  1. Good post.... it was a great game last night played by two good teams. And what a crowd from both schools. Good luck to both and hope both schools make it to state. The home run hit in the 4th was a shot and turned the game around for sure.

  3. CA will have to beat NCS twice later today in order to host a regional game. Will be interesting to see if CA's pitching will hold up today and as they go forward in post season play.

    District 10A

Hey bigchief, how is your season going this year? Your guess is as good as mine on how things are stacking up in 10A. As you well remember i'm sure, getting current scores from around the district from some of the teams in 10A is like pulling teeth. From what i understand, NCS and Clarksville Academy are now tied for 1st with two disctrict games each left to play. I think Houston County and East Robertson might be tied for 2nd-3rd then WHH, Jo Byrns and McEwen in last place. I am probably wrong about the whole thing other than NCS and CA being tied. Looking for someone to clear it up for all of us if they can. Surely there is someone out there that actually knows the standings. Hope life is treating you well and we miss playing you guys this year. Looking forward to districts ...hard to believe the season is so close to being over.
  5. Anyone heard any scores yet from this tournament? Couldn't go this year and would love to hear how the teams are doing down there.... hope the weather holds out for them to get all the games in. Please post when anyone knows any scores.
  6. You could be right...but then I have no way of knowing the records of those teams they played in Florida just as you have no way of knowing the teams NCS played in Florida. So really doesn't matter. My point is not how many teams you played with a winning record but how many teams you beat with a winning record. When you have time maybe you could just mention the 10 teams you beat in the state with winning records ...just to set everything straight. If you can name them from your schedule , then my fault for being mistaken. Guess my point is that Eagleville and NCS have played some very good basketball teams this year and deserve to be where they are tonight. That is my point and it is just offensive to continue to hear peoeple get on here and insult these teams when they have accomplished so much. Guess we will just find out when the time comes who is the best on a certain night.
  7. Since I am not certain which school you are associated with i just thought i would look up both schedules Moore County looks like they only beat 3 teams with a .500 record and not sure but looks like Culleoka only beat maybe 4 teams at the most with records of over .500. So I am confused, why would you come on here being critical of other teams for playing a "CREAM PUFF " schedule when you have your own schedule published right here for everyone to look at ...just like I did and determined that neither of you played a very tough schedule either. I know you guys both have good teams or you wouln't be where you are in post season. Just a piece of advice, don't believe everything you read on here. I have seen both NCS and Eagleville play and trust me they both deserve to be where they are just as much as any other 1A team in the state tonight. Or on second thought, maybe you should just keep on thinking these guys are "CREAM PUFFS" too. Good luck to you guys see you in substate. Oh by the way, just keep on thinking you guys played CA and beat em. Hope you don't find out the real identity until after substate.
  8. Without starting the private vs public debate again I would have to say being a private school would not create any advantage at all unless you are able to offer financial aid and recruit. Some privates can do that which might give them a leg up on some schools and help overcome the obvious advantage you would have with 300-400 more students. I am not aware that any of the above mentions schools in 1A are among the privates that can offer financial aid. So to answer your question I don't think being a private school in this group of teams in the top ten of 1A is any advantage at all considering the only private i know of in that group has 200-300 less students than some of the other teams. But I am sure there are others who disagree.
  9. Thanks for the information. Pretty much what I expected....interesting gap between some of those schools in the top ten. Anyone who thinks a school with 440-530 kids to choose 15 basketball players from doesn't have a true advantage over a school that has 127 kids to choose from just isn't in touch with reality. Doesn't mean that smaller schools can't compete with larger schools but certainly makes it more difficult to do year in year out. Thanks again for those numbers.
  10. Thanks for your input but you obviously don't know the answer to my question. I am interested in knowing the enrollments of the schools. I understand the classifications in place but wondering what the range is for the schools in the top 10 1A. The only time it really matters is if a school has an enrollment of 450-550 kids still playing in 1A. Then there is a problem and it does matter. But since you don't know the answer and dont see the relevance of my question any further inpt from you would be a waste of time on your part.
  11. Just curious here, does anyone know what the student enrollment totals are for the TOP 10 schools in 1A.. 9-12 ?
  12. East Robertson 58....Houston County 43
  13. From what i understand NCS will be the host school but the games will be played at Hillwood HS not Hillsboro. This is due to the gym at NCS being so small. Should be a great District tournament.
  14. This was a close game in the beginning. But like has been said before here, at the start of the 3rd qtr it was clear who was the overall better team on the floor. The 2nd half was a 41-13 game and could have been much worse if the starters had played the whole time. Various changes on defense and the fact that NCS shooting was probably at 60-65% in the 2nd half was the difference. As for WHH not doing the things on offense that usually work for them ...there was probably a reason for that last night...its call defense. There were some hard fouls delivered on both sides which is the way refs are allowing the game to be played these days. NCS had just as many players hitting the floor as WHH during the game. Just want to clear up the record here as far as 55 on NCS getting a technical for a foul last night. He did not get a technical for a foul last night. He had his 5th foul with about 2:30 mins left in the game and although it was a hard foul it was clear it was not intentional. # 10 for WHH came up in the middle of the floor and chest bumped 55 which cause #10 to get the technical and be ejected from the game. Following the ejection #55 made a jester of waving goodbye to him and was then given a technical. Just thought we needed clarity on that issue. Also Scrapman ....your comment earlier on this thread that you "heard" NCS "big man" was in trouble with the "league" whoever that is....for having had too many technicals was totally 100% false information you were repeating here on this site. Not sure where you could have heard such a total lie but i have an idea. For the record, last nights technical was the first technical 55 has recieved in the 4 yrs he has played post for NCS. As for playing like the game was tied toward the end of the game...that is how NCS or any other good team is taught to play. When a player is on the floor you want him or her to always play their best at 100% no matter what the score is and suggesting a player play otherwise is just wrong. Over the years WHH has handed NCS many losses by playiing better basketball ....last night was just a story in reverse. Hopefully the next time they meet it will be another good game with no carry over from last nights finish.
