  1. Kylie Lambert - McMinn Central - Univirsity Of Tennessee Chatt. signee is also on the east team. They had a hard time getting in touch with her but they did. These girls will have a blast playing together. GO EAST !!!!!!
  2. Considering that 8 players have had that bad virus since last Thursday, I would say that they have played pretty good. Also they are still averaging 29.4 point spread per game. I give these girls a big pat on the back for stepping up while they are very sick and getting the job done no matter how sloppy it looked. They are all feeling much better today and just maybe they will pull this one out. Polk CO. is a very well coached team and can play with most any team in the state.
  3. Did not play due to weather, will play next Thursday 01/29.
  4. Even with McMinn Central not playing quite as good as normal, the Loudon girls are probably the fastest, best ball movement and shooting team I have seen in several years. This is the first time I have seen them play in a while. Why has no one been talking about them????? Game was close for a while until Loudon ran out of gas. 61 - 51 Final.
  5. So what is everybodys thoughts on the Central - Maryville game last night? I thought they looked OK and will be getting even better as the season moves on. The defence was great. They just need to protect the back door better......
  6. Hey, Indian... Can't belive you did not start this one !!!! Congrats Katherine you will take this program to where it needs to be! http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2008/no...tennessee-tech/
  7. I went to the Walker Valley play day and Central looked a little rusty but you can expect that. They beat CCS and Science Hill but as usual it was 5 in and 5 out not in any given order. BUT ! Where did all the Sweetwater players come from, Wow I have not seen that many players on one team in a long time. They looked pretty good. Did anybody get to see any of the other D5 teams play down there?
  8. Science Hill played in a playday this past weekend at Walker Valley, saw them play two games, I think they won the first one and lost to McMinn Central the 2nd one. SH does have some good shooters!
  9. One major factor I just found out is the Dist. 5 and Region 3 tourneys will be held at McMinn Co. High School this year. There will be a huge Central crowd and for once, I will not need to drive a long way. (GAS !!!) ball101 please remember... It' McMinn Central not Mcminn. thanks
  10. For the most part. But each did loose a key player or two. You never know what incoming freshman will do. Remember the 2005 season at Central.....
  11. I agree but you also can't leave out playing AT Brainard and also Polk will always be tough. CAN'T WAIT TO START !!!!
  12. Congrats to Miss Barker, she plays as hard as anyone in the state and has the talent to rise to the top of the OVC. She is part of a wonderful family and I wish them all the best. Hard work pays off once again. See you at the Region !
  13. Depends on Brainerd and Tyner. They usually play well in the regular season but blow it during tourny time. Did they lose any players this year? Polk and Tellico will always be tough and this should be the best year for McMinn Central. Can't wait to start.
  14. Just wondering how it went, who looked good and any surprises. I had heard alot of coaches were there.
  15. From talking with her and the parents, she has been close to several large and medium D1 & D2 schools since her freshman year and has weighed all her options and found that UTC was the best fit coach, academics, location and success wise. I also think as do many of her former, current and future coaches, she has the drive to be a major impact right off the get go at UTC. Time and effort will tell....
  16. Here is the artical: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2008/ma...ts-join-lady-m/
  17. "Not denying the success of UTC, but it is considered a mid-major. Thought that some 2nd tier SEC/ACC teams might be interested." I would say she wants to play four years. She has a great chance at having a lot of playing time her freshman year. The University of Tennessee - Chatt. has won the SoCon 7 of the last 9 years, Two girls with shots to the WNBA, several team members on the Deans list, just all around good girls, and several other highlights. Not to mention they beat Rutgers (ha).
  18. For documented facts of the lop sided foul count in the McMinn Central vs. Marshall Co. game go to tnsportpix.com. There are a couple of hundred pictures there of Central fouling Marshall and Marshall fouling Central. I have not completely counted them as of yet but so far it should have been pretty even on the foul count. The good thing about these pictures is in most, you can see the Ref looking on in the background. This would be another good resource for the TSSAA.
  19. Hogeye, hate to not see you all at the round house again this year...... It was our turn to win. We all thank you for the info.
  20. Anyone heard who was given what awards in the districts ? I think they were going to be announced today.
  21. I would like you to consider Kylie Lambert (McMinn Central). She lead the team to the state tournament her freshman year. She was MVP of the district and region with many other awards both her freshman and sophomore years. All state last year. She is leading the area in all stats. She works hard at all aspects of the game from defense to offence and spreads the ball around well as a 5??™11??? point guard. She is very close to the 1500 point mark. Last but not least something she should be very proud of is maintaining approx. a 3.8 GPA.
  22. Real good artical in the Chatt free press about this game. Here is the link: http://www.timesfreepress.com/absolutenm/t...&zoneid=133
  23. Your coach may want to crawl under the bench but some coaches will use this time to work with their girls. Last night we had a team down by 40, their coach used this time to work with his girls on plays and defence set ups. He even used up all his time outs to explain plays. THAT IS A COACH.
  24. Central was a little off. Poor passing and way too many turnovers. Tellico is a good team but I think they were playing a little afraid. Central did what they needed to do by not allowing the three's and driving the lanes. it did not help Tellico any with their big girl in foul trouble. It was scary on the 1st shot by Cole.... about a 40 foot 3 pointer, but they shut her down. I overheard Lambert tell her parents that she was having pains in her leg all night. Maybe thats why she was off her game a little. but when you have most of the team in double figures, what is the other team going to do? Im sure it may be a little closer AT Tellico.
  25. Posted again just to bump it up for these GREAT GIRLS !!!!!!!! As I said...(in a different post).......... Tonight against Polk, we were blowing them out and after the ref's saw the score board, they tried their best to catch them up........ and they did by the half. Calling foul after foul on Jordan and Lambert. But when Central came back out, It was a done deal. Davis new it and the Polk girls new it. It was all over. The final score should have been 102 to 56 but COACH Morgan tempered the game and slowed the score down quite a bit. YE HAAA !!! To K. Lambert in this game,, She scored 15 which got her over the 1000 point mark. (1007 Points) and maybe (3000) fouls. Great Job To A Team That Can Spread It Around !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
