TC also had a few that should've represented their school better. There were some yelling at our cheerleaders when they came in that they stink. They actually used a different word, but I can't post it on here. There were also some from TC on our side throwing trash at our coaches and players, so don't think for one minute that South Pitt is the only team that has some fans that show no class...you do, too. The fans that do have class just need to ignore the ones that don't. With that being said, I think this is the best high school football game that I have ever watched! Both teams were outstanding! I just wish South Pitt could've gotten themselves settled down and showed what they are truly made of. I remember someone saying in a previous post that this would come down to the team with the fewest mistakes, and we just made too many. Congrats to TC and good luck next week.

PirateTom, we won't be leaving Hogeye Nation til a little after 5:00 cause of work schedules, so you be on the lookout for us. I will definately be on the look out for you at the game. Might be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, though, with the crowd that will be there! Sorry for getting off the topic, folks...just old friends trying to catch up! As for the game, I have no predictions other than I think it will be a barn burner. Both teams are forces that shouldn't be taken lightly. I sure do wish S. Pitt played in Celina cause I live about 25 minutes from there. I would have been there with bells on! I'm already planning a trip to TC with some of my friends from here. As I drove through there on my visit yesterday I thought it looked more like Halloween than Christmas with all the orange & black! I even saw some women on the side of the road selling state champions hoodies. Sure wish I would've had time to stop & get one! Where else could I get one? I may have family coming up for Christmas & I could get them to bring me one.

A compliment like that just goes to show that what class a school in doesn't mean squat. The # of students a school has, not the talent or ability of it's athletic teams, determines what class it is in. Our high school here is 3A (if I heard correctly, close to 4A). They've won only 2 games since they won the state championship 2 years ago, unless you count our win this year in the jamboree against Cookeville HS (5A). A team is only as good as it's players and coaching staff. (Not degrading LA here...just used them as an example.) Sure, the bigger schools have more players to choose from, but you can have only 11 of them on the field at a time. I think S. Pitt's 2007 team could hold their own with many teams in the classes above them and beat the fire out of a lot of 'em. That's this ole gal's opinion, anyway.

My son's "pee wee" football team had some shirts a few years ago with a logo on the back that I think is fitting for today's game..."Offense sells tickets...Defense wins games"...I'm not taking anything away from the offense by no means! The offense exploded from the get go, but the defense was right there to make sure McKenzie's didn't do the same.

Congrats to S. Pitt's D...especially after all the talk on here about them being "lackluster".

My 15 yr. old even asked if we could move to S. Pitt. so he can play for them. McKenzie, I know your boys did what you said they would do...they brought their hearts to that field. Tell them fine job! They have no reason to hang their heads low. It came down to 2 teams...the 2 best in the state. This will leave them wanting more! Piratetom, I am so sorry I didn't call. Did you know the fine folks of Livingston have ties to S. Pitt.? The GREAT Coach Brooks is from here. There was a wonderful article about him in one of the local papers here not too long ago. Anywho, zone, I don't see how I'm getting off easy! I'd hate to see how it would be if I wasn't. Thank goodness I'm coming to the game! I'd hate to experience the wrath of zonepirate!
