  1. I am being told by sources that the frustration was due to the fact that she was hired under the pre-tenses to take over the middle school program when the current coach steps down. I don't think it has anything to do with them not encouraging her to better her career if that is what she wants to do. I am sure they don't mind her coaching at Riverdale if that is what she wants to do but if she chose to do that and stay on as a teacher at Blackman then that could have possibly put the administration in a situation where they could not been able to hire an assistant coach to take her place because of no teaching positions being available (thats only if no other teacher left at the end of the school year - highly unlikely). I see this situation in a different light than just what has been allowed in the past but I am just giving you some insight to the situation from what I am being told (which may be right but could be wrong). I agree totally with your last statement.
  2. Sorry, it took me so long to get back to you. I don't check the forum every day. The answer to your question is "yes" she was contacted by Tom Nolan according to what she is telling other sources. The answer to the second question is "I'm not really sure". I guess she is since she considered coaching at Riverdale but she continues to make it very clear that she doesn't want to teach at the high school level so I'm not really sure. However, she just told the Blackman girls coach and the administration last week that she wants to continue to coach at Blackman Middle School from what I have been told. Hope that helps.
  3. I apreciate your response and your thoughts. However, thats the great thing about these forums, plenty of room for discussion and opinions. However, maybe we will find something we agree on in the future.
  4. Sorry but I never stated that the Blackman administration is telling her to find another middle school. That is no where in my posts unless I misread them. Here is the quote from the first post "The Blackman middle school administration is not happy about this and nor would I be. She has been advised by certain people that she should either go back and get her high school certification (which she said she does not want) or to find another middle school" I stated that she has been advised by certain people, I did not say administration. I stated the administration was not happy with her. I am aware that it has been going on for a while (coaching at other schools). I am aware of the different coaches who have coached at different places. However, that doesn't necessarily make it right regardless of how long it has been going on. Sorry, but me worried abot her leaving is not what I am worried about. I apologize for making it sound that way. There are plenty of good teachers out there and coaches that can step right in and take her position. My opinion was more about the situation not about her possibly leaving Blackman. I would argue this same point about anybody else. BUT, it is just an opinion! My question about Nolan was intended on getting some prospective input from you on how Nolan would handle the same situation the principal at Blackman middle is dealing with in the Krystal Horton situation. It was not intended on saying that Nolan or Riverdale does things through the "Backdoor". I had no issue with you. I completely understnad that everyone has an opinion and that it is not always going to be the same as mine That is the reason I was asking for input from you. I like to heart other peoples thoughts even though I may not agree with it
  5. Thats your opionion and I have my opinion and everyone else has theirs. However, I don't need you telling me to calm down and relax about me voicing my opinion as well as asking you a question about how many teachers Tom Nolan has hired to teach at Riverdale and coach at another middle school. You need to make sure you know the intent behind a question before you start telling people to calm down (all you have to do is ask what I meant by that). It seems from your posts (which is very frequently on coach T) that you have no problem stating your opinion on these forums. If you have a problem with someone that differs from your opinion then stay off these forums because you will run across people that don't always agree with you. Second, no one ever said that Krystal was going to be fired. I stated that the administration was not happy with her (not that they are going to fire her) nor would I be and that certain people (which doesn't necessarily mean the administration) are advising her to go back and get her high school certification or find another middle school (meaning: transfer) if she is wanting to coach high basketball at Riverdale. Don't take things out of context, RIVERDALE MAN.
  6. Messer has a high school certificatio and Tom knew he cold get him in there the next year. Krystal doesn't have that and nor does she want it. Plus, Christiana feeds into Riverdale so of course it would not be a conflict of interest. The Blackman middle school administration is not happy about this and nor would I be. She has been advised by certain people that she should either go back and get her high school certification (which she said she does not want) or to find another middle school. If you think that it is not a conflict of interest, then I respect that since I asked for your thoughts. However, how many teachers has Tom Nolan hired at Riverdale that he has allowed to coach at another middle or high school that feeds into a cross town rival?
  7. Here is what I do know. She teaches at Blackman Middle School. She has made it very clear that she doesn't want to teach at the high school level. She doesn't even have her high school certification. If she takes the Riverdale job (thats if she has been offered it) don't you think it would be a major conflict of interest for her to teach at Blackman Middle School and coach at Riverdale high school?
  8. Not sure how the flames were mistaken to be in the finals but I am sure it was an honest mistake. I agree with you that both teams were loaded and I look forward to seeing both teams succeed!
  9. Last year: Could of, would of, should of! Bottom line it doesn't it really matter when we all know that everybody has their own opinion about talent and team concept. However, to beat it over and over just to get a rise out of people like Crimson does just gets old but yet again I don't have to read his post either, do I. I guess it is partly my fault for reading his silly thought process! I don't mean to single out your last post but Blackman did not play Mt. Juliet last night in the sectional finals. Central Tigers did!
  10. Since you keep making that point, your most talented team walked away last year without a sectional title but they were the better team and most talented? Guess it was the coaches fault or referees fault, right? Great job your freshman boys have won a district title. While they were busy doing that 4 out 5 Blackman starters from last year 8th grade sectional championship team (That did not play freshman) has started and/or received ample playing time to help lead Blackman to a second place finish in the district. Seems like both are doing just fine in my opinion! So whats your point! So since Mt. juliet lost the most talent in the mid-state in your opinion then I guess teams like David Lipscomb, MBA, Brentwood had less talent?
  11. He makes an effort every time he talks about this years team to mention they are the team that lost the most talent. He brings this upon himself. If he would just leave it at congratulating Mt. Juliet on an incredible season then it would be fine but he has to find some way to mention they lost the most talent every time he posts. What he fails to understands is that there are many teams in the mid-state that have much talent and some of those teams don't get seen in the State Sectional because they are not part of the TMSSAA. This poster can think that Mt. juliet lost the most talent last year all he wants. Lots of people get a laugh out of that one including me! CONGRATS TO THE BEARS! WELL DESERVED!
  12. Mt. Juiet is the better team. They have some attitude problems and you don't know what team you are getting when it comes to them but if they pressure Central then it is a done deal. If they get into a half court game then Mt. juliet will struggle because of Central size. Central guards can't handle pressure and if you press them then Cnetral posts are forced to handle the ball which they are not good at doing. This has definitley been a weird tournament this year. Central in the finals is very suprising. However, if Mt. Juliet shoots the ball like they shot against Blackman then they will win by 20. This game will be no contest if Mt. Juliet presses!
  13. Here is the quote I wrote: "I don't call that a choke against siegel. That was just one bad pitch and that happens. Riverdale has a history the last three years of choking in the regionals when they are clearly the better team. " I did not say they choked against Siegel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you have the team to go to State the last three years and you can't get past the regionals, I'm sorry, but that is choking. You call it what you want, I call it choking.
  14. I don't call that a choke against siegel. That was just one bad pitch and that happens. Riverdale has a history the last three years of choking in the regionals when they are clearly the better team.
  15. Lets hope Riverdale doesn't find a way to choke in the big game like they have the past 2 years.
