  1. there is a big reason for south pitt to move up, competition. i can assure you that the close games between boyd and tyner where more fun for the coaches and the players than the blwo outs. i bet the regions will be chocked full of teams and very little wiggle room to schedule some tough non-region games. winning 60-0 is no fun for either team involved.
  2. tyner will go further in the playoffs then half the teams listed
  3. owls were vastly better lst nigh. if they win the rest of their region games they will be the region champs.
  4. get some guys healthy, work on stopping the option. big test for tyner, probably underdog going in.
  5. acoa, great team, great program....BUT fulton, mccallie, south pitt, howard, brainerd are tyners non-regongames THIS year. brainerd is down and fulton is not quite as good as they have been. but all 5 of these teams were pushing the top ten in their diviions when scheduled. Alcoa has two tough non-region games, whte house and maryville. but why would such a program play 1-7 BT Washingtn and 1-6 Spring Hill?
  6. 51. Alcoa 38.5% 52. Goodpasture 38.3% 53. York Institute 37.1% 54. Jackson Co. 36.7% 55. Stewart Co. 35.7% 56. Westmoreland 34.2% 57. Gatlinburg-Pittman 29.9% 58. Oakhaven 18.8% schedule strength according to coacht.com looks like the best way to get ranked is to beat up on bad teams..... half of the so called top 10 are in the bottom 8 on schedule strength
  7. i see where tyner is not even a thought, which leads me to believe very little thought went into the voting. just beat the number 5 at the time, and number 10 now, 3a school. mccallie and boyd coming up soon, wins there should either get them the respect owed or shut me up.
  8. i believe fulton has hooked up with a private school that has no football program and picked up a kicker and a punter
  9. i heard one of stumpsguys on the radio acting like boyd has locked the region up nd is a sold pick to go all the way. tyner o getting much love. tyner has a shot at beating mccallie and they will go into te swamp and run the ball down the bucs throat, and hope sequatchie or bledose beat marion and the log jam will be clear, tyner region champs
  10. From watching Channel 9 sports last night, they said BB was going for the win, not a tie. They got the 2 point conversion on the first try but a penalty negated it, and they came up inches short on the next attempt after the penalty if the above is the ase, and they had a kicker that could kick a 35 yard xp and they went for two instead then that was poor coaching. not having a kicker that is above average is poor coaching, somewhere on that soccer team is someone who coul do the job. knowing how boyd kids pull together in every sport, i can't see someone not stepping up and adding a huge piece to the puzzle. boyd athletes support as many sports as they can.c
  11. i do not understand how boyd can not have a terrific kicker. they have a solid soccer porgram. the fact that they had to go for 2 after the penalty is something that should not hppen at boyd. should have someone they fee can make a 34 yard extra point.
  12. usually a rivalry has to be competative, at 18-0 howard doesn't seem to be very competative year end and year out.....
  13. tyner goes on the road and beats a top 5 3a team in howard 28-19. woul not count a eay win if alcoa was to meet tyner down the road
  14. where arethe rams and tigers in the state polls?
  15. has howard ever beat tyner? heard they haven't, but i find that hard to believe.....
  16. i am sure i will be disagreed with but you fans from smith cty need to come on down to howard and watch the best game of the weekend, tyner @ howard. huge, high octane crowd, two unbelievable bands, best game of the weekend in chattanooga area, an undfeated howard team against a 2a power in tyner. speeed and more speed, should be an exciting high scoring close game. the pirates and the bucs might get ugly before the halftime show.
  17. south pitt has their non-region foes their arch enemy marion cty, and 2 top 10 in th state teams in 2a in tyner and boyd buc. i do think they could replce the temple game slot with a maryville or an alcoa, or a 3a powerhose or a div II powerhouse. i think they would show they can compete with any team in the state, may not beat maryville, but just might.
  18. the call was correct, several tv stations had video of the catch, it was a caught ball. silverdale should not be taken lightly. young team in spots. if you can stop the run and force the passing game you should win the game. montgomery is the leading runner and probably receiver as well. the seahawks are well coached and get the most out of every drop of talent they have.
  19. everybody has boyd better than tyner, tyner just played south pitt close, why doe everone feel boyd can't play it close or even win?
  20. linebackers seem to play the run hard and leave the slot over the middle open a lot. if tyner can repeat te effort and discipline they showed early inthe brainerd game they can beat anybody.
  21. score tied at 6-6, sequatchie had the momentum, punt downed on the 1 yard line, 2 minutes to go in the half. tyner drives 99 yards for a TD and a 2 pt conversion. momentum shifted goin into the locker rooms andtyner came out and dominated the second half with 5 touchdowns. tyner needs to find the second half intensity at the kickoff against howard to win that game.
  22. tyner played well last week, played a great s pitt team. they get the train back on the tracks in a big way 49-13
  23. a couple of articles in the chattanooga paper on several kickers in the area...
