You better wear shorts and a tank top also bring a bag of ice to set on your head because it get outrageously hot in there. (I think they sell more drinks that way) Watch their Freshmen, they are probably the most quick and agressive defenceive players I have seen this year. Watched them play Tyner for the Region champ and one on one they kept Tyner's Williams at bay and away from the ball. The tall girl has picked it up several notches and was doing some great damage while she was in the game. They play 110% from start to finish. The Jordan girl is a tazmainian devil while on the court.... Amazing hustle. TP Bears saying make our district look good Central !

"I think Walker Valley have a great freshman goup, Lacey Allen, Brooke Hamby, Laura Whitehead, Paula White, and Kasey Brownfield. They did pretty good against the greatly touted McMinn central. W.V.'s JV were undefeated" I have watched several McMinn Central varsity games and they are a very solid team (most of the time) but what about their true freshman team, are they as good as the comments I am seeing?

Amen... on that post. As for them having to pick from the winning team, I think they did the right thing by looking how they played on both ends of the court, not just by high scores. I was very glad to see Candice Cane from Polk get on there and also the girls from TELLICO. The Lambert girl is the main threat to a team and you can tell that by what Tyners coach said in the write up in the Chattanooga paper. The thing about Central is when they sit one down, some one else comes in and fires it up also. The Hearn girl I feel saved to day for them and Elder retreived most of the rebounds they needed to stay out front. I think we will all be seeing each other again in the next few days.

Well it was a tough night, they played hard and just missed a few breaks but I think they will rebound back for the region. At least Central blasted one of the ChattTown teams............ Good job Lady Chargers ! We will all be rooting for you Sat. night. You should not have a problem.

Central is up and down this year and I think it has been long enough between the big Cleveland win that they will be up and win big over Brainard. I think they beat them by about 40 early in the year on an up night. If the coach will sub alot and not try to force it to the middle, they should do well. GO LADY BEARS !

Whats your thoughts on the game, has Tyner ran out of steam? Or has Tellico rested too long waiting for a game? This should be a close game.

Where is AA rules on this one, he would eat this alive. C.C.H.S should blow this game out.

Centrals freshman are pretty good, I dread playing them the next 3 years, besides, you (AA rules) moved up to 3A, you should go to those posts and brag about the two freshmen you all have. They made a huge impact this year and should have seen even more playing time.

McMinn Fire, McMinn Fire......... What the heck is McMinn Fire? Do these girls ride in on a red truck with flashing lights just before the game or something? Run in slinging axes and picks? Sounds like I would not want to meet them in a dark gym.

I will admit I am on the other side of Starr Mt. but if Central wins the district I will be yelling GO BIG BLUE. From watching these girls play, if they will just roll the ball out onto the court and say go play, they have a good chance but I noticed when they try to force the planned plays into place they get in trouble and make way too many mistakes. Its going to be a toss up next week. Tellico needs to stay its course.

Humm, Lost on the road......... Won at home......... same teams........ Sounds pretty even to me. But anyway, Tellico, Meigs, Central and Tyner all play "Aggressively". That is what you have to do these days. First two minuets of the game, read how the refs are calling and then play at that level. You can be #1 in your district if you are like Tellico, agressive AND smart.

Yea, Angie was the one, it appeared she rolled her ankle. Didn't look to bad.

Cleveland had 22 of 34. Yes it was like a prison team, #15 for Cleveland had 4 (HEAD RIPPING) fouls in the first half. She is a monster on the court. I think the calling was a little better than most of the games I have seen up here but it was a long night. Not to mention Cleveland point guard getting hurt and Central girls upchucking in the nearest garbage cans while waiting on foul shots to be taken. In the boy's game a Cleveland guard had a massive cut to the head and had to delay the game for the court cleanup....... no foul called on that one.

Anyone get to watch McMinn Central and Cleveland? Came back from about a 20 point deficit and won in overtime. Cleveland had 4 girls to foul out and Central had 3 with about 4 min. left to play. Central really turned up the defence in the 2nd half. They looked slow and made several mistakes in the first half. I heard it was the first time in several years to beat Cleveland. Glad to see Cental take down two of the local giants this year.

I noticed that also, I think that happened the last time I was there. Any Central folk out ther know why they do this?

Oh I almost forgot, I was PROUD when they sang the National Anthem. "God Bless America" and God Bless hard playing girls.

Pretty good game, hope Jennings ankle is OK, I would have left here out to avoid more risk. Meigs and Central got hosed on the calling this time but it evened out over time. But I guess "a win is a win". Any thoughts on the main factors of this game anyone ?

Big game for them tonight (play Meigs) if they will take Jennings out of the picture and double up the posts it should be a 20 point Central game. It appears Meigs has struggled as of lately. Squeeked by a further struggling Polk. It seems like all the games I have watched Meigs play has a lot of referee involvement.

They have many great players, you have to mention Jordan, she makes a lot of good things happen when she is out there and you may not notice Elder but she is a rebound queen. I think if Davis got some more high pressure court time she would come back quickly to a higher level she was at a year ago. And don't leave out McCaslin and Simbeck, in some cases they should have two posts in there.

Even if you are the worst at shooting and your defence can shut down the other team, you will hit enough shots to win. Thats my kind of B- Ball !

"LET ME SEE IF I"M FOLLOWING THIS LOGIC?" "I guess on any given night anyone can beat anyone. WV varsity lost to McMinn, however the WV freshmen team has played M. Central freshmen 3 times and beat them twice. The Central Freshmen have included all of the key Freshmen except once Kylie did'nt play due to a wrist injury. WV missed a key post starter in 2 of the 3 games. Thus I guess Tucker messed up and should have played his Freshmen team against McMinn and WV would have won the game based on the Central (majority) Freshmen performance against McMinn." That is CORRECT !

Just as he should have done Morgan played alot of freshmen with speed and wore them down. This should have happened the first time they played but I think he was proving a point with the older girls. K. Morgan did a good job of shutting down Harris and Lambert took Leia F. out of the game after that it's all over. I think Quirk was shell shocked because I saw not fit pitches. Shonda was a non factor. It's going to be a long four years for McMinn in these games.

What is going on with the McMinn Central girls? They played like a 12U city team vs. Tyner then played like a WNBA team vs. Polk Co. Hope it smooths out in the last half of the season. Also in the above rankings, they are McMinn CENTRAL, not McMinn. (please don't confuse them with the black and gold on the other side of the creek)
