Sure RBS will be better than some teams at state, but how do you think they would do in District 12A/Region 6A? We have quality teams here including Summertown (two straight state trips), Perry County (ditto), Wayne Co (perennial power), and Forrest and Richland (unless they have gone back to AA).

Hey Coach, what was with the Tennessean picking SHS to finish third in district 12A behind WCHS and PCHS? Do you have info that I don't?

WOW!!!! Perry County is really struggling without Edney this season. Weatherly must not have any help.

You have the wrong information. In 2003, we won at Waynesboro by 10 and in Summertown by 21. At the district tournament in Waynesboro, WCHS won by 6 and in the region finals, SHS defeated Perry County. 2003-2004 Season!!! I was at the first ever Girls Substate in Summertopwn when we blew out Goodpasture amd made our first of consecutive trips to state. In 2002-2003 WCHS did beat us 4 times. The confusion here is that I am saying 3 physical years and you were referring to seasons.

You know Coach Willard came to Summertown as a Boys Assistant after serving as assistant to Coach Byrd at Waynesboro for several years. He has really gotten our girls program on the move!!!!

Coach Willard in Summertown has put together a heck of a tourney this week. SHS plays Wayne Co Miss. first and then Davidson Academy in the second game out of Nashville. The private 1A schools in Nash are usually like a buzz saw to get through to go to state.

You are in Mississippi? What do you know about Wayne Co. Mississippi? They play in the Summertown tourney this week and I just don't want to be showed up in our own house, ya know?

It sounds like the situation at CA is pretty bad. I hope they just dont forfiet the season--that would make it real bad for all the other players on the team. I feel that it can be turned around there--just look to the east at the Culleoka boys how things have really turned around there. There is hope at the end of the tunnel!!!!

In general, most of your private schools in Iowa are small in enrollment but must play in upper classes (Carroll Kuemper for instance) has a smaller enrollment than IKM yet plays in class 3A. They are a private school that recruits and i know this to be fact. Just curious--can you name some of the private schools in Iowa?

Loretto by 23--Cross with 30 Stone with 15 for Loretto and Weatherly with 13 for PC--not sure if Edney is playing--heard she is out with injury--for updates, try WLX 97.5 or WDXE 106.7 both in Lawrenceburg.

Weatherly is a very good palyer at Perry County, but PC is definatley a differant team without Edney. PC can beat SHS without Weatherly, but not without Edney.

I can not believe anyone has not mentioned Krystal Edney from Perry County. I agree Jana Cross is probably the best in middle tennessee with runner up honors to Edney. Cross could start on several boys teams!!!!

I don't know if she is injured or not but I can say that beating them by 15 at their house last week probably would not have happened had she been playing. That is a tall order and if it happened then Summertown is VERY good.

Does anyone know anything about this team? Summertown plays them this week and the only thing I have heard about them is that in the past they have been very stout. Also, we face Davidson Academy this week. Can we win both of these games?

I grew up in the state of Iowa and continue to follow my old schools and such. In football they have 4 classes plus two classes of 8-man football. All private schools are lumped into class 4A (the largest) along with the largest schools in the state. it doesn't matter the enrollment--private schools must compete for state titles with the large schools because of the advantage in recruiting.

Zion has improved greatly this year, but they are really no match for Summertown or Wayne Co. Third in 12A won't be anything to be ashamed of with those two teams among the best in Class A. Good luck the rest of the way ZCA and sorry about the whoopin you took from SHS!!!

Did anyone notice that Summertown's Lady Eagles were picked to finish third in district 12A behind Wayne Co and Perry Co? Our first order of business was to dismantle Perry Co by 20+ in their house. Brink on the Lady Cats--but remember that they have only beaten us once in three years!!!!
