  1. Preston Gilbreath of Mt Pleasant; DE/TE I think 6'5 245 sr.
  2. I thought it was a very good scrimmage for both teams, alot of good contact and pretty physical play. The Devils started up like they finished up at watertown last fri nt they were ready to get it on and so was DA, still gotta make the catches when it hits you in the hands a few drops not many, and the kicking game is lacking but in time these kinks in the machine will work itself out, alot of people were pleased with the effort the boyz put forth last nt as it looks like the Devils with continued hard work and hustle "will" continue with their winning ways
  3. Well the Devils were down 1td after 2 plays of the scrimmage, I think the boyz were looking for some of last years team for help, no penetration from the D-line in the begining, flat footed just not really gettn with it, started very very flat but as time went on the Devils displayed a little more of what we are accoustomed to seeing. Each team has to find their own identity and the last part of the scrimmage I think they found a little of that fire that seems to spark the Devils. The O performed fairly well, everyone looked like they knew what to do but needs to display the same kind of intensity that the defence finished up with, recievers had several dropped balls on both teams. Tuesday the Devils better start up quick and not late, I feel like the Devils realize after the first scrimmage that the level of play should be how they finished up with at Watertown ! We'll see. GO RED DEVILS
  4. Now Moto you know I dont miss anthing the DEVILS do.
  5. talk is that recently some assistants left, only 1 assistant and Offutt coaching a 4a school, whats up with that ?
  6. The scrimmage I was told should start around 6:30, man Im ready for some football !
  7. The DEVILS Travel to watertown Aug. 1 then back at the Dungeon the following Tue. the 5th against Davidson Aca the top pick in D2 1a should be a goodun
  8. Alot of quickness is in store for the opponents of the DEVILS this fall, the O and D lines will be incredibly quick also, the Devils are loaded with speed backs, LK Ashabranner #44 should have an outstanding year, his off season weight training has been second to none and also gaining about 20lbs since the season ended last year. Then you have the speedster Josh Dean if he gets loose you Wont catch him ! upcoming fr. Frankie Traughber in the future will have slain many victims, remember this name you may even get to see the back of his jersey this year in the endzone. For those doubters out there the Devils will field IMO the fastest overall team to date. The devils will be ready, you'll see. Boyz get them trucks tuned up !
  9. Actually with East being just a few miles from us and know several people in the area I havent heard nothing out of the indians, I would like to know myself cause we have them 1rst game

  12. Dont be fooled by that moto they looked pretty good at the MTP playday, IMO the backfield looked better, execution up front looked better, great team effort and chemistry, coaches keeping the excitement level up, better watch'em
  13. well 2 begin with, everyone has opinions & everyone has different views, be cautious to the hype and focus on the upcoming season, dont put $ on anyones projections. I just feel that WC has a shot at being a tough team down the stretch if you continue to be team oriented with good sr leadership then the chips will fall where they are supposed 2, but MTP & the "WooD" will b ready. I know its your sr year so work your butt off like never before, enjoy the pain of sprints & drills, go that extra mile when you think you cant, so when its all over you can say I've done my best for me, the team, & WC football. So enjoy to all those who play the "GAME". I'm watching you, maybe we meet again. Good Luck to all. RDM out ! but go RED DEVILS
  14. 1. So Pitt 2. Trousdale 3. Wayne Co. 4. Hampton 5. Whitehouse Heritage 6. Mt Pleasant 7. Friendship 8. Jo Byrns 9. Oneida 10. Cascade sleeper pick is Collinwood, The 2 teams 2 watch as the season progresses is Whitehouse Heritage & Wayne Co gonna b tough. Woulnt surprise me if either of these 2 will be playing so pitt in dec.
