when I posted my thoughts, was it official? I'll hang up and listen BUB

this is 100% fake news at this point. There is nothing confirmed yet.

you are correct. He must have been looking at the girls scheduled. Bearden beat OR in the Holiday tournament in Greeneville. Tonight's matchups in Wildcat Arena are going to be incredible. First game pits Maryville vs Farragut. Maryville is peaking at the absolute perfect time of the year. On the other hand, it is hard to beat a team 3 times in a row.... example (Bearden vs Maryville in District Championship). Going to come down to coaching in this one, and I believe the Rebels have the distinct advantage in that catagory. Bearden vs Oak Ridge is going to be a battle. I think these two teams are probably in the top 5 in the state in 4A. I have a feeling this might come down to whoever has the ball last. Two athletic teams with incredible coaching staffs. This is a toss up..... I just hope the Popcorn is hot and fresh

Let the circus begin. Lots of kids and parents now are going to be focused on education more than athletics 😀

this is gonna fun to watch pan out!!! Lots of kids will all of a sudden will talk about how important academics are

This region tournament will be a battle this year. The first round match up between West and Oak Ridge will be the best game of the first round. Depending on which West team shows up. I think Bearden and Maryville win big and Farragut should beat Powell. A region semifinal matchup between Oak Ridge and Bearden will be an absolute classic. Especially the way the season ended last year for the Wildcats. Look out for Maryville....they are peaking at the perfect time of the season. gonna be another fantastic Region tournament this year.

Nick Lollar from Maryville High School Class of 98' Never seen a guy with more fouls than assists in a 4 year career. He was a volume shooter -
when did Gibbs and Karns become rivals?

toughest non-region schedule for 2023
eyeinthesky replied to theawesomebro's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Bearden's Non Region Schedule is murderers row 8/19 @ West Defending 5A State Champions 8/25 @ Alcoa Defending 3A State Champions 9/1 Anderson County Defending 4A State Champions 10/13 @ Oak Ridge 10/20 Morristown West -
They have won just as much as WB has.

Both teams are really good this year and it will be a dogfight. One thing that Bearden did last night to try and contain Caden Windle is to face guard him all game. It slowed him down, but I still think he ended up with 14 or 15 points. He is a great player and plays old school basketball....which I love!!! Karns can really get it up and down the court. Will be a fun matchup either way

Bearden upsets WB in OT and OR beats Karns by 4
-
What would happen if Karns wins District 3 tournament, but loses first round of Region? Would the Region then be hosted at Central, assuming that they win?
-
Is the Region Tournament scheduled for District 3 this year? If so, would it most likely be held at Oak Ridge?
-
HV was up by 2 points with about a minute to go in the 1st half and then hit back to back 3's (one at the buzzer) to go up by 8 at halftime. Bearden then walked out of the halftime locker room with about 5 seconds on the clock and didn't get a chance to warm up for the 2nd half. HV then proceeded to go on a 17 or 19 point run to start the 2nd half and that was all she wrote for the Bulldogs. Bearden is in danger of not advancing to the Regional Tournament for the first time in probably 30 years if they don't beat Maryville next Thursday night. They are a very young team, but this is very uncharacteristic of the Bulldogs that I am use to seeing.

Based on the stats provided at the award ceremony today, Dowdell had 2500+ rushing yards in the regular season vs Bishops 2300+. So unless my math is wrong, I am not sure that is 800 more rushing yards
-
Bishop didn't need to carry the ball as much this year as he did in 2021. Karns had a good QB that threw for 1264 yards and and 17 TD's. Desean didn't have to be the work horse for the offense like he did in 2021. He still average 214.5 yards and 3 TD's a game this season. It sucks that both were not able to get the award. Both are very deserving and were the MVP's of their teams.
-
Bishop had 34 total TD's this year..... 30 rushing, 3 receiving and 1 passing. So it is closer than one might think.

That aged well

Karns vs Oak Ridge...Thursday Night Rivalry
eyeinthesky replied to WillieTheWildcats's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
100% brilliant. Why would that be a chickenstuff call? -
100% accurate. Karns should have never been in that situation. The defense should have been in cover 2 or cover 3 on that last drive. Great game by both teams. Carter players showed alot of class at the end. Carter’s QB is the best high school QB I’ve seen in years. Dude is an absolute stud and should do well the rest of the season and in college. Carter fans and administrator were great. Very impressive by their program.
-
This is after the Carter coach showed his #### for 5 minutes. Makes sense
-
Devin and Thomas Harper were the other great Karns players that I can recall in recent history.
