Lady Vols will play the Lady Raiders from MTSU on March 18, 2014. The game will be held at Ridley Park in Columbia, TN. This is a big event for the city of Columbia and the Central High School Lady Lions!!

Is this position still available? I teach Physical Science in Metro, and I am a former high school coach (Page High School).

Williams is only a sophomore, so who knows where he will go in 3 years. He is quick and powerful for his size. I am assuming you saw him play plenty of times. As far as the trick plays, they didn't need them. They went for two fourth downs and converted. How is that a trick play? Davidson's wide receiver took one away from Brown in the end zone for a touchdown. Williams had 180 yards rushing. The Tennessean does not watch the smaller schools enough to evaluate. Maybe you should go get a stopwatch and time him for yourself. By the way change your handle to littlepuppydog.

I know what I saw in both games Davidson played Harding this year. He may be a great kid off the field, no disrespect there, he is a great player but he knows how to show up the other team on the field. Maybe it was just those games.

Congratulations to Blair Arrington of Davidson Academy for II-A lineman. Justin Williams should have gotten Mr. Football for back. How do you get 2800 yds and 39 touchdowns and a State Championship and not win. Brown of Harding got it because he is a Senior and highly recruited. He is a showboat. Williams is a class act and ran over or around every defense he faced this year.

Congratulations to Davidson Academy. They avenge their previous loss against Harding Academy. Coach Wade is a gutsy coach. They overcame Harding's big time recruit Marlon Brown. DA is a small school but they are fun to watch with their tailback Justin Wiliams.

There are so many high school athletes using illegal drugs it is not even funny. The coaches are too scared to do anything because it might ruin their playoff run. Football especially. What a shame.

Does TSSAA do any kind of drug testing for athletes? If not - they should. Are there any school systems that do?

Hey Page Man. This is a little old, but I didn't see a story on the Page- SH game. What in the world happened??

There are many good umpires around. Of course they get the good games. But there are also alot of umpires who have never played baseball, but can read an open book test and get certified. Who wouldn't want to do that for 60.00 a game or more???? Many are out there just for the check and go home. I have umpired around Nashville and Middle TN for 19 years and I know many of them and how they are. There is nothing anybody can do about it. Just play the game.

Page is young with only 3 returning Seniors, and a Junior and Sophomore class that was mostly JV players last year. So they are definitely rebuilding. If Hughes is on he is very tough to beat, But that is only one arm for the back to back games. The new coach Is Nathan Brown. He is young, believe he played college ball at Trevecca. Been coaching a good summer travel team, and may have come from a high school in Lebanon. Tell me if that is not right. I think he will do a good job. He just needs to be tough with all the young players he has.

It is amazing that every year the A/AA tournament sends 14 private school teams to the sweet 16. You think these schools don't recruit. Sure they do. Even though they are D-1 and aren't supposed to give aid- they promise them so much. I know- I've been there. It is not fair to the A/AA schools that have to pull from just what their neighborhood offers. And then a private school down the road lures the better player in. AAA isn't the same because you don't see as many private schools in the AAA. They go to A/AA so they can win. TSSAA needs to look at this. For the last several years- the final 16 are 90% private. When you see the scores for A/AA the privates beat the public by 4-6 goals. Not even close. They need to play each other..

Good thing she didn't play last year against PAGE. They would have eaten her up.

How are the Page High Lady Patriots doing? I am the coach from last year and haven't been up to date with them lately. Love The Lady Patriots 2005 District Champs Sweet 16

Page High- (being Page High and getting no credit) has 3 players better than many of those AAA players. SO. Alexis Reddish- sweeper; SO. Hannah Durick - Forward; and SR. Lauren Abrams- Forward. Page was one game away from State last year- of course losing to eventual PRIVATE SCHOOL FRA. Page was one of 2 public schools in the final 16. Amazing how TSSAA controls the recruiting with D1 private schools. Page will be back- even losing their coach from last season.

Coach Hollingsworth is going to spend more time with his young son who plays baseball and daughter who plays soccer in the spring also. He told me it was also a teaching decision that will put him back in the gym and out of the classroom. Of course, many times making a teaching move means you lose the coaching that goes with it. I think he may go back to baseball one day, if the right situation comes up. Too bad for Page- he knows his stuff- just didn't have enough bats and arms.

Who pitched in Culleoka's in their last two shutout wins? Huntland hits pretty well- I was shocked to see they were shutout.
