A man of high character does NOT give test answers to his students. That is cheating. It is dishonest. And it did happen a couple years ago, and is part of his public file. Brother quit HV to go to EHS to play baseball? Say what? EHS's baseball program peaked the last year Payne was there. Now they have Trix or Nix as coach. Havent made the regional in years. Okay let me state up front that I am biased, as I am a Unicoi fan, first and foremost. However, those of us that were around, have been around and are still around know the facts regarding Dugger. He cheats. He played a player he knew was ineligible(kid from the islands who was too old and was using a fake birth certificate--Bunn? or something like that). It wasnt discovered till Burns from Bristol discovered it while the kid was playing at East Tenn., and Dugger got turned in. Im sure he claimed he didnt know----what else could he say. This among other things cost him his job at Eliz. Remember it was Ed Alexander who gave him the boot and the only reason he got the girls job two years ago is because several others turned it down. Now there are those that will say that a person can change etc........Well this same person got suspended from teaching just a year or two ago for CHEATING! He gave students answers to standardized tests, tcap tests I think, and he got caught and got suspended by, ED Alexander. So anyone who thinks Dugger didnt work behind the scenes with Dale Bowling to get her to transfer is stupid. Its common knowledge that Dale coached an AAU type team which Kara was on, and Dugger followed that team around like a puppy dog all spring. Once a snake always a snake.

This is a high school board people. Take your elementary school mentality to the playground. You mommas will find that Tolley does not play mommy or daddy ball. Good coaches dont.

South Greene. No class. They cuss other players during the game. They play dirty. Sports are supposed to build character. Just depends on what type of character you are trying to build. Good or Bad. I hope my devils get a chance at the classless rebels again.

pgsg10fr, so greene has a good team and a strong history, but dont count unicoi out just yet. the devils are better than they have been playing and may have something left for you. fyi those four letter words dont impress anyone. so greene should really clean up their mouths

Blue Devils cruise past Pigeon Forge as expected. Eliz implodes against Rutledge, losing by double figures. Cyclones coach probably now thinks "my name is Earl". Unicoi v Rutledge should be a good one. Its at Walters STate isnt it?

The devils are used to it being us vs them. It actually fires them up more. The game is won between the fences not outside them. And I will never understand why Elizs coach played the first game like he did. He had fresh veteran pitchers and didnt go for it. Grady is a great coach. Dont give him an opening. Cyclones should have gone all out to win first game. Anyway, great tournament. Lots of action and close games.

Being a devil fan, I must disagree with your assessment. To catch someone you have to beat them. The cyclone baseball and girls basketball teams can say they have caught the devils. Until the softballers beat the devils in a game that matters, and get over that mental hump, they are still in Unicoi's rear view mirror. With that said, the cyclones played a great second game, and have definitely closed the gap. Talent wise they are right there. I wouldnt swap coaches though. Good luck at Rutledge. I may be eating these words next week if the rematch takes place and the outcome is reversed.
