  1. yeah I think you are wrong on that one. There is no need to hire and spend $10,000 on an outside program to run your strength and conditioning program when you have coaches capable enough to run a great one. The majority of time if you read enough and study enough about weigh training and conditioning you will be adequatly prepared. To be honest, no matter what program you have or teach, it is ultimatly up to each indiviual player to work as hard as he possibly can be in order to make the team the best it can be. If teams work together and work hard enough, anything is possible. Plus, the $10,000 that it would cost to spend on an "outside source" could be better utilized in other aspects of the program. I think the Bulldogs are about to turn a corner that we haven't had in awhile. Trust be, great things take time and the time is quickly approaching...GO DAWGS!!!!
  2. Very classy post. I respect that. It is good to know that you can conversate with the opposistion and not have to do alot of trash talking. I think both teams play similar games and it should be a run and gun fun game to watch
  3. Bearden has a few post players. 6'6 240 FR 6'4 180 FR and 6'2 240 Sr. It will be tough on the Bulldogs down in the paint, but if there guards are hitting from the outside and White is penetraiting and drawing fouls they should be able to hang with RE. I don't think that Bearden has faced a team this year that is as atheltic as they have been but that should change in the State. Hopefully it will be a good game either way and if Tony White Jr can get to the FT line then the Bulldogs will stay in the game and in a close game, anyone can win. The breaks and bounces can go either way
  4. [ Remember that Raleigh Egypt has lost in the state tournament the past two years to AA champion Bolivar. Did Raliegh Egypt just move up to AAA this year?
  5. I think this will be an excellent game. It is kinda of good to be playing a team that you don't know much about or for that matter a team all the way across the state. No one can really do alot of trash talking because neither team or its fans knows much about the other team. Based on the records, these two teams are two of the winnest teams in the state this year. It will be intresting how the post players step up for the Bulldogs. I will put the Bulldog guards up against anyone in the state. It should be a very high paced game and their should be alot of exciting action in the Boro. Too bad I can't get off work to attend but I'll be listening and keep track of the game on the internet. Good luck to both teams and it sure would be nice to bring one back to the DOGHOUSE
  6. I tell you what, I haven't been to many other gyms in the state but the Doghouse at Bearden is one crazy student section!!! At the substate game last night it was one of the loudest crowds I've ever heard for a high school game. It was pretty electric. It's hard to compare to other student sections because I havedn't seen that many. Hopefully they will bring the doghouse to the Boro and represent as they have all season long in leading the Bulldogs to a 19-0 home record.... OLAY OLAY OLAY OLAY!!!
  7. Gotcha. Is it right off the interstate? I've probably passed by it countless times then. All I know about Bolivar is that it produces some incredible Basketball players. I just wish that Kemp would have come East instead of West to play his college ball. Best of luck in the State Tournament and hopefully I'll be able to come to the Boro and watch em play. Wouldn't it be neat if they let the Class AA and Class AAA champions play in an exhibition game the week after the state tournament...not that would be a game I would watch
  8. I don't have a clue where Bolivar is but I know it's not in middle or east TN...thus it would mean that it is located in West TN...maybe not Memphis.
  9. What the heck are you talking about? If you would have read the context of the post you have have understood what I was referring to. I was referring to the fact that no AAA EAST TN team could beat a class AA Memphis team, ie Bolivar or Mitchell. I made no refrence or said anything about Hamilton. Before you try and post something that has some validity to it, make sure you know the context of the conversation. Hint I said EAST Tennessee...I don't think that Memphis Hamilton is located in East TN.... I thought so!!!
  10. I don't think that is what he meant. I think he meant that most AAA East Tennessee teams could beat most AA East Tennessee teams. I'm pretty sure that no AAA East Tennessee team could beat either Bolivar or Mitchell.
  11. This is when it is good to be in the AAA side of the bracket. Hands down, Class AA has the best teams in the state.
  12. White was on fire...Sibley was pulling from the Hash Mark...BJ was playing defense like the glove GP!! The atmosphere was incredible at the Doghouse...never heard it louder. Even Bruce Pearl was in attendance. Good luck against Raleigh Egypt. Don't know to much about their team, but their record speaks for itself 33-1. Looks like the Dogs will have their hands full. This will be a great game. Hopefully the first round this year will end up like the first round from the last time Bearden went...a WIN at the buzzer. well maybe not that close, but heres to the Dogs.
