That is funny....Riverdale.... For some reason Signal Mountain ended the year somewhat HOT...but you never know how the tourney will change that. With the Finals being in Dunlap, I agree on Sequatchie. I hope the winner is from the Central Time Zone.

Congrats to the winners. Lots of good points mentioned. I can understand all of them, pro or con. Not to be negative, but One sad note for this high level tourney was numerous pitching violations, and the umps did not know the rules. Pitchers were not maintaining contact with the dirt while in stride. crow-hopping and jumping air born. One even double stepped sideways with rear foot to clear the hip during the pitch. Was brought to umps attention, but they had no clue, and didn't even discuss it. Not to mention double presenting. To me, this is worse than anything. Wish everyone the best, hope most teams had fun,...... Polecat

I like Sequatchie, if Jason will make Dekalb's tall guys foul early and sit a while. But also Concerned with Dekalb's pressure and high % shooting. I call it even.

Dekalb is very well coached. Bledsoe played them twice this year. They will jump on you early in the 1st qtr. Multiple players score. Not a physical team, but have a high level of defensive pressure, play the pass very well, and push the ball upcourt. Very quick to the ball. On offense, Dekalb passes the ball extremely well, and very fast. They pass to the open player, and make a high % of open looks, regardless of distance. Not very tall, but rebound very well from all 5 players. Good communication. Dekalb may not put 80+ points on Dunlap, but they will know every play the Indians run and defend accordingly. Hope this helps...

indian, player didnt hurt an ankle.....enough said. as far as signal goes...you may be right when they play at home. it is too funny that both ND and SIGNAL didn't get it done saturday nite, regardless of why.

Couldn't agree with you more about the Refs in this one. Game was sloppy because of the lack of constant calls in first qtr. At half time, Bledsoe had 13 fouls and Sig Mtn had 5. Officating in the first game at Signal was much better for sure. Bledsoe had it down to 3 point game early in 4th, but had 4 starters foul out during the middle of 4th qtr. By 3:00 left in game, it was foul and free throw time. Made for a long ride home for sure. Hope this ref crew don't make it to the valley Saturday nite..... Polecat

Can you update the standings ? Thanks. Wonder where ND is now, after Dunlap win. Been a great week so far. Bledsoe held CCS to "7" first half points, with a 20+ point win. BCHS boys played tough defense. Shut down the big 3 pointers. Fun night in the "Head of the Valley".....long drive home for a frustrated CCS coach. It is amazing how differently the games are when CCS is not playing in the "shed" in downtown Chatt town. See everyone in Dunlap Friday nite. (get there early, if you want a seat) Polecat....

You know everyone in Bledsoe does not agree with the "whiners that love bashing the coaches". So, if all the apples are bad, due to a few rotten ones, then that is too bad. But it is not the whole picture. Many of us post infrequently, and only post in support of the program,................... Regardless of who is the head coach. Good luck to Coach Reel. Polecat

So out of a 100+, they probably brought it down to the top 5-10 candidates to interview. It would be realistic they could pick within a couple weeks. But remember, the candidate may not be available to start before the end of the school year. So, do get ready with the key to city too soon....... Polecat

As broadcast on local radio WUAT this morning..... "Over 100 applications were received for the head football coach position. Kiper stated that any applicant would also need to be certified to teach. Not only teach, but to teach one of the two (2) open teaching positions that are currently vacant in the school system, to be considered for an interview. This would make some applicants not eligable for consderation." (end qoute) So, not knowing what teaching positions are open, leaves this fan wondering what applicants would be considered to coach the team.