  15. As the weather heats up so does the anticipation of the upcoming season ahead. Murphy's HS football magazine will be out soon and as I just viewed his site there are still several coaches yet to return their respective school's survey for the magazine, as stated on the site, this week is the deadline for the surveys or you will not be in the magazine. I enjoy and look foward to the mag each year, it lets you know them FRIDAY NT LIGHTS are not far away. Get your surveys in. Any other football nuts out there enjoy the mag ?
  16. See ya back, man if its in your blood you just cant get enough, sometimes I find myself reving that chevy in my drive way, its on the way, gotta checkout them fog machines soon also, great to see ya back on T, & I got your message a few weeks ago "ole man" you must have not got mine
  17. Well here we go again, $$$$$ talks ! All you coacht'ers need to express your thoughts on this issue, there are a few different plans that the board of control will vote on this week, there is even talk of dropping the multiplier and all us small guys know what that means. Ronnie Carter quoted in the tennessean that the multiplier hasnt worked. In the 3 school years before the multiplier private schools won 32 division 1 state titles, in the 3 years since they have won 33. Looks like the answer to that would be to increase the multiplier, but what do I know. Sure there are some small issues to be presented and worked on but the whole system is not in shambles. 6 st titles will be up for grabs under one of the plans all that means is another revenue source for TSSAA, if some of you people are aware of these issues please give your comments.
  18. And may I add that he is a freshman to be this fall, 10 of 11 with 1td pass against harpeth 1rst team, gonna be a good one ! IMO the defence overall has a slight edge over last years team ( overall ) all 11 very quick. Due to other teams in the reigon closing the gap I feel that the reigon champ will have a loss or 2 when its all said and done. The DEVILS have some minor work to do but I think they have the potential to make another good run in 08, watch out for this freshman to be bunch in a year or 2
  19. The Devils started the spring with alot of ?'s to be answered and after the first scrimmage some were. The Devils D seems to be up for the challenge, the speed up front created lots of problems for the opponents, central was unable to do much of nothing against the #1 D, quickness is in no short supply, overall team speed is one of the quickest if not the quickest teams Ive seen at JB, and with more reps is only gonna get better. The O spurtted a little on the first pocession and went 10 & out but with each of the following pocessions continued to get better and began to display a little of what we are used to seeing, QB Adkins had some nice completions and the backs had some good runs behind the line that seemed to get better as time wore on. The 1's had 4 pocessions each with the Devils a 4 to 0 advantage in the contest. There were some very bright spots from some of the younger players once they got there shot, a great future is in store for the Devils, upcoming freshman Frankie Traughber had some amazing runs from the tailback pos, freshman to be QB Brandon Adkins gonna be a good one, showed he can pass or run when need be. Overall the Devils looked pretty good but still not where we need to be. The Devils travel to Harpeth this coming fri putting the finishing touches on spring 08. Are the Devils ready for game 1 ? NO but the potential for another sucessful season is there, participation in summer workouts should be priority #1 from the sr leadership to the staff, its your season sr's not mine, my only wish is for you to be the best you can be. GO RED DEVILS!!!
  20. Hey Holder you've got it bad just like myself, wont make the fri nt games we scrimmage Harpeth, but will be there bright and early sat, man I cant hardly wait ! I wish the Devils could've got in this thing, anyways lookin foward to it, all day and evning football what more could you want
  21. have the jackets already had spring practice if not then when ? I watched the middle school last year and that group is something special, some of those boys will be playing this fall no doubt
  22. The Devils will field a very speedy team this fall, from the backs to the front lines quickness is in no short supply. The size factor is always a little on the small side with the exception of just a hand full of bigun's each year. Those running the ball for the devils should be Josh Dean a 5'7 140lb burner- LK Ashabraner 5'10 160 great field vision with great speed, both these boys very strong, a man of a fullback returns after 2 years of injuries, Issac Bourne a 5'10 190lb bull lookin to bring the pain each play 110% every down. I think the Devils will be just fine this fall when it comes time to strap it up, some younger players are putting some heat on some of the older players and thats a good thing only time will tell
