  2. Judging from their middle school teams the past couple of years, they should have some really good young players coming up. LCMS had a big running back that was really good this year. Don't know the kid's name, but he was tough.
  3. Coach Eric Swenson of Hickman County, region 6 AA. He led the Dawgs to a 9-1 regular season record (only loss coming at Lewis Co.) and currently has them playing Goodpasture Friday night in the third round of the playoffs. HC defeated Lewis Co. last week to avenge their only loss. This all coming after 7 straight losing seasons for the HC program. A fantastic job of coaching to say the least.
  4. Not Eric Swenson. Hickman will be loaded again next year. He'll be there at least one more season, and then he may leave for a bigger job than 2A Huntingdon. The offers will be there. Sorry H-TOWN POSSY.
  5. And we don't care about Huntingdon. Neither does Coach Swenson at this point in time. All us HC folks are worried about is winning our next playoff game against Goodpasture. Guess you don't have that problem since "H-Town" is sitting at the house /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. BigDawgStatus, Legend has now given us his GP pick for the 4th time on this thread. Us folks from HC aren't that slow, are we? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. Congrats to Coach Dickson and the Eagles on the program's first win. EH has a very hard-working group of boys and they get contributions from each player. Very well-coached as well. They should continue to improve as they gain more experience both on the floor and playing with each other.
  8. It's called ball control, and HC does a pretty good job of it. HC needs a strong rushing attack in this one to keep Goodpasture's offense on the sideline.
  9. Question...If you really respect Coach Swenson as you say you do, then why on earth would you start these distracting rumors right in the middle of the playoffs? Don't you think he has a tough enough job preparing his team for G'pasture without getting the rumor mill cranked up? What an idiot. Why don't you find a Huntingdon basketball post and bless them with your insight.
  10. Exactly. Going back to Huntingdon would be a lateral move for Coach. If he really wants to move on, there will definitely be bigger job opportunities than 2A Huntingdon. Hopefully he and his family are happy here in Centerville and will stay for many years to come.
  11. The JV needs some playing time, because obviously they didn't get any against Camden last week. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Hope you all really feel that way. If so, Swenson's got you in his back pocket.
  12. Typical smack-talking loser fan...Going to build his team up to destroy Hickman County...die hard Goodpasture fan to the core...AND not even going to the game! Regardless of the outcome, I bet the HC fans show up in HUGE numbers to support their team, even with it being the week of Thanksgiving. Talk means little. Anything can happen on Friday night.
  13. Like I said, no pressure on HC to win this one. Prepare hard, play hard, play smart and leave it all on the field. Hickman County believes in you Dawgs!
  14. Thanks for the compliment. HC has improved through hard work and perserverance. The drop in classification did help, but as you said they still faced several common opponents who usually beat them. More than anything Coach Swenson has created a change of attitude and mindset among the players, coaches, and the whole football program. They now go into games expecting to win rather than hoping to win. He deserves much credit for the superb job he's done in a relatively short amount of time. Friday night will be a huge challenge for the program. Goodpasture is a tremendous football team. But one positive for HC... no one outside of our county is giving us much chance of winning, therefore the pressure falls clearly on the shoulders of GP. The players can have a great week of preparation, then go out and play loose on Friday night. If they come out and play with the same intensity and focus as last week, it should make for a very close game. Keep the ball rolling Dawgs! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  15. Yeah, just like Goodpasture was going to smoke Camden by 50+, right?
  16. Right as usual, GrizzMan! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  17. Agreed. What a tremendous high school football atmosphere and ballgame. Anyone who didn't enjoy this one will never enjoy a high school football game. And thanks to LC for showing a lot of class and hospitality. More than a few LC fans congratulated us as we walked out of the stadium and wished us luck next week. And a tremendous effort overall by the Dawgs. They set the tone early, despite the fake punt debacle, and came out hitting hard and not backing down to LC's physical style of play. They did capitalize on LC's early fumble and our special teams play was tremendous. Great job by Kyle Scott and Ethan Cannon in the kicking game, especially the late punt that pinned LC at the 7 and set up the safety. Enjoy this one for a short while boys, then it's time to focus on Goodpasture! Tonight's win should go a long way in earning you respect from others outside of Hickman County. Great job /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. Good post. Both teams have had great seasons and should be very proud. Best of luck to the Dawgs tonight. Everyone in HC is hoping for a win, but more importantly the players, coaches, and fans should enjoy the moment. Hickman County has waited for a big play-off game like this for many years. Always remember the road we traveled recently to get to this point. The tough competition and losses endured in 4A have done nothing but build character for this team. Play hard, play safe, and bring back a "W" to Centerville tonight. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. What a joke /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Only an idiot would believe Goodpasture is the powerhouse it is because of playing a tough schedule. They are dominant because they pick from the cream of the crop in north Nashville. Most coaches can assemble a great team when they get to recruit and hand-pick their own players. Doesn't quite work like that in public schools. You're forced to play the hand you're dealt. So best of luck to HC/LC, whoever matches up against a private school later down the line. As for G.B., whine on, brother, whine on as usual. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  20. Agreed 100% about pulling for the public schools. All of us must stick together and hopefully beat the odds that will always be stacked against us, at least as long as the private schools are allowed to play in a public division. Hopefully a representative of region 6A will take down the mighty private school monster.
  21. Yep, sitting around and crying earns you a 10-1 record. But you're right as usual, HC's not a very good football team. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  22. Is this really Larry the Cable Guy in disguise?
  23. There will be no excuses from HC. Lewis County is supposed to win this game after all. They are the higher seed and the game is being played in Hohenwald. All signs point to a big LC win in this one. So you guys shouldn't even be worried about little ol' Hickman County, right? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  24. You could at least spell "miracle" correctly in your sorry attempt at humor. LC's defense is the best we've seen all year by far, but they also didn't see Scott Sowell at full speed. As for my crazy score...don't count on HC giving you any freebies from turnovers this time around, and LC's offense is not exactly overpowering. If HC doesn't turn the ball over, their defense is definitely good enough to keep them in the game for a chance to win it in the end /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
