  1. I will agree with you about the records and strength of schedule, they don't matter at this point in the year. However I cannot agree with you're outcome of the game. You used the fact that VB almost beat NCS until they blew it. I'd like to point out that Eagleville only beat CA by 5, and NCS margin of victory over CA this year is 13ppg. I guess my point is, you cannot use any previous games to determine the outcome, the best you can do is compare speed, coaching, skill. I agree it won't be easy for NCS to guard the post, but I think their ability, especially Anderson's, of being able to read the pass will help. Based on stats I've seen and games I've seen, I believe NCS will use a similar gameplan that they would against CA. Having said that I guess my pick is NCS by 6 or less.
  2. I want to personally apologize for their behavior. Being an alumni of NCS, I was ashamed at their behavior. I actually happened to have graduated with the guy that got thrown out. He has been thrown out of a few other games this year for the same reason. To all VB fans, players, coaches, and cheerleaders, that is not a good representation of NCS. Please except my apology on NCS's behalf. I feel that you should atleast hear it from someone. Hopefully they will be more civil for the Eagleville game.
  3. Charlie Anderson has coached in Nashville as a head coach for 45 years. Last night his Nashville Christian Eagles game him his 1000th career victory against Van Buren Co. He has averaged a little over 22 wins per years he has coached. Congrats on 1000 Charlie!!!!!!!
  4. Ok, I get the fact the kid can shoot. Maybe he can shoot with anybody on NCS. But he's not going to get wide open shots, so I think the fact he can shoot, but only when open, is a moot point. I was always taught a great "shooter" created their own shots. So I guess I'm still having a hard time seeing how this kid can shoot with the boys from NCS, because creating your own shot is part of it. Good luck to all 4 teams playing tonight. Also, good luck on 1000 Charlie.
  5. I never doubted that UC is an amazing team. My only concern was how you just cast NCS to the side. I know everone is saying they havn't played anyone, and they have played a weak schedule this year. However, in head to head games D-10 vs. D-9, D-10 is 11-3. Simply based on that, I'm confused how you can say they are simply better.
  6. I'll give you that Baker will be tough for NCS to guard, I believe Baker's ppg is 21.8, which is impressive in itslef, not to mention another post player for VB averages 20ppg. I think Davidson for NCS has a big task tonight. Howerver, you took it a bit to far saying that Simmons can shoot with anybody on NCS. Let me give you a few stats: NCS: Caden Anderson 16.5 ppg, 107 3's Bradley Elkins 15.7ppg, 91 3's Zach Bledsoe 10.7ppg, 79 3's VB: Colton Simmons: under 10ppg, 56 3's I am in no way saying the kid can't shoot, only that you cannot look at these stats and say he can shoot with anybody on NCS. I think tonights game will simply come down who makes the least amount of mistakes. On paper NCS avg's 60.3ppg/allows 45.9ppg, VB avg's 67.9ppg/allows 57.1ppg. Both have a margin of victory over 10. VB has Baker and Smith who avg 41.9ppg, NCS has Anderson, Elkins, and Bledsoe who avg 42.9ppg. Both teams have experience and leadership. And there is no question they are both deserving of all thier accomplishments so far. Also, both were undefeated in district play during the regular season. So, I think that it's going to be a great game, but due to stats, I'm still picking NCS by 4 or less.
  7. Are there any Cascade or McEwen fans still on the board, beacuse I'd like their opinion of the game between NCS/VB tonight. Both of those teams have played NCS and VB. Who do those fans and players feel have the better chance of winning tonight. NCS(3-0) vs. Cascade(0-3): 78-61 NCS(3-0) vs. McEwen(0-3): 59-47 66-59 82-72 66-56 57-45 VB(3-0) vs. Cascade(0-3): 71-69 VB(1-0) vs. McEwen(0-1): 63-57 72-58 61-37 I'm trying really hard not to be bias, but that is pretty hard to do. Based just on numbers between schools that have played, I'll go with NCS by 4, maybe less.
  8. How can you say that you can't pick against Union City becasue they haven't lost, yet Nashville Christian has a record of 30-1 but you have Eagleville and Van Buren coming out of Region 5? I know people are using a weaker schedule, but despite that, in the Stength+Success, they are still 3rd in the state. Can Van Buren or Eagleville upset NCS, you better believe it. However, I just can't see it happening due to the fact that Charlie Anderson only needs one more win to get 1000, and I think those boys want to give it to him. With that win it would put NCS in sweet 16, thats why they'll be there. Good luck Eagels, get Charlie 1000!!!
  9. Great job eagles!!! Way to step up with Bledsoe out. Great game by Elkins, the kid was on fire tonight. Keep it going and get Charlie his 1000th. Anyone know how long Bledsoe will be out with the ankle?
  10. Not entirely. Were you referring to that distance that is traveled, or the multiple trips if you keep winning? I wasn't trying to be smart about it, I simply thought that you were talking about the distance. That is why I put those distances down. Anyone have any thoughts on the quarterfinal games?
  11. No point. I figured if you're going to complain then I might as well put my two cents in. (If you didn't get it, your post was pointless too. That was the joke, but it loses humor when it flies right over your head)
  12. NCS's closes district opponent is 40 minutes away. CA-56.6 mi (1hr, 8min) ER-41.7 mi (50 min) HC-57.1 mi (1hh, 29min) JB-51.4 mi (58min) MC-47.3 mi (1hr, 2min) WH-H-34.4mi (40min) (according to google maps)
  13. Congrats to Eagleville on the District Championship. I'm just curious as to what happened to VB because during the two meetings in the regular season they won by an average of 14.5 pts. Did Eagleville just come out and just flat out play'em (wanted it more)? Was it a fairly called game? Was VB missing any players? I'm not trying to start any kind of argument, I wasn't at the game. I am just trying to figure out how VB lost by 12 when beating them by an avg of 14.5 pts during the season.
  14. Everyone keeps bringing up the strength of schedule, I'd like to shed some light. NCS is the 100th toughest schedule in A, which is not very good I'll give you that. However look at the other "ranked" teams that have been mentioned on here: Union City 60th Moore Co. 63rd Culeoka 72nd Summertown 82nd Manassas 93rd Lake Co. 96th Yes, they're better than NCS's but it's not like they are playing so much better competition. So why are these teams "on another level", but the teams they play aren't necessarily better? I'm not saying that NCS can beat all the teams mentioned above, but I am saying that maybe the teams are closer than people think. I guess all I'm really trying to say is, just because NCS has only played 2 teams with winning records doesn't mean they have had a much easier road than the other teams. Also, goos luck to all the teams in the District and Region tournements.
