been more than enough nasty and mean-spirited comments made on both sides in this thread and I'm not willing to defend any of ya'll Can you point out where I'm so impressed with myself? Short of stating that I'm educated to tndeveloper (who so lovingly attacked me all Friday night) I haven't said one thing about myself. Now---proud of the Red Sox---you bet. But certainly that's not so impressive. edit--spelling is my friend.
  3. Okay... I asked nicely and said "please". Also---I didn't insult one person that didn't jump on me first for the sole reason of being from Hampton. Just pointed out that it was not cool. Dear...I don't need to impress you. That would be sad if it was my only goal in life LOL. It's too bad that you have so much hate and bias just because of "where" someone lives. I reckon small minded is as small-minded does. Sorry you didn't like your own reflection.
  4. I know people are getting your goat and folks haven't been nice (from both sides), but please don't continue the "backwoods ignorant hillbilly" slant....not cool. It's easier to get your point across without that kind of mudslinging...please. Remember--up north they think we are ALL like that LOL. edit---I don't even know if there is an armory nearby. Maybe Elizabethton? And to top it off: I've never spent my Saturday night at a "wrasslin" show. I feel somehow cheated.....
  5. I know it's fun talking smack and such, but remember that kids do get seriously injured in football. Nick Buoniconti's son broke his neck playing a game at ETSU and I will never forget seeing that play. Folks can be very sensitive to watching their own kid lying injured on a field obviously.
  6. Keeping this family in my thoughts.
  7. Congratulations to the team, to the coaches, fans, families, and friends (some still with us, some departed)! I'm very proud to come from Hampton and it has been enjoyable spending the last 2 years trying to keep up with you from above the Mason-Dixon!
  8. Yeah, I don't buy this argument about JC and the coaches being so easily swayed. I've known JC my whole life and that man definitely has his own mind He's gonna put the best team HE thinks should be out on that field....not everyone else's idea of a team. Pujo....I'm curious....did you graduate in the 80's?
  9. I didn't talk smack....it's not my style. But I can tell you this: You just talk, talk, talk with nothing to really say. Keep living vicariously through those players. Too bad your "glory days" have come and gone. Just a sad little man hiding behind a computer now talking a lot of BS. You have done a wonderful job representing the school (laughing uncontrollably while I write this) and the team. I hope for the sake of your community that you stop breeding NOW. Again--Congrats to the players on both sides.. Signed---A good 'ol educated East Tn. Mountain girl who has the brass to make it in a big city. For JC For the coaches For Celia Ann, Tony, and Mike (rest your souls--you are loved and missed every day) For the good people of Hampton....players, families, and friends YOU ALL MAKE ME SO VERY PROUD.
  10. First off, congrats are in order to both teams. But I said that already last night. What I do need to add is that the FCS "supporters" on here last night were jerks. Immature, ignorant, and arrogantly antagonistic. Don't know about the game, but if anymore "christian fellowship" was spread in this thread then it was gonna get ugly on my part. Remember that not everyone fan came in and talked trash---on both sides. To VolFan---Rook did a great service to those of us who could not attend the game. You don't like what someone has to say then don't listen. Just because you couldn't go to the game doesn't make you less of a fan. Thanks Rook. That being said---it's Hot Stove time in New England and in Theo I put my trust for this year's Red Sox, the Pat's are still playing, and I have to work on my Christmas decorations. Congrats again to the players.
  11. I'm pretty sure you have shown your "ignorance" enough tonight. I don't need to debate the merits of my education. Simply said : Congrats to those kids on the field. May they grow into adults and not the sad and pathetic "former" players still living out those glory days. Seems like it might be time to grow up, boys. Congrats to the players of Friendship Christian as well as Hampton High. Good luck FC in the finals.
  12. I haven't been cheering and jabbing....just trying to keep up with the game. You're the trash talker friend. the only time I talk to you is when you feel the need to insult me.