  13. very much so a coach who plays team ball...it just so happens that he has one of the finalist for Mr. Basketball in AAA this year so sometimes it looks as if it is star ball sometimes. In 11 years as Coach of the Bulldogs he has won 307 games...and astounding 27 games a year. That my friend is a pretty good record. He just knows how to get the most out of the players that he has and uses their strenghts to the other teams weakness.
  14. It will be the complete oppostie of this years sqaud. they have 3 freshman on the varsity that are 6'4 and over. It will be intresting to see how the offense changes when it goes back to be more post oriented. They should be fine as long as Blevins is coaching there. He is one of the top high school coaches in the entire state. He knows more about basketball and adjustments that need to be made than any other coach I have ever met. Tommmorow night should be an incredible game and an incredible atmosphere at the Doghouse. I suggest getting there early if you want a seat. The gym will be packed
  15. Oh I wasn't there...I supposed you didn't see when Hargis fell in front of Dustin Craig and then got up and hit him in his privates...oh but I wasn't there. Facts are facts their partna!!! Bulldogs 79 Panthers 55....what. SAY SOMETHING THEIR BIG BOY!!!!
  16. I didn't have to be at the game to know when an excuse for losing is made. The reason why the boys from Powell couldn't play the game that they are acustomed to playing is probably because it is not the same way Bearden is use to play. Finesse overcomes strenght alot to times
  17. Jenkins has been out since Dec with a back injury. I think that the game monday night will be very very exciting. The crowd should be rocking and if the Dawgs are shooting weel, it will be tough for them to get beat. I don't know much about DB but know they usually have a good sqaud. Is Daniels still coaching up there?
  18. I guarantee that the refs didn't make a difference in a 24 point loss. Regardless of what the outcome, the Bulldogs were the better team last night. The first meeting between the two schools the panthers only won by 2 points....without Tony White Jr. It is obviously that he makes a huge difference in most games that he plays in. When you create your own shot and get to the foul line, you are gonna get some calls go your way..ie Micheal Jordan. Be gracious in defeat and best of luck versus Greeneville on Monday night. Hopefully Region 2-AAA will be able to get to the Boro' with both teams
  19. A very classy post. Thanks for the compliments and hopefully we will represent the District well. It is obvious that ya'll have been there before as represented by your picture that you have on your post.
  20. if a player drives to the basket and is smart enough to keep doing it and smart enough to know that he is a good FT shooter then why not keep doing it. All that matters is that both teams played well. I believe that Bearden is a team on a mission on as evidence by the score tonight over the panthers. I don't have to be a basketball coach to figure that one out. I can be a causal fan and see that a better team won. It's ok to loose. Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat
  21. The two teams playing for the Region 2-AAA Basketball championships don't have to worry about their players worrying about spring practice for Football...neither team has a head coach yet. Hopefully both teams will find one sooner than later. It would be weird having your spring practice finish and then two weeks or so later go to summer camp. I just think that is kinda odd!! Good luck to both teams tonight and in search of their head coach for the Pigskin
  22. From what I'm told Coach Fendley and Coach Tanner are running them.
  23. I don't go to Maryville and am not from there either. I do enjoy cheering for them because they have one of the best men that I've met coaching their football team, George Quarles. It's amazing how good your program can be based on the values and ethics of the head coach...ie Maryville High and Carson Newman Football teams.
  24. Of course not, I was just ragging you. I wasn't at the game last night so I have no idea how the game was played. I just don't think that refs can make that much of a difference in a game decided by over 15 points. I know it can be tough to lose, trust me been there done that many a time. I just think that both teams played hard and the team that played the best won last night. I would say that if both teams played each other 10 times, the score would be 5-5. both teams are great clubs and have an excellent future ahead of them. Hopefully the Dogs will be able to represent 4-AAA well and lead us to Murfreesboro
