  1. has anyone seen or heard anything about chatanooga christian? They are going to be our main competition this year and i havent seen or heard anything about them. Anyone have info?
  2. Overrated teams: Adamsville Northside
  3. nick is probably one of the weirdest people i have played against. He is really slow (in the head) and he doesnt understand what your saying when you talk to him. O well, we still killed them. Cutter crazy, are yall playing in the Carter I just found out that Webb dropped out of the Carter in the A division and our coach decided to go ahead and bump us on up to the A so we can play with baylor, macallie, and the rest of the unreal good teams
  4. yeah, the one that plays number 1 lost to lucas 9-7 but lucas was playing terrible until the last 2 games the other one lost to will magee 8-2
  5. northside tennis (local school) just had a huge 2 page write up on the front page of the sports section. They were bragging and ranting like no tomorrow. They also were talking about how bad they were going to beat usj (we beat them like 6-3 last time) Today we won 9-0 and colton norton (our number 3) didnt play, he's in D.C. It was great to finally shut them up
  6. exactly. USJ has had several state championships mostly due to matthew evans, Lee Taylor Walker, and Dan Matthews. Those guys were gone like 4 years ago and in no way affect the outcomes or the status of or team.
  7. I know of some players that dont play tennis tournaments that would absolutly smash up the competition. THis board is about highschool tennis man. People are wanting to get tennis scholarships to play in college and the best way to do that is to show that you are a team player, you support your teammates and their matches. Believe it or not, the crowd and your teammates have a lot to do with the outcome of college tennis matches. Ranks are also not a good way to judge people. They are all screwed up. last time i played in southerns there were people there that didnt deserve to even have a top 50 rank in their state but all states have different tennis competition. Tennessee for example doesnt have as good of players as Georgia
  8. Hey buddy, if you didnt notice, this would be my thread. So how about you stay out of the conversation. The only reason that the B teams from the Rotary are being mentioned is beacuse its the 2nd biggest highschool tennis event for most teams all tennis season. Most of the players on this board played in the tournament so its naturally the local discussion. If you would like to get recognition for your team, perhaps you should do it in a thread thats not about USJ tennis.
  9. Why is everyone on here talking about bearden? If they are so special, why did they play in the C division at the Rotary?
  10. do any of yall happen to know what the layout for the state tournament is this year?
  11. i guess if you count a pro set as 8 games, we played 1 set of 10 games. Dont know why but the MUS coach just wanted it like that. It was so rediculously hot and since it was only practice, I dont think he wanted everyone getting so worn out before doubles
  12. USJ actually does have a great team this year. The only teams that they have lost to have been in out of state tournaments. Madison has also lost some of their big defensive players. USJ's Billy Picaccio, Lucas Guerra, Alex Kurth, and Scott Metcalf have all been playing great and im looking forward to the game tonight at 5 See yall there
  13. im going to have to say bo seal or william lang. Both are really good. who is wes bagget?
  14. most of us one here dont know what all the different regions and districts are so how about you post what teams yall play
  15. we lost all matches at mus. for some reason we were playing 10 game pro sets and our closest score was 10-7 overall we didnt play that well but we are hosting lexington today which should be another win.
  16. the guy I played at the Rotary that played for Science hill (john something) seemed like he was much better than a number 6. I was told that they stacked and after watching them I can say that they did but I was kind of curious who was their real number one
  17. were headed down to MUS to play tomorrow, ill let yall know how we do. hopefully better than last time
  18. was it just me or did most teams stack at the Rotary. I know that we didnt and i know that siegel didnt but Science Hill........hmmm
  19. if they dates from tennis district and soccer district are the same, he is going to play tennis. But if they are on different dates and he can make it to the games, he will play soccer and tennis. And yes Lucas practices as much as the rest of us
  20. lord yes, he is a very good soccer player but it gives me a heart attack everytime he plays. He is playing in like 2 more games then he is done and just playing tennis. Im not trying to direct this thread as a hate message against will. It would be appreciated if you would just comment on us as a team and not just focus on the faults on one of our players. Thanks guys Frank C
  21. will makes good calls. He told me today that he never tries to cheat anyone. He's a good player. Since in tennis we call all of our own shots, we are human and there will be a few bad ones on both sides. 90% of people, if the ball is extremly close to the line, will give the opponent the benifit of the doubt 10% wont. and will is in that category. Its also kind of funny that he hasnt had any controversy with any other team but siegel
  22. Do you know what a 120 serve is? no Nobody on the highschool level is hitting the ball that hard and getting it in. THere are players that can no doubt hit it 100+ but not 120. Many pro players are hitting the ball around that speed.
  23. our lineup isnt official and will change im sure. I had to sit out for almost 8 months due to shoulder surgery and Im just now starting to beable to get the ball back in the court. As for will, if you would like to discuss his calls and whatever, send me an email at frankiec996@yahoo.com or just give me your email
  24. nation_supp89, Im guessing you play for siegel, what number do you play? when we played yall for the first time we were still experimenting with our lineup. Our lineup as of now is 1. Lucas guerra 2. Will Magee 3. Colton Norton 4. Hunt Magee 5. Ben Gaines 6. Frank Crocker
