  1. Give Kingston the credit they deserve, I didn't think they would make the playoffs and now it looks like they could end up as the # 3 team or better in what is a very tough region. Kingston wins by 21.
  2. It is quiet...No O.S. fans? Anyway Rockwood wants this one bad. It will solidfy our hold on second place and give us a first round home playoff game. Also, We haven't beat O.S. in a while. It has always been a close game, but the tigers have come up short. Not this game. Tigers will get it done! Go Tigers Beat O.S.!
  3. Oliver Springs has had our # for a few years now. It is time for a change. Rockwood will need to have a great week of practice and prepare to pay back the Bobcats. Go Tigers!
  4. Alcoa handed it to Rockwood. It is downright embarassing. I know our team is better than they showed, but no one else in the state knows that. Alcoa is a very talented team and deserves to be the #1 team in the state. They have talked the talk and walked the walk. No one can deny them that. Before the season is out, Rockwood will play Alcoa again. Will it be the same outcome...I hope not. Rockwood is back to work and a wake up call has been dealt to them in an embarassing and serious way. Good luck to Alcoa, we will see you again.
  5. Rockwood has a lot to prove to itself and to the rest of the state. 35-0 shouldn't have happened. The thing will be how will the RW Tigers respond? Are they still contenders or are they just pretending? I believe I know the answer, but do the tigers? Attitude, Team, and Pride are being tested. Let's go Rockwood. As for Meigs Co., they are an excellent ball team. They have some very good athletes and #44 is back. He is a very good athlete. 2 is also very good. They are equally as big as Rockwood and their team is headed in the right direction. We will see which tiger will be the dominate one on Friday. Good luck!

  7. Alcoa is a top 3 team. I will say that we will be back. There are a few things that we were able to do and we moved the football on you. We played terrible, but most of that was do to excellent play by Alcoa. Rockwood must go back to practice and will have to settle for 2nd in the region. I believe we are much better than we played, but only time will tell. As for Alcoa, excellent job and keep up the good work. We will see you soon enough.

  9. I have heard that Alcoa struggles in the kicking game? Is that true? Rockwood's is the best its been in a long while.
  10. Alcoa06, I am a little ignorant, but I doubt Rockwood will just show up and take a pounding and go home. Alcoa does have more athletes...this is true and they are one of the top 3 teams in the state. Everything indicates that Alcoa should win this game, but don't expect Rockwood to just step aside. It will be a great game and the Tigers will have to play the best ball of their season to win. I do hope someone from our Region makes it to the semifinals and beyond, but Rockwood will just play one game at a time. The rest will take care of itself. 1 stone... ATP.
  11. Alcoa is loaded and is expected to be a contender for state. Rockwood has been a surprise to people including Rockwood fans. The paper matchup leans heavily towards Alcoa. The scores from common opponents lean towards Alcoa. I am also sure that most people think that Alcoa is the better team and is heavily favored to come out with the victory on there home field. We will see come Friday night what the outcome is. Rockwood has a huge obstacle to overcome. Alcoa is loaded and should be a huge contender for state. In a sense, Alcoa has all the pressure on them. Every Coach in the Region chose Alcoa as the team to beat. The media no matter where they are from has Alcoa being the team to beat. With Fiegler, Warren, Lyndsey, and a host of others, it would be a huge upset by any standards if Rockwood wins.
  12. Alcoa does have way more talent than any other team in region 2aa.
  13. COMPLETE AND TOTAL GARBAGE!!! Coach Meadows should not have to put up with this. Where is his administration???? The principal needs to make some examples of people. Where is the law enforcement???? People throwing things need to be hauled off. No coach, no matter how good or how bad should have to put up with this!!! What an embarassment!!! Where is the class? What are these people thinking? Unbelieveable! Whether you like the guy or not...personally I don't know him, but escorts for the Coach???? If I was associated in anyway with this program I would be mad and embarassed. Get control people and some need to have some respect. Things like this happen when people let idiots do what they want to do. Moving the team to the other side of the field...unbelieveable. People shouldn't throw things at the opposing team, much less the home team. This is nuts. Get control!!!!
  14. Bledsoe Co. is a bit out of the way, but they will be ready to play. From what I've heard they have two good running backs and are much better than last year. Rockwood is going to have to play against this team. As I have said before...On any given day the best team can be beaten. No team is perfect and if Bledsoe believed that they would be beaten by 50, why would they even show up. Rockwood just needs to be ready to play.
  15. Alcoa has talent to play with anyone. They are fast, strong, and big. They should have a great chance of winning state. No one in 2aa can play with them. They handled Sweetwater and Oliver Springs. Fiegler is a smart qb who is a great passer. Warren is a D-1 prospect. Lindsay is one of the top two backs in East TN. Alcoa should go 9-1 for the regular season. Heritage doesn't have a chance. Alcoa 49 Heritage 6
  16. Oliver Springs all but locked up the 4th spot. Shame for Harriman, but they aren't out yet. Kingston wins this one. Oliver Springs is down from last year. Certain teams are taking advantage of this. We will see if Kingston is one of them. Kingston - 32 Oliver Springs 14
  17. BigCat1 God bless America, I am glad we can express our opinions. The thing is...if you dish it out, be prepared to get it right back. Plus, I am the type to tell you what I think. Take it or leave it. But I won't get ugly. After all, it's not about you or me...This thread is about the guys who strap on the green and gold...and the blue and red for Wartburg. I am pulling for Wartburg to beat Oliver Springs. I love this country and I definitely love football. Enough of the silly stuff. Rockwood plays Bledsoe Co. on Friday. 4-0 with one game to go. One game at a time.
  18. Bigcat...you complained earlier that Webb wasn't "developing talent". Now you are complaining that he substituted too much. It is obvious you don't have a clue about anything. 4-0 sitting on top of the region. If you are a Rockwood fan, it would be a good time to start supporting them.
  19. That is a little cheap taking a shot at Latham. He is a good kid and is a great player. As for Alcoa, they look like state contenders. We will see if they can keep it up.
  20. I would like to think Region 2 2a is pretty tough. Alcoa, Sweetwater, Rockwood, Wartburg, Oliver Springs, and Harriman. Our region has swept region 1 2a the past two years. I still think Lipscomb, and Huntington are the teams to beat, but I think Alcoa has a good shot, and Rockwood and Sweetwater are right behind.
  21. No disrespect to Sweetwater, because they are a great team, but Alcoa is hands down the best in the region. Last year Alcoa spanked O.S. in the 1/4 finals before running into a dominant Lipscomb team. A year later with all their same players back minus 3 seniors, they are better. To be the best you got to beat the best. In my book ( which matters as much as dirt) Alcoa is the team to beat. I do feel like they should win state...but there are still plenty of games to go and only time will tell if Alcoa will represent Region 2a. Good luck to Sweetwater, believe it or not I am actually pulling for you. Hopefully things will go the wildcats way, but it will take a little luck.
  22. There is more talk about moving the game to Thursday, but nothing is set in stone yet. 50 - 50 chance right now.
  23. Any team can be beaten on any given day. Tigers stay focussed. Play like you know how! How many great teams have had trouble with "easy opponents" simply because they didn't take them serious. Ask Miami after UT beat them. Work hard and play hard. It doesn't matter if we are playing Alcoa, Sweetwater, O.S., Wartburg, Harriman, or the school for geriatrics (old people). Play each game like it's your last because it just might be.
  24. Dustin Lathem is much better this year, but he won't be enough to beat the tornados. Too much talent. I don't think anyone in the region has a chance against them. They should win state.
