  1. Didn't realize that Kottas was out -- what happened to him? Great week BA -- Congratulations!
  2. Show some class Bluewhirlygig . . . a young man is dead, a team is attending a funeral and will miss state. Not very appropriate for this thread. Start a "McCallie is the best ever!!! xoxoxoxoxo!!!" thread for this bull . . .
  3. Dip a little water out of the bowl . . .
  4. I'm not sure what "ethnicity" the BA students would have been making comments about. The majority of BA's starters are of the same ethnic make up as Ridgeway's. I would be completely surprized if you heard correctly . . . sounds like a deflection of critisizm to me . . . The BA fans that I heard were rowdy, but not vulgar. We'll go with your "few bad apples" theory. I sat behind the Ridgeway Students and you were into the game and made a lot of noise. I would agree with the other posters that the profanity was uncalled for and took away from what was a great showing by both the Ridgeway team and its fans. I can tell you that if you did chant "blow the whistle" or "wear your glasses" I must have missed it. I didn't miss the 5 or 6 times that you went with the "BS" chant thought. News flash -- just because "it happens" doesn't make it right. It didn't seem to "happen" for Mitchel, Bolivar or BA . . . (now I sound like someone's mother).
  5. It would have been nice to have a program but I don't think it was BA's responsibility. To my knowledge they were not "hosts" althought they were certainly given home team status for the second game. Given the $10 entrance fee and the 5,000 + in attendance, I think the event could have covered the cost.
  6. The final score indicates that BA is not up to Ryans level yet -- no argument there, however In Hoc's suggestion that they don't deserve the respect of DII Middle Region is way off base. Coach Cash is in his first year and, as you mention, has already made huge strides. He is starting a full year program (which to my knowledge BA hasn't had) and is involved with the Middle Schoolers as well. This team is young (1 Senior this year) and will only get better. Watch them when this Freshman class become seniors . . .
  7. From someone who was there (and is relatively unbiased -- you clearly either weren't or aren't . . .), it was a match worth seeing. The 112, 119, 135, 140, 152, 160 and 189 matches were all hard fought and could have gone either way. While BA has a long way to go, I suspect that the wrestlers on Father Ryan's team respect the BA guys. The comment about Ryan's JV winning shows a clear ignorance . . . I'll assume you are "blinded" by "school spirit" . . .
  8. He wrestled 119 tonight, but should wrestle 112 at state
  9. Ryan won -- I had the final score 50 to 14. Don't know the Ryan guys but BA winners were: Cash @ 119 Tech over John Mark Sloan Wilson @ 135 Decision Brooks @ 160 Pin A lot of close matches in the lower/mid weight classes. BA was hurt by injuries (didn't have our starters for 130, 171 or 275), but Ryan in tough.
  10. Not exactuly sure who you think his 5 best players are or who you think he left on the bench . . . ??? He did use his bench, but mostly in relief with those players getting very few minutes. This game was not won or lost by coaching -- this game was won because Whites Creek shot lights out in the first half. Rouse was amazing (not sure he missed a shot in the first 2 quarters). WC did a great job of handling BA's come back and they made the shots in the end when it counts. Great high school basketball game!
